Ribeye Steak, Red Skin Mashed Potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
    Tyler B.

Came here with my wife for an evening dinner last night. Weather was nice so we sat outside. We both ordered the Ribeye Steak with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. I also ordered a "simple" whiskey sour, but was probably one of the fanciest whiskey sours I've ever had. The food and drinks were both great. Service was quick and efficient, we were seated immediately and had our food/drinks in about 15 minutes. Overall good experience. Being local, this won't be our last time here.

We went here for dinner after our return to Vancouver. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. We sat outdoors because the weather was perfect. The ambience is modern, sleek, and upscale. Our server, Daniel, was top notch and very accommodating to our every request. He was attentive without being overbearing. I started with the heirloom and mozzarella salad and it was excellent. The vegetables had robust flavor so you could actually taste what you were eating, It was a great choice. The wife had a "Main salad" which came with a crab cake, smoked salmon, and boiled shrimp as the proteins. I tried the smoked salmon and it was tender, not dry, with a mild smoke flavor. The rest of the salad were assorted vegetables that you find in a salad and everything was fresh. I had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza which was too much for one person. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were generous. It was a very good pizza. The kid had a burger with grilled vegetables. The meat was smoky and charred, good quality meat. For dessert, the wife and I split a piece of carrot cake and it was outstanding. It had great flavor and was very moist. One of the best I have ever tried. Overall, if we lived in Vancouver we would be regulars here. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

Stopped in with a friend for a late lunch and a beer. Really enjoyed the food and the conversation. It was busy but quiet enough for us to hear each other. The inside bar and dining room are spacious and well lit but they also have a great outside seating area. Service was great. Our server was super nice. Attentive yet not intrusive.

It's my second time here and my clients always know to take me back when I'm in town, and I'm grateful! Fantastic place, beautiful interior that works for business, or casual, and even for a romantic rendezvous! I had the ribeye last time and was quite happy. Two on our table did this time and were equally pleased. I went for the short rib and it didn't disappoint! Mine was on the fatty side--which I happen to like--so if the gelatinous, fatty layer on top of beef does not appeal to you, perhaps mention it to your server (though 2 others in our party had it and weren't as lucky as me with their beef fat content). The candied deviled eggs weren't bad, just nothing special. We had crab cakes too, and I definitely liked the slaw better than the cake. I wish I subbed my potato salad (nothing special) for it. Great wine selection and tons of interesting beer as well. Our server Samantha was a delight! She had the most lively way of describing the specials for the evening, that half of us were swayed to try it. Alas, she must have done such a good job they ended up running out by the time she took our orders. Overall fabulous place and I'll be sure to come back next time I'm in town!

I've been here a handful of times and have always been impressed. The food, the environment, the service are all top notch. They have a full bar and I've yet to be disappointed in any cocktail I've ever ordered. The bartenders are very knowledgeable as well, if you're exploring new drink and ingredient options. The best time to come here is during happy hour - their happy hour share plates are a great value, and quite filling. I strongly recommend their meatballs!

We wanted something different and haven't eaten in Camas before, so we found The Hammond Kitchen and Craft Bar. We loved it and will definitely be back! I had the Vegan Mushroom Burger but switched out the vegan Gouda for Swiss cheese. It was delicious but I think I should have tried the vegan cheese just to be able to offer a more accurate review. I have never had this kind of "burger" before, so I can't compare it to anything, but I enjoyed the flavors. He had the Sirloin Dip and said it was spectacular. It was tender, had a little horseradish on it, and the flavors of the Rosemary Parmesan bread complemented it very nicely. Our sides were the fries (very tasty) and the bar slaw which was almost like a version of a Caesar slaw. I enjoyed it and would get it again. We made reservations, were seated right away, the staff was friendly and attentive. They made sure my switch of cheese was done correctly before they brought it to the table. The restaurant was moderately busy but not overly loud and the decor was warm and rustic casual. They have a lot of interesting and enticing items on the menu, so we will have to make it out here a few more times. Shout out to our terrific server, Megan H!

The stuff they get right is delicious, but it can take a bit of misses to find them (as you can see in my last review). I ended up coming back since my husband and friend wanted to go to the range next door and I joined for dinner after. This time around we had better luck finding the right menu items. Their cocktails are very good and creative. Their deviled eggs are one of my favorites - especially because of their candied bacon. The steak brochettes is very good too. My friend raved about the burger! Service is always great and the view is beautiful especially if you're here on a clear evening and catch the sunset.

I stopped in for lunch today and sat at the bar, Sherry took such great care of me! She was friendly, attentive (despite being busy) & gave amazing recommendations (everything she suggested was spot on). The vibe was relaxed but elevated, and you can tell the team really cares about their guests. If you're in Camas, The Hammond is a must , especially if you're lucky enough to have Sherry taking care of you!

Thought I would give The Hammond Kitchen a try since we enjoyed our dining experience at The Cove in Vancouver. Evidently the two restaurants are related by ownership. Anyway The Hammond Kitchen did not disappoint. It's a modern, classy and reminiscent of the restaurants we frequented in Scottsdale, AZ. When we lived there. Our waitress was professional, punctual and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was delicious and even the side dishes were brimming with flavor. We had the mushroom focaccia bread for our appetizer which was absolutely delicious. I had the halibut plate and my wife the vegan mushroom burger plate. Both excellent in their own respect. For desert we shared the lemon ricotta cheesecake which was obviously freshly made and also absolutely delicious. I would certainly order it again. In summary The Hammond Kitchen is worth a revisit by us, and can see why this is such a popular eatery on Yelp.

For the area, this place is decent. I wish they had more organic and gluten free options tho!

We attempted to visit La Provence around 11A during a previous trip to Vancouver, but the wait was…read moretoo long and we had an extensive drive home ahead of us. This time, we arrived around 9A and were seated approximately 30 minutes later in the very well-heated patio area. Our server was welcoming and returned quickly for our drink order. I chose an oat-milk chai and was not disappointed. For a restaurant presented as a French bistro, I was surprised that there wasn't a single quiche on the menu. I almost ordered the BLT, but I wanted to try something different, so I chose the west coast salmon benedict with provençal potatoes and butternut squash. The hollandaise was tasty, but the benedict itself was mixed for me. It was served on a sliced croissant, which sounded appealing but wasn't sturdy enough for the toppings and quickly became soggy. Thankfully, I had removed the top half and eaten it separately. I was also expecting the thin slices of smoked salmon you might find on a bagel, but instead received a salmon fillet whose smoked flavor was barely noticeable -- perhaps the Hollandaise overwhelmed it. The butternut squash was delicious and outshined the potatoes by several miles. I wish I had asked for an entire side of squash bc some of the potatoes tasted stale, much like McDonald's fries that have been sitting around for a few hours. My daughter ordered the risotto cakes and eggs, which also made me question the "French bistro" identity, since risotto is Italian. SIL had the corned beef hash. Hubby ordered the chef's omelet with a side of bacon. And the grandbabies had pancakes, bacon, and eggs. My family makes it very obvious when food is delicious: lots of nodding, happy sighs, "You need to try this," or completely cleaned plates. Breakfast did not produce any of that. As our server was preparing to close out the tab, we asked for the dessert menu so we can sing happy birthday to one of our grandbabies. We ordered the Versailles cake and a pavlova. The Versailles was the definite winner. Suddenly, there were the yum sounds and the "You need to try this" comments. We all agreed that its light texture and coffee chocolate flavor were wonderfully similar to our beloved cappuccino mousse cake from Schubert's Bakery SF. It wasn't overly sweet, and the velvety dark-chocolate ganache was delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I went home and immediately searched for a Versailles cake recipe, only to discover that "Versailles" apparently isn't an established French dessert, but La Provence's name for its chocolate sponge layered with vanilla, coffee, and dark chocolate mousses. The pavlova was enjoyable, but it inspired nowhere near the enthusiasm of the Versailles. Between the polenta, risotto, pesto, burrata, mascarpone, tiramisu, avocado toast, corned beef hash, Benedicts, and conspicuous absence of quiche, I left wondering how much of the actual menu is French. There are certainly French ingredients, sauces, pastries, and techniques, but the overall experience felt more like a Pacific Northwest brunch café with French and Italian influences than a true French bistro. Would I return when visiting our daughter and her family? Not on my own accord. If the family chose it, I would definitely go, but I would adjust my expectations and not think of it as a French bistro, order an oat chai, request extra butternut squash, and save plenty of room for the Versailles.
