Our first time here and it won't be our last. We drive through Kettle Falls a couple times a week, pass by TJ's every time. This time, it was just past lunch and we decided to stop. Good call! The place is just as advertised; a bar and grill. The inside is split between a family dining section and the "pub" section, complete with pool table and big screens. BUT, there are also a few tables there so we decided to sit in that section. The pub side is a little dark, as you would expect a pub to be. The family dining section, though, is more brightly lit - both areas are very clean and welcoming. The menu has many an option from the standard comfort fare to pasta and low-carb options. They also have a board with daily specials. We both ordered the "fishwich." She ordered garlic on her seasoned fries and I ordered garlic on my curly fries. Our meals came out pretty quickly and we're piping hot and tasty. One word of caution - expect to be feared by vampires with all the garlic that comes on those fries! But, to their credit, the garlic is not as overpowering as it looks like it could be. The fries were really good (especially the crispy "seasoned" fries), as was the fish sandwich. Service was efficient and friendly. We were brought our drinks and food with smiles and offers for anything else. Prices are respectable - even surprising. We're looking forward to coming back and trying their dinner menu. read more

TJ's is a staple in Kettle Falls. We come to town once a year for turkey hunting and we always make our way to this spot. We originally met the Family that owned the joint (47 years) and they were amazing. This year we found out it was bought by a new owner. Talked with her for a bit... very lovely and I imagine she will do great thing for this location. She made great recommendations and was extremely personable with us. We ended up both getting the Chicken broast. Crispy and incredible tender, the chicken was amazing. My only complaint would be the portion was insane! That was a lot of chicken... good leftovers. The chicken fried steak at this cozy Kettle Falls tavern is absolutely amazing! Best ever!

I had the western dip, hubby had the taco salad and mom had the fish and chips. We also added bowls of clam chowder which arrived steaming hot, Smokey, creamy and delicious with a side of crunchy garlic toast. Fries served along side the fish and sandwich are hand cut from fresh potatoes. Taco salad was large and crispy tortilla bowl was not greasy. Food was so delish we had eaten most of it before I remembered to take photos. Service was fantastic, definitely planning on coming back again soon. read more

In Kettle Falls for the weekend and TJ's was recommended for lunch. We went in and sat ourselves. Server Zak came and introduced himself, he also mentioned it was his first day. He took our drink orders. I asked a few questions about the menu. He didn't make anything up or guess but said "let me check, I'll be right back". Came back with answers and took our order. He was a bit hesitant with the handheld device he was using to place the order, understandable since it was his first day. I was a bit surprised they didn't have someone working with him to train him. The food took a long time to come out. We were expecting that since it was busy. The food eventually came out and it was delicious and worth the wait. Price was reasonable and Zak was great. Will stop again of passing through. read more

I have had a few meals and beers at TJ's. I would say it's one of the better offerings in this north east corner of Washington. The have a separate family friendly section as well as an adult section. I had the broasted chicken and salad on my last visit. The chicken was good, it's broasted chicken after all. The pieces were nice sized, and were regular parts of the chicken. No game hen or a chicken butchered into chunks with a machete. The green salad was nice and had lots of extras, not just iceberg lettuce from a bag. read more

Stopped in for a bite before bedtime and was pleasantly surprised. The service was immediate and friendly. Fish Tacos were ordered and they were outstanding. Also ordered some sweet potato fries and they were the best. Vacation doesn't mean no dessert so Blackberry Cheesecake it was. Lip smacking it was and deserving of a second helping, (I refrained.) If you are driving through Kettle Falls stop at TJ's and treat yourself. This is a tavern on steroids. read more

Menu has comfort food all of which are well priced for taste and portions. Best chicken wings ever! Bar is well stocked and they have a pool table and old school jukebox! We went in for the first time since the new owners took over. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. We waited for over 45 minutes just to order then waited another 30+ minutes just for onion rings and a drink. Our bill was $67 for 2 rum and Coke's and 1 order of onion rings. The table behind us did not get their soup or bread with dinner and their bill was $80+. We watched two other tables get up and leave that had been waiting even longer then us. They have a new system, I'm hoping once they get that figured out it will go back to being the old TJs we all love. read more

Had dinner last night at TJ's. It was okay. I think husband hyped it up too much, so I had higher expectations. I ordered a patty melt but on sour dough. It came on rye so I took the burger off the bread which was just as well because the bread was so over cooked, it bordered on burnt. It would have torn up the roof of my mouth if I'd eaten it. The food in general was just okay. Husband loves that they serve one of his favorite beers. There were a lot of locals in there at 5:30. read more

I had the Boneless Ribeye with garlic fries, best meal I'd had this year in 2021 but I started having acid reflex while there so I ate the rest when home later on and reheated the garlic fries together with the steak and it was even better as seconds!! First time here and probably the last. Inside was grungy and muggy, and one of the owners or staff had a large dog that would run around the restaurant and kitchen barking and crawling under tables which I don't think is legal?? Friends and I had a HORRID waitress named Linda. We sit down and when I ask if she has a drink menu she says, "nope" and moves on to the next person without ever checking back in with me. I went without a drink until I asked another waitress for some water. It then takes Linda 20 minutes to get us some menus to look at, and she gave us all of 5 minutes to look it over before ordering. When she got to me I told her I needed another minute to which she responds with: "well you need to make a choice. We're extremely busy and we can't just wait around for you. Do you have any idea what you want?" Mind you, there are about 20 other people in this place and definitely not busy at all. I told her this was my first time here, and then she huffed, turned, and stomped away without suggesting things or offering any kind of help/support. It was clearly obvious her hospitality skills are minimal at best, and I fully believe she should NOT be working in any customer service industry if she is unable to handle the basic demands. read more

Wow. This was our first visit to TJ's. We were delighted to see a pork tenderloin sandwich as a special, just like we used to get when we lived in Indiana! My husband ordered the sandwich with the fresh-cut curly fries on the side. (BTW, they had an amazing array of choices for fries.) I ordered the crispy chicken salad. It was big and it was delicious. I can't say I've had a better one anywhere, ever. We're looking forward to returning to try some other items. We highly recommend the food here. The service was great, as well. read more

Sign at the door states masks are required to enter. That's good. Two servers on shift. One had mask around her neck and our waiter had no mask at all. The food was only so-so. Waiter seemed impatient even though the room was nearly empty. Extra charges for using a credit card or getting a togo box. Not many places to eat in Kettle Falls so next time we will drive to Chewelah. read more

Took my family to dinner because we had no electricity. My daughter and myself went home still hungry. My cheeseburger was completely pink, nasty, nope couldn't do it. Waitress didn't come back to the table til everyone was done eating so of course I'm not gonna order something else. But the fact she tried to say all of their burgers are cooked medium rare when my son's burger and husbands huge ass burger were both fully cooked with no pink at all straight pissed me off. Besides the fact I've ate here before plenty of times and never had my burger ever been pink. She didn't even offer to take the burger off the check, just said oh sorry. Then my daughter who is 10 ordered nachos, the menu has no discription of what's on the nachos and the waitress does not say anything but when the nachos come out they have chopped onions everywhere, not even a heads up, I've been to tons of resturants when the waitress says oh this is what comes on .... Is that okay, but no she couldn't even take the time to do that. Won't be wasting money here ever again $60 for 2 people to eat. read more
