    Mac and cheese

I absolutely love their Mac and cheese. It was very tasty and cheesy. I wish I didn't have to share :)

I remember going to the actual restaurant in Portland. The tin foil sculptures that held your leftovers. All that is gone, but the fantastic food lives on at this food cart. Speedy service. Great staff. The ambiance still has that communal dining feeling thanks to the other carts and joined dining area. Definitely worth stopping in.

I've been working my way through Oak Tree Station food carts this year. Some are better than others. If you're looking for cheap food, this might not be your place. I had high hopes for Montage A La Cart after reading previous reviews. Yes, my Spold Mac & cheese was pretty tasty, but paying $18+ (after tax & tip) took some of my joy away. It's Mac & cheese, guys. You get it in a cardboard box. That's it. Nothing else, unless you want your dish to cost over $20. Then you can add on protein like chicken or shrimp. Maybe Andouille sausage. It's still just macaroni noodles with a slightly elevated sauce. I would happily go back and pay that price if a protein was included or maybe a little side salad even. That's just my humble opinion.

One of the last times I visited.. actually had sauce

I've been here multiple times it's always been good until today.. I ordered the dairy free Mac & cheese & asked to make sure it didn't have dairy. Once I got my food there was a thick layer of cheese, I asked again once I picked up the food & she told me it was dairy free. I took a bite & knew it wasn't so I went back up again & she told me all the Mac & cheese has a layer of cheese on top & if I wanted it without I would have to purchase it AGAIN? (Why would the put cheese on a dairy free dish. & it wasnt dairy free cheese) It took until the 3rd time of me asking for her to say I was correct about it not being dairy free but made me PAY for it to be remade. Disappointed because I use to love this place. I've always ordered the same order & have never had an issue! & it was never even remade correctly so that's $40+ wasted.

Well...my New Year's Resolution for 2025 is dead before it even began! There's absolutely no chance I'm gonna lose any weight next year, when my favorite food cart is just down the street from where I work! For those who have never had the pleasure, I highly recommend my favorite, the Spold (Spicy + Old) mac, with added pickled jalapenos and andouille sausage! It's been the only thing I have ordered from any of their carts, since their restaurant under the Morrison bridge closed down during COVID. I was devastated at the loss of one of my favorite restaurants, but overjoyed when I learned they had risen from the ashes like a phoenix, and started popping up food carts all over the Portland metro area! Montage Ala Carte's newest location inside Oak Tree Station in Camas is also the newest operating cart in the pod, serving up some of the best mac and cheese you'll find anywhere in the PNW! And with this new occupant, woe to all the other carts here, because they have just lost a customer! Not because they did anything wrong, but because I just can't bring myself to order anything else!

    "Old" mac n cheese

Love their Mac n cheese! I usually get their cheddar but this last time I tried the "Old" Mac and it was delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Convenient food cart with a great indoor dining area that has a bar. It'll be nice once it is nicer out to enjoy the outside seating. I can't wait to go back to try the spold Mac n cheese! Honestly some of the best I've had.

Not going to lie, I was devastated when Montage in Portland closed. It was a staple for us. It was also one of the only ways I could get my wife to leave Vancouver (LOL). So first, a story: The first time I went I was dragged. It was a cool spot everyone in my college circle always wanted to go. I thought it sounded dumb. Mac and cheese? And its not cheap? I don't get it. Keep in mind this was the 90's, no food network, no elevated mac and cheese recipes on the internet. So when I went, I got a Bleu cheese crumbles salad. Yup you read that right. A salad. I wasnt exactly making a lot of money and I couldn't bring myself to pay for "Mac and cheese". I hated the salad. The next time I went I did something similar, this repeated a few times. Finally a few years later I went and had the Spicy mac. I made more money at the time so I decided I'd try it. I thought it was delicious, but felt like it might be missing something. When I had Spold on my next visit, I realized I was a moron. I wasted so much time, when I could have been putting this in my mouth. It was amazing. After that I was converted, I went there as often as I could get there. So needless to say I was happy when I heard they opened a food cart...but I was beyond elated when I learned they were basically opening in my backyard (Vancouver). I've had it twice now, both times delivered. The one time I went to Oak tree Station (where it's located) I didn't eat there, simply because I was trying to branch out and eat new things. It's basically how I remember. I love Spold and it tastes the same. Which is fantastic! Creamy and cheesey, yet spicy! I miss the dim lit room, the tin foil animals and the half off wine on Wednesdays, but if I can still have Spold, so I'll take it!

We are so glad Montage has finally made its way to this side of the bridge! It's been awhile since we've had it (years) and today did not disappoint! Customer service was friendly and all smiles. It did take awhile for our food but I'm assuming they were just busy with other orders. We got there around 2pm. Food was just as good as I remember, but they are very skimpy with the protein in the mac and cheese. So much flavor in the pasta and the jambalaya. Can't wait to come back again.

This was my first lunch at Oak tree station and a fun business model that I hope continues to expand, selection of food carts, modern plumbing restrooms and covered picnic tables.

Lovely. We could see a fountain. There was also a fireplace near us, which was a nice touch. Service was OK. A little bit slow, and in my opinion, the server was not well trained in basic table service. I would expect a bit better in such a nice location with a lovely restaurant. We both had coffee with plenty of cream. We asked what the soup was, the server didn't know if they had soup. A few minutes later, she returned to say they only had clam chowder. Which is exactly what my friend had had there before and wanted. After a long wait, a very nice bowl of clam chowder was served. It was a healthy portion and came with some oyster crackers. Very tasty. I ordered the roasted beef salad. The beats were on top of a bed of totally overdressed spinach for my taste. The beats were nicely roasted, and there were plenty of them. Candied pecans as well. Not a lot of feta. Pickled onions on top. It was OK only I would not order that again. My friend got the Caesar salad, which was very nice. The croutons were light and crunchy. We also had some bread that came with olive oil and vinegar. This item was fine, not great. The clam chowder was $10 for a bowl and it was the best thing that I had. We had to ask for a refill on our coffee, and also to clear some plates away that were finished. We did stay for a very long time. My friend felt relaxed there and was talking to me quite a bit. I do appreciate that we were not rushed out, however, it was not busy. We were never offered dessert. Perhaps we would've enjoyed that. I see myself returning, if my friend would like to.

Also when you sit in the booth they are odd wits and it's not really enough room to comfortably sit down. As for the food it's pretty mediocre probably the same stuff off of the Sysco truck that everyone else is serving. It looks like a originally someone put a lot of effort into making this place special but apparently lately they have just given up.

Cause if you like it strong, you know what to get or if want a lighter drink, as Tiki can be intense, you don't end up sabotaging yourself. Haha. I wish there was a half star option, as the only real ding here was that they don't seat in the lounge without your whole party (and yes, I get that there's a time limit, so I suppose that they are trying to make sure everyone has time), but, there's nowhere to wait, so was left standing by the door for some time. Offer to seat me in the bar or something, was very awkward to just keeping shuffling around when people are coming in and out.

The mashed potato and veggies were excellent. They topped the steak with couple pickled onion rings which was quite refreshing. And don't forget the garlic infused butter served with the steak. It was wonderful. I had my wedge salad while my husband had their soup of the day. It was a big salad which Ai appreciate. The blue cheese crumbles and salad dressing was fantastic.
