Terrible women bartenders work here. Nice to the men awful to the women. Had about a shot or two " someone bought for me " Was getting along with everyone there and met a few cool people who had been there for a while prior to me arriving. I just moved into a new house in the area and live five minutes up the street and thought this could be a new home bar, any way. About 1015 minutes later had bought myself one. My best friend gives me a FaceTime call. I'm at the bar by myself to be noted and it was an important phone call, not many people sitting around me or in the var at all to be bothered by a phone call so I took it inside. Went to move my napkin and my shot spilt over a bit a complete accident not a drunk accident either. I was a little tipsy not nearly close to drunk. I asked to order another one and she proceeds to tell me how I'm being obnoxious and drunk on the phone and that I'm cut off. Was only on the phone for about 5 minutes and then asked for another. * I did clean up the mess as it only split on the counter where I was sitting * I seen her serve the same people who were buying me shots more shots and shots after they had been there hours longer then be and clearly more intoxicated. Shots back to back Beers back to back but I was all of a sudden cut off? Lol. Pretty weird and bizarre if you ask me. These people were regular, so it makes sense why she gave them special treatment I was not obnoxious. I was not loud. I was not disrespectful until disrespect was given! Lost a local. I finally had the absolute worst breakfast possible! We dropped by the Chalet the other day for a nice breakfast on our way to Watsons. The one star given is for the cleanliness (seemed good) and the very nice server. She didn't have many customers but was very friendly and helpful. But otherwise I would have tried to give zero stars to the restaurant. The breakfast, in one word, sucked. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette, which came with "home fries." I asked for a biscuit instead of toast. My husband ordered chicken fried steak, the home fries, and a biscuit. The eggs in my omelette had not been whipped together, so the whites and yolks were clearly still separated. The mass was browned all over, as it had been cooked too long and slightly burned. Cheese was mounded on top, as if to hide the dry, brown mass. The potatoes looked like they had been burned-- and way too long--in a fryer rather than fried in a pan. They were dark brown and crunchy. And speaking of crunchy, the biscuit was either so stale it was like a crouton, or else they toasted the heck out of it until it was just hard as a rock. My husband's steak was a cubed steak. The gravy was straight out of a Sysco can. Two scrambled eggs were a browned, white and yellow mess. And his potatoes and biscuit were the same as mine- way over-cooked. We were looking forward to perhaps finding another local dive with good food, but this was definitely not it! read more

Where do I begin? It's rough, not very clean and the beer surly isn't cold... cool but not cold... don't expect a frosty mug. Looked over the menu and decided on the small chicken tacos... I didn't actually count them but there were about a dozen, covered in cheddar cheese and 2 sides of sour cream and salsa.... Now get this. They were not chicken, nope, they reminded me of Jack In the Box tacos but smaller. Tasted the same too!! Service was adequate, but not over the top! Beware of the extra service charge that's automatically added to the bill. Hello, what a surprise? Plus the 10% sales tax. A group of five of us went to The Chalet (my first time). The food was good and the waitress was friendly and very funny.

We had dinner here on Tuesday which is one of the chicken nights. That's what my BF ordered and he said it was good. I had a grilled chicken salad. It was no frills as far as what was in it, basically iceburg lettuce with tomatoes and cheese, but it was still good and so was the ranch dressing. Decent beer choices on tap. Place seemed clean. If 3.5 stars was an option that's what I'd give it. read more

I ordered a Philly cheese steak and with extra cheese. The only option is provolone-I prefer white American or cheese whiz. The sandwich was served with Ajou, which was a little odd, but oh well the bun was good, the meat was flavorful and stacked on the bun like a French dip. The onion was grilled but put on the side as you can see in my photo see as well as the green pepper, but not chopped in with the meat how I prefer. The crinkle fries cooked extra crispy are fabulous the environment is clean, neat and friendly. The server was attentive and personable. I probably wouldn't order a French dip again, but I have had other food at this place and it's pretty good. read more

This is pretty basic pub food. We live close so picked up breakfast to take home. It was good, I've definitely had worse and better.

Came in on a Tuesday night, one table with two people and two women at the bar. I've been here before and thought the bloody Mary was good. Tonight's special was chicken and JoJo's. Always a favorite of mine. I get it often at the loose wheel as well as the summit pub, I'm sad to say this chicken was not great. The pieces were so small. I felt like I was eating a Cornish game hen. It said it came with coleslaw on the menu yet I did not get any. The JoJo was literally 3/4 of a potato. It was so big and due to the size I'm guessing was not cooked or soft in the middle but hard and uncooked. Got a refill on an iced tea and was charged for the refill, that was a first, however, I will say the price of the iced tea was a good deal. It's disappointing. It feels like this place could have so much potential. The inside felt clean and comfortable. I would like to hang out here but the food and drinks are mediocre best. Stopped in after a show at the Tacoma Dome. Their one bartender was working both the bar and floor and doing a phenomenal job! We had the wings and fried mushrooms. Both were soo good! Perfectly breaded and fried. Yummy sauces. So glad we took a chance stopping in here. Plan to make it a regular stop. Location wasn't too busy, mixed demographic. Not rowdy at all. We use to love coming here every other day but things changed so much within the last couple of months. Our favorite bartender and server was Ashley! She was seriously what made this place feel like a good time, always smiling and welcoming us by our names but ever since she left the service here has gone down hill! New servers that take forever to take our orders and then some that "forget" our orders while we have been sitting there waiting for an hour. It's ridiculous! I was blown away that we got kicked out!!! It was Saturday around 7:45 me and my buddy got a couple of drinks, all good. Get another round about 8:05. The bartender ask if we are going to watch "the band" (1 guy) we reply with no. "ok well if you stay after 9 I will have to charge you a $5 cover". Ah ok. Well we drink and talk and at 8:35 she says we gotta pay or leave. Now we already cashed out but have about a little more than half to drink. I ask 'I thought you said 9"? She replies "8:30.....9" Well that's a big difference. I won't of ordered another If it was said to me that 8:30 was the time cut off! Any ways, my buddy tries to talk to her about this and she became VERY VERY rude. At one point he says "I'm just trying to have an adult conversation with you" (in a polite manner mind you) she replies with " Well I don't wan to talk to you". Just very rude, very unprofessional and really stupid. There was only like 9 people inside and about 6 on the patio. WHY lose business. I didn't care about ht e1 man band but i though tof getting 1 quick drink before 9 but that was a hard no good buddy. So in conclusion this place SUCKS and I will never be going back to that place. Firs time to visit. Found out on FB that a good band I had heard before would be there. I hung out for the first set, but they were having some feedback issues and explained it was due to a new piece of PA gear. I decided to split after consuming just two well drinks. I handed the bartender a $20 and asked to square up. She gave me $3.00 back. I asked how they could possibly be charging $17 for two wells drinks? (weak at that) She informed me there was a $5 cover fee added for the band. I looked around & NO sign indicating a cover charge in sight. Not on the posters they had for the event, and not on the Facebook notification that brought me by. I have been going to live Proformance's for over 50 years now, and that was a first of its kind for me. I will not be returning to this establishment ever again! read more

We stopped here last Sunday afternoon after passing it up for the past year. Typical sports bar atmosphere and food choices. I ordered the prime rib dip and my bf ordered the Chalegg n bacon. My sandwich was made with cheese, when I asked for it without cheese and butter. However they were very quick to fix it and the sandwich was delicious! Perfect au jus sauce! We have always wanted to give this place a try so we did on a Sunday morning. This is definitely a regulars place. The staff was friendly and nice. The food was good, nothing jumped ot at us as great. Seemed like your average local bar with food. I think the location is the main draw. If you're looking for a local dive bar then this is the place for you. It has a small town vibe as it's on a backroad in a rural area of Puyallup. Nice deck to hang out on and drink a beer or two after work. Service is rare outside so you'll have to go in to order, but it's a friendly staff. read more

I just moved to the area and was super excited to have Chalet as my local bar. I went there for chicken and joes Tuesday and waited over an hour for my food. The server would come over maybe every 30 minutes so we would order at the bar. When we asked how long the food would be she said soon every time. 5 years ago I worked at the school nearby and would come often and the service was wonderful. I have gone to the Chalet for many years, but for some reason, they have raised their prices to a very uncomfortable level. I went in there a few days ago and got 2 5 oz glasses of wine, not even in a wine glass, and my bill was $15.99. I thought she made a mistake until I asked her how much a glass of wine was. She told me $7.00 a glass. That is outrageous!! For a house wine in most places it is $4.50 to $5.00. I could understand maybe if I had a view, music, candles and ambiance, but no. They have also raised there food prices to an amount that is comparable to BJ's which is also very high, but does have more atmosphere!! Excuse me, but I can buy a bottle of the same wine I was served for $8.00. Come on, Chalet people, lower your prices. I will never go in there again!! read more

Let me start this off by first saying that I love the Chalet. I live nearby and have been patronizing for years. It's a fun place hang with friends and the food is great. Five stars for that! But, here's why I am giving two star review.. recently I was treated very rudely by one of the employees, Ashley. I was grossly over-charged when I went to pay for my drink before leaving. She had obviously made a mistake and added someone else's tab to mine. When I inquired about the mistake, Ashley proceeded to angrily call me a liar and accuse me without letting me get a word in edgewise to explain the situation. It was a scene, and it was super weird. I have never received that type of treatment from anyone at the Chalet, or anywhere else for that matter. It was really unbelievable. Like I said, I love the Chalet and will keep coming back, but I thought I would write this review to warn others about this employee. If she happens to be serving you, pay close attention to your bill. I certainly will be. In fact, if I have the option I'll choose another server to get my drinks and food. I'd be more than happy to never run into her again. read more
