The staff is absolutely phenomenal here. The nicest and most organized people. The shrimp, lobster, spicy mac and cheese, and rice are to die for. They season their food super well and I don't think it's too spicy but my in laws did. Their secret sauce on the side goes well with everything. It's always very very clean and the inside is super cool too. A local business that I respect their mission and visit whenever I have a shellfish craving. I'm gf and can't have the banana pudding but my partner and my mom have said it's ridiculously good too. The first time I went to this restaurant which was around the time they originally opened, I was pleased and excited. I've brought a few family members here who came in from out of town on a few different occasions. In the past I ordered the shrimp, steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The shrimp Alfredo was also good. I've been back at least five different times since they first opened and I have to admit the quality of the food has changed a whole lot. I noticed things changed but I continued to come back to support the business. The last three times I went the food was a little too salty to my taste which made it not enjoyable and I wasn't able to complete my meal. These are hands down the best crab legs I've had in Colorado! The TK's special sauce really takes them to another level. I couldn't really tell if the garlic mashed potatoes were like half from a packet and half real but they were good nonetheless. This is the kind of place that you want to go to when you have an appetite! Servings are large and most of the entrees are pretty big. I got the crab and lobster, jolof rice, and asparagus. All really yummy! The secret sauce they have was definitely one of my favorite parts of it all. I don't know what they put in there, but it's delicious. In addition to this, this place is expensive for obvious reasons. Seafood in Colorado should always be taken with a grain of salt, haha. It was seasoned well (hope you like butter) with generous portions. We tried the crab roll, lobster roll, King Crab legs, and the steak. Both rolls were stuffed with meat and the rolls were nicely toasted. My friend devoured her 2 clusters of legs in no time. For sides we got the spicy mac, jollof rice, and corn. Broccoli-steamed with absolutely nothing on it. Not even a punch of salt. I tried to rub it around in the seafood sauce and it tasted like oily broccoli. No flavor picked up only the butter??? That's not how it's supposed to be. I'm used to seafood sauce being an actual sauce blend. When i eat theirs it's like I'm tasting the butter and seasonings separately like they don't cook them together or something. Never knew that was possible Crab-didn't even waste my time trying because everything else was so average I knew it would be too Secret sauce?? Once again it's butter. I paid $3 extra for butter Now assuming this is a black owned joint I'll end by saying still support them. But go in with average expectations and also order with your gut. I'm so glad I didn't try the Mac n cheese. Everyone with sense knows Caribbean joints have the worst Mac & cheese and the pictures alone are proof. This is typical of Denver. The food here is largely unappetizing so when there's a restaurant that offers the slightest sense of flavor ppl go nuts and swear it's the best thing since sliced cake. But you have been warned. My wife and I have had meals from TK's many times since 2022. She is a life-long seafood lover from Maryland. Her standards are high. Colorado being a land-locked state doesn't make it easy to satisfy her tastebuds. You had better believe that TK's meets--even exceeds--her expectations. The food is prepared well and is endlessly rich with flavor. Better yet, the recipes seem to be refined and improved, so it just keeps getting better. Other reviewers claim that it is over-seasoned, and I can only assume that they routinely devour mayonnaise on Wonderbread. I found the atmosphere to be wonderfully convivial, even while waiting in line. I would strongly dispute any claim that the restaurant feels unfinished or seems unwelcoming. Now, I am just a white guy from lowa, so I don't have a refined palette when it comes to seafood. We lowans subsist on corn-fed corn. My wife is a Black Marylander. This is the first seafood restaurant not physically located within sight of an ocean that she has approved in all the years we have been together.
