I think we'll bring other people here next time, there were many other items that caught my eye that reminded me of our time in Spain.

Great hero place with a wide menu of sandwich suggestions. Salads limited to potato, mac, cole slaw. Didn't love the way they assembled a hungry man - components were in different places in the sando and never really blended right. As a person who's done some competitive eating, I was intrigued at TJ's challenge - mostly because you can only do it on the first saturday of every month, which draws a bit of a crowd. The chalenge involves eating 2 feet of any hero. Not a 2 foot long normal hero - 2 feet of "party sub". It's a lot of food. $30 bucks buy-in due the day before. If you finish it all in 30 minutes - 30 minutes! - you get a $30 gift certificate and your picture framed on the wall. Note: there are no framed pictures on the wall. If it was an hour, I might stand a chance. read more

I've been going here since I was in high school and its one of the few memories that stands the test of time every time I come back to visit. The new location is amazing and now the image fits the quality of sandwich you'll be getting. I highly recommend the Manhattan with bacon or the Philly, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I've tried most of the heroes and love every single one of them. read more

Hands down the best sandwich shop in the area! This is in my girlfriends home town and we make sure to stop here every time we visit. My favorite is the Louisiana Lightening. I also really like the Italian with "the works" and the Manhattan. You also have to try their half and half iced tea/lemonade. read more

If you lived in the Bay Shore area, you have heard of Leggio's. TJ's saves you the trip to Bayshore I'm in Patchogue and can make it to TJ's blindfolded. Friendly staff and the portions are usually enough for two meals. Special order, no problem. They accommodate. Wonderful Family owned business. read more
