Went yesterday to see the pipes and drums band for early St. Patty's day. My husband and I didn't even make it in the front door! The employee was so incredibly rude that we decided to not even go in and spend any of our money at this business! My husband walked right in without being stopped and the door man stopped me, a woman who is obviously pregnant and told me I would have to pay $5 to get in. My husband then walked out after seeing that I wasn't behind him and the guy at the door then told us both to pay $5 to get in. I don't have an issue paying cover on a busy day but his tone and how rude he was just blew me away. We won't be back. read more

This is the first time i ordered here! i had to wait over 40 mins for an to go order and on top of that when I got home I was missing half of my order. Plus there were no forks or napkins. I really wanted to like this place. The first time I went, it was busy, but the service was pretty good anyway, and we enjoyed the appetizers. The next (and LAST) time I went there with three other people, was a disaster. It was moderately busy and nearly impossible to get any service. When a server (I use the term loosely) finally did show up, we ordered our drinks then she started rushing off before we could order an appetizer. We had to call her back to the table. The appetizer took a very long time to arrive and consequently, it was a very long time before we could place our dinner order. We tried several times to get the server's attention, and even though she walked by our table a number of times, she never stopped and wouldn't even make eye contact. It was just plain weird! Isn't wait staff supposed to WAIT on customers? The food was decent, but not exceptional. That, in combination with the VERY POOR SERVICE, made none of the four of us want to go back there again. read more

Been here a few times, twice to eat. Service is always slow and unfriendly - they need more help. Two bartenders handling everything on a busy Saturday night doesn't cut it. Food is OK for Bar food but nothing special. Drinks are overpriced ($7.50 for a vodka tonic), and they add an automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 6. Go to Doyle's public house in Tacoma for a much better experience. read more

I was looking for a gray Reuben sandwich, I found it. I walked in the door abd the first thing I noticed was the Jameson and Guinness. I asked for a Guinness and it was served with a perfect pour. I looked at the menu abd there it was tagged Reuben. I ordered it abd it was everything i was expecting in a Reuben. The bread perfectly toasted the corned beef hot and still juicy not dried out and the sauerkraut still streaming from the grill. I asked for a side if spicy mustard and just as asked they brought me some deli mustard to add to my sandwich. I didn't need it but it sure worked on the fries that were nice and crispy with just the right amount of seasoning salt. This sandwich was perfect no need to look farther. I'm home. read more

I have gave this place a few tries and have been sadly disappointed everytime. I went during opening week to which I found the staff kinda rude and a very limited menu. The second time I went there with my girlfriend, our waitress was kinda snippy and forgot many things that we ordered. When we asked again for those items she didnt bring all of them to us. When we asked for them it seemed like it was a huge deal for her to get us everything we ordered. Also the owner never came to our talbe the whole time to greet us but stayed at one table the whole time telling rude jokes. We both felt a new place like this should strive to reach all its customers as much as possible to make them feel welcome. Reluctantly and because we bought a google offer coupon for the Twisted Kilt we went back. When we got there it took the waitress a while to get to us and then maybe had 15 people in it already, so not too busy. When she got there we explained that we had a google offer coupon to use to which she said "did you print it off?" My girlfriend said no and she had already pulled the coupon up on her IPhone. Now we both haqve used many Groupons and Living Social coupons and never had a problem just showing it on our phone because all the business needs is the coupon number. She then went asked the owner if she could just write the number down and let us use it. He said no that we would have to go and print it off and come back with it if we wanted to use it. They said it was there policy and how they get paid from the coupon. If thats true how can we use the other things from our phones with no problems? I will not go back here again nor will I recommend it to anyone unless you like rude waitresses and bad service. read more

After trying this place place shortly after they opened and saying I'd never go back because of poor service,I decided to give them another try. Went with my husband and sister for drinks and lunch today and had the best fish and chips! Even their side salad was awesome! The services was great. I have lives I Puyallup my entire life and have been going to this bar for years, whether it is just for food and watch the game or to grab some drinks with friends. Unfortunately, this last time I went I was completely disappointed and appalled. This was the first place my friends went for a girls night and an hour in my friend put her elbow on a table and it tipped and a drink fell off. The "manger" came quickly to clean up and told us that we had to leave because we didn't get out of the way quick enough to clean up even though a bunch of other people walked over it was well. He was a complete jerk and embarrassed my friend so much that she left. He continued to tell me that I was done and need to leave even though I was complete sober. I have never felt so disrespected and humiliated. I have lost respect for this bar and their staff if this is who they make their manager. read more

I must say I was very disappointed. The only reason I am giving even 2 stars is the food was very good. I had the Reuben and my friend the irishdip. It took almost 20 minutes to even get menus and drinks ordered. It really didn't seem that busy but the servers were busy talking to each other and possibly their friends that were there. I did hear that Thursday nights can get that way. I will be back to give it another shot but I will pick a different night of the week. read more

Among my absolute favorite of downtown Puyallup! Crazy atmosphere for sounders games, but I look for times they are a little less busy. Food is good, I have never been disappointed by that. ugh, the service sucks. Servers always seem like they're annoyed that they have to take your order. They're always under staffed. Seriously, usually there's only one person working and it's never a person who can handle that. I always regret going but when I do it's only because the bars surrounding it were too busy. The food was over priced for the quality. The drinks are priced at Seattle prices, come on the place is downtown Puyallup. Seating is very limited, and really only one bathroom, just wrong. First time patron. Thursday, December 27, 2012. I had the corned beef and cabbage for $11. Wow. It was the best I have had in 30 years. Everything was just so good and the prices so modest. My wife had the fish and chips which she did not think was the greatest...but good. Our server was very attentive and pleasant and the person we first met for seating was considerate and attentive. I would really recommend this place for the food. Now the atmosphere? Small, crowded, but clean. Bar with music......not too loud but it is close in there. Stools not chair at tables. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the place, and will take my friends and family for a good meal and a couple of beers. read more

We hit the TK at least once a week, but after last night's terrible experience I won't be coming back on Thursdays. Generally love the atmosphere and the food is pretty good, but the service on Thursday is awful. Would be a five star rating if they had better, consistent staffing (like Waylon) but I won't come back on any nights the "Thursday crew" are working. I have dined here a couple of times and was pleased, as the Irish coffees and Corned beef Hash breakfast were a nice surprise. I give them 2 Stars because we called this past Friday night to see what time they open for breakfast on Saturday morning. The person that answered said 9AM. We agreed to meet up with my daughter and her BF for breakfast at 10 AM. After pulling up at 9:55AM out front, we went to go in and the door was locked. Pretty sad, since we called ahead. My daughter informed me that this had happened to them once before. This could be a great place but they obviously don't have it together enough to count on them. Thankfully we got to try Crocketts for breakfast which was near by and they were amazing! Had to sacrifice my corned beef hash for Crab Benedict...so sad.
