Stopped here to get sandwiches for the beach. Big place. Lots of staff. Sandwiches were good but the wait was a little excessive. We waited nearly 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches and it wasn't even lunch time yet. I would hate to think what the wait would be at noon. Sandwiches were very good. My 1st time here. My fiancè recommended it, said they have the best breakfast sandwiches in NY. The shop itself is so clean and spacious and the bathroom is very nice and CLEAN! Free 12 oz coffee (or yes I think..i had coffee) with sandwich. Bagel w/ cream cheese is $2.50 after tax...not too bad. Lemonade is real good too. Will return to try a wrap for lunch. read more

The employees complete orders in a flash and you will rarely find yourself waiting on a line. This shop has plenty of places to sit, as well. Perfect for when you just want to have lunch with a group of friends on a weekday. Arguably the best thing about it is the Student Special. This special offers discounts for the starving high schoolers, who make the treacherous 7 minute hike there, to get some truly fulfilling food, after a grueling 6 hours of education. read more

Wow must say my expectations were so wrong.. First walk in place is huge and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Looking around place is super cleaned and I was greeted by such friendly staff.. I wanted a simple breakfast so i got an egg, cheese and potato wrap and the woman asked if i wanted a small or large wrap which she stated small was the size of what goes in a roll and large is what goes in a hero.. This made my experience so much better just being informative to the customers. Also best ice coffee ever i think they add creamer already which i've never seen before i didn't have to put sugar.. Overall i will defineatly be back when I come into the area again read more

Was so excited to try TJ's Hero Shop today ! The place was busy, it must be good ... ordered a roast beef hero on whole wheat to surprise my husband. It was awful. Bread was tasteless, not fresh and roast beef wasnt rare like I requested and the roast beef portion was very small. Was disappointed and I won't be back. read more

I got there like 10 minutes before close (yelp had listed close at 9, when it's at 8), and while I'd normally not want to be a bother and go elsewhere, I decided to give it a try. I ordered a Manhattan to go, and I gotta say it was pretty tasty. Melted cheese and gravy, and even with 10 minutes in the car, didn't get soggy. No need to order a full one unless you're super hungry. This place has the best sandwiches anywhere. Period. I visited Long Island many times before moving here in 2012 and had tried TJ's before moving here. I always looked forward to coming back. Let's start with the appearance. The first location I visited was the Patchogue location. It's a little worn, but they are always super friendly and organized. Cash only- but there is an ATM. The team is very good at their jobs- you wait a little while for the food but they are crafting a seriously quality sandwich. It's worth the wait. On the other hand, the new Mastic location is gorgeous. I never visited the old location, but the new one is awesome. There are more parking spots and a patio outside for when it's nice out. Okay, now the sandwiches. I can't say enough about them. Fresh flavorful bread, high quality meats and cheese. Delicious sauces. They put real care into everything that they make, straight down to rolling up your sandwich in the paper and foil :) My favorites: Louisiana Lightning (I could eat the stealth sauce on EVERYTHING) Manhattan: delicious flavorful roast beef and melty cheese Whatever the pizza one is: Just fantastic, I think there is salami on it...mmmmmm Super club: this is probably what I would get at like a subway or something. You know if TJs was closed or I was too far away to get TJs. I would never go to subway by choice when TJs is a possibility! The best bacon cheese and ham and turkey ever. So good!!!! There's just no describing how good these sandwiches are. Try it for yourself and see! Last tip: I always get a huge iced tea when I go. This hero shop right out side William Floyd high-school was actually really good. Though the older lady working the front never cracked a smile and was very rude the rest of the employees were very pleasant. The hero selection was very good everything from the famous breakfast special to a Italian hero. Anyone not living in NY anymore is probably craving a "breakfast special" just like me. I always loved the "2 eggs ham, cheese, potato, salt, pepper, catsup, on a roll" yummy for my tummy but horrible for my heart. Oh and one more thing, never I mean never, order a Italian hero with mustard.......it might as well be high noon at the OK Coral and you are about to shoot it out with Billy the Kid. The store will go silent and a tumble weed will tumble right by you. So please go to TJ's and enjoy a hero. read more

I go to school right by there and i always go there before and after school. I love the hero's i always get a italian with an energy drink i love it it's betterthan the old location it was at.i just love the Atmosphere and the food and great service. The aroma of fresh carcass outside beckoned me inside, tempting me away from the pizza joint across the way, which smelled all-too-characteristically of sauce and cheese with some spices. As expected as such places, non-meat options are slim (and patrons are far from it). I went off the meager options and selected the Ultimate Veggie Hero with provolone for $7.25+tax, to-go (I'll likely check out their grilled cheese if I stop back in for some reason). This spot was BU-SY (pronounced accordingly) and the staff was friendly. I waited as they speedily filled up my hero with some tasty fillings, but I still wish I'd called ahead, even for such a no-steps-required item. The chip selection was respectable, and you should join their e-list, 'cause that's never a bad idea (though I've received zero correspondence thus far to indicate it's all that productive an endeavor). Read the B&M specials before ordering, unless you're really set on your trademark order. read more

Simply the best hero shop on the planet. It's pricey for a family of 5, but nobody is ever disappointed. I like the Italian with the works and my wife and kids love the Reuben's. I would say 5 full heroes cost us about $50. You can get half get or too. I don't usually give 5 stars but they deserve it. Call ahead and to save time. read more

The best out of the 3 shops huge building and clean compared to middle island very nice and talkative not all about money at this location have the news so it's nice sit n eat and watch the news. I really like the pasta this was our first time eating here the place looks spotless and the food was good enough for a second try. My hubby had some kind of sub which he loved.
