Hot peppermint tea and diet pop with chicken fried steak and the senior breakfast two eggs two bacon and one pancake. More filling than you imagined. My hubby had the chicken fried steak with perfect gravy. The staff works in a collaborative effort to make sure that everyone has their drinks refilled promptly and their order is delivered. As soon as they are completed in the kitchen it is a mastery symphony of service to observe . the entire building is layered with so much vintage art from the 1950s era. There's always something amazing to look at and even though I've been here many times every seat has a different view. It's really a fun place to be easy access off 164th St. Vancouver Washington. If you haven't been here yet, what on earth are you waiting for? Make it a stop for dinner breakfast or lunch everything there is yummy today was St. Patrick's Day so of course they had traditional corn, beef and cabbage. Dinner. Option for 12 bucks. The floor in this place is absolutely filthy. Every time I go in there I am looking forward to sitting down but I am so grossed out by the environment that I just want to leave. I'm not going to put myself through this anymore please clean the f****** floor! Seriously how hard is it to get some Ajax or bleach on there and hire someone to clean it it's so gross!!! Also when you sit in the booth they are odd wits and it's not really enough room to comfortably sit down. As for the food it's pretty mediocre probably the same stuff off of the Sysco truck that everyone else is serving. This is the epitome of the quintessential retro 1950s cafe! We landed here late one night after doing a retro-themed escape room. We grabbed a bite before ending our festivities. The Stardust is exactly on the inside what you expect to get by looking at the outside. You're greeted by friendly staff and quickly seated. The diner menu is 100% all-American quisine. Burgers, Fries, Open-Face sandwiches, milkshakes, the works. The tables and decore match the theme of the era. The staff is responsive and friendly. The prices are a bit high but I imagine they're struggling to keep the doors open with all the hustle and bustle around them likely trying to push them out of the corporate giant's way. If ever on the east side of Vancouver, give them a try. Well worth your time to go have a good ole diner meal! read more

I've driven by this place many times and never stopped because there was always a line out the door. I was alone so figured it would be easier to get a seat at the bar. I went in around 10:00 in the morning during the week and it was quite busy. The service is very good and they are very attentive at refilling coffee. The portions here are massive and the food was very tasty. You can customize almost anything which I really appreciated. It does seem like a hangout place for some of the seniors in the community, so the food does benefit from a bit of seasoning. read more

My parents live really close and we pass it all the time. They have friends who say it's good so why not. We came for breakfast. I got the country fried steak. It passed the fork test. I should be able to eat it with just a fork. Very tender and a decent sized piece. Something was missing though. Like seasoning in both the gravy and the steak. My brother got the blueberry pancakes. They were ok. Definitely artificially colored blueberry sauce. But sometimes that's what you want. It definitely checks the boxes of a fifties type diner. Service was very friendly and helpful. Just not really food I would be coming back for. read more

Fast service, delicious food, and those classic jukeboxes create the perfect mix of nostalgia and a great meal. The Redneck Benedict was absolutely addictive, and the portions are massive--just as tasty the second time around. The spinach omelette with. crispy hashbrowns was amazing too. Devon is a Rockstar. He served us with a smile, expeditiously and accurate service. He checked on us often and did it all while being busy. His service was exceptional and his the food was great, with generous portions. The decor takes you back in time, and Devon's mustache is like one of my favorite pitchers in the MLB "Rollie Fingers", who pitched for Milwaukee, Oakland and San Diego. This place is filthy. Tables, floor, walls...all gross. Lift up the condiment caddy, YUCK! The condiment bottles are sticky and missing labels. The furniture is in disrepair. The food is average but priced accordingly. There is plenty of help, mostly leaning behind the counter or congregated by the register. The waitress curly hair and glasses and the tall waiter with the fun mustache are great. The place needs a deep clean from top to bottom. Streamline the tasks of the team. read more

I must be dreaming! A railroad car New Jersey Diner in Vancouver WA? Yelp pointed me here as I had work in the area. Yes, there is Counter Service... and the booths to snuggle! I miss the wonders of Diners out west. Good food, quickly... not really fancy, but good cooking and a welcoming staff! I don't remember what was on the jukebox... Breakfast was Bacon and Eggs with Hash-browns. My food arrived quickly, hot and delicious! It hit the right spot. My coffee cup was promptly filled and refilled. Price was great too! I've been coming to the Stardust Diner for over 10 years now. I commend them for holding their prices while other restaurants raised theirs. However, it seems like lately the quality of the food and the service have suffered after they raised their prices. Foodwise, just within this month, I had to return a Chicken Fried Steak that was like a shoe sole. Looks like it had been sitting there for quite some time. They did replace it with a fresh one which was good. Recently though, I ordered some Halibut Fish & Chips. Again, they were overcooked, burnt, and barely edible. Service wise, I counted 9 staff memembers congregated around the cash register just joking around and not paying attention to customers. On some nights, they start stacking the chairs on the stand alone tables, way before closing time. Nothing is more unwelcoming than that. What has happened to the diner? Have they changed ownership or something? It's sad, but customers will quickly tire of the declining food and service. There are however, some of the oldest wait staff that I have to commend for their service. read more

Solid breakfast spot, been going here easily the last 15 years. For breakfast the food is good. Dinner and lunch is hit or miss. With that said it's still definitely worth it. It has all the basic diner staples for all meals 9f the day. The prices are incredible, easily the lowest in Vancouver. It has a 1950's and older theme. You can play music at your table and there is a jukebox (Look it up kids) in the entry way. The service is fast and has been great everytime I've been there. If you live in Vancouver and haven't checked it out you are missing a great spot. It's also great for families with younger kids. It's loud with a mix of different types of people. read more

I've been going to Stardust Diner for years and have always loved the concept. There's something special about stepping back in time and enjoying that nostalgic atmosphere. It's one of the reasons we've continued coming back over the years. Recently, we visited and ordered mac and cheese for our kiddo and two hamburgers for my wife and me. Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing. The customer service was noticeably poor from the start. There was no introduction from our server--no greeting, no name, just a blunt "What do you want?" It felt rushed and unwelcoming. A simple introduction and friendly tone go a long way, especially at a place that thrives on atmosphere and experience. The hamburgers were dry and burnt, which made it even harder to overlook the service. The portion sizes are still great for the value, and that has always been a strong point. But between the lack of hospitality and the quality of the food this time, it really changed how we feel about coming back. It's unfortunate because we've enjoyed this diner for years, but after this experience, we won't be returning. read more

My son and daughter on law came for lunch from Eugene. We went to stardust because its the best place on town. Not this visit. The server didn't place mysons order until he brought all of the other meals. It took at least 15 minutes for it to be served to my son at that point we were all done eating. The server was very rude and say gee I am sorry I missed your sons order eith a sparky grin on his face. I called the owner and felt like my concerns were not taken seriously. I've dined here before and the breakfast is good! I wanted to try something new and I tried the turkey dinner and it was okay. It didn't have any flavor & it was very salty. We all collectively agreed that our food was salty. The cornbread and chocolate milkshake were great! In the 13 years I've been coming to this restaurant, the overall quality and service has slipped over and over again. Tonight was the last straw. Ordered a simple BLT. I'm not sure where the chicken fried steak came from in that photo with the eggs, but it isn't anything like what my wife got for dinner. She got two small, flat pieces that were identical in shape and size. The gravy was obviously canned. The fries were not too bad, the onion rings were wonderful. The fried fish was pretty good. I was going to write home about the cole slaw but there wasn't anything to write about. Service is, as usual, very good and friendly. Finally, we've finally tried this local spot. We waited just a little over 10 mins around lunch time. This spot was such a great deal because we ordered all this for a little over $30 after tips. The Ricky Ricardo Patty Melt was only $9.99 like WHAT... The tater tots were so crispy. Love the pancake, it was so fluffy. A very cute interior. Lots of parking in the back. One thing to note is that it does take a little longer to order and we did wait a bit for our food. read more

We arrived on a Wednesday late morning and were quickly seated at a booth. Service was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Ricky Ricardo and my date, the Monie Cristo. Both came out of the kitchen in a quickly as busy as they were. My Ricky and fries was good but lacking a sauce of some kind to hit the, "really yummy" level. Ordered chicken fried steak-I believe it came over on the mayflower.(yes it was that old) hashbrowns were cold, so was the eggs { hashbrowns were very greasy}. The toast was cold and was more like bread, not even toasted. We also ordered the hamburger and fries. Burger was luke warm and so were the fires. This used to be one of our favorite places to have breakfast. It also took forever to get waited on and served. The return air vents looked like there was cotton growing on them.(never been cleaned-wonder if the kitchen is the same way?) Was never ask how our meal was. Took my son to Stardust Diner for his birthday breakfast--he'd been asking to go for months. First time there, and definitely the last. He ended up with food poisoning from the meal. Vomiting, headache, sick all day on what was supposed to be a celebration. I called and was told the manager would follow up the next morning. No one ever did. No refund, no apology--just silence. I wasn't going to write a review. I gave them the chance to do the right thing. They didn't. Now everyone should know. I have frequented this restaurant for several years and have always enjoyed the service, food, and atmosphere. However, my visit yesterday was a major disappointment. The server, I didn't get his name, but he had an unmistakable handlebar style mustache, seemed a bit put off waiting on customers. He was impatient, borderline rude with snide comments, and very inattentive. It wasn't even that busy! As far as the food went - I ordered a BLT with tots. I wanted potato salad, but our server said it was seasonal and then commented about how potatoes are not in season, so I had to order fries or tots - umm, those are also made from potatoes... The BLT was on very thin and droopy lightly toasted bread with a dollop of mayo squirted right in the middle then lettuce, tomato, and the bacon stacked in a pile square int eh middle - not evenly spread out but just a big glob in the middle. The flimsy bread didn't hold up, and the bacon seemed like they cooked it twice for a desert dryness effect. The tots very over cooked. In fact, i got the impression that they were left over from the day before and refried a second time then served. Nothing like biting into a over crisped potato flavored grease sponge! I would have said something during my visit, but we were with family members, and I didn't want to create a scene with them there. I will likely go back, and most of the time I would recommend this restaurant, but if I happen to see that server I won't be sitting in his section. read more

Love coming here because there is so much variety on their menu. The server was very nice and got us our food quickly. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and added mushrooms.
