Loved this place! The chicken was amazing and it was a large piece of chicken too. Highly recommend. We just got it to go and it was still incredible

It's a good time at the Post! My friend has told me about this spot a few times, but I haven't made it here until recently. We walked here on a nice day for the happy hour and sat outside on the back patio. I was really excited! We got a few things off the happy hour menu: $7 margaritas, the loaded fries, wings, the original chicken slider, and a cheddar biscuit off the regular menu. Everything was yummy! If you're even considering the biscuit, you need to get it! Looking at the menu, I feel like it's a little pricer here. However, a lot of their items come with a lot of food, which makes it pretty worth it imo! It seems like the half chicken is quite popular (huge portion size). Be prepared for leftovers! I would love to come back and try some other things. It's always exciting when you have lots of options of delicious food. I feel like they do a good job with just about everything. Server was really friendly, patient, kind, and great!

Post had been on my list of places to try for a long time from seeing them on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and I finally was able to make it there during this visit to Denver. I sat at the bar since I was alone this trip and the service was quick and friendly, but of course I already knew what I wanted to try. Their fried chicken, something I have always loved but was also the main feature on the show. While sitting there two locals on each side of me were super friendly and offered up great conversation, mostly about sports because Ben and his Mom were at the basketball game and I was watching it on their tv and guys tend to notice when women are paying attention to sports, especially when they actually know what is going on. They offered plenty of other suggestions on places for me to try during my visit, if I like places like Post. So not going did I get great service from the staff, my service was from Florida was we also had plenty to talk about but the locals were a great addition to the experience, not to mention the wonderful fried chicken. It was so much food that I had a ton of left overs to take to Ben for after the game and next time it would be something that we would share for sure. There are multiple locations to be able to visit as well.

Decided to come here for a bite and so glad we did. Service is friendly and we were able to sit at the bar without a wait. We have been here before but I think the food has gotten better! I had the rib special and it was delicious- tender, fall off the bone with all my favorite sides- mashers and gravy, slaw, and a biscuit with butter- yum! Ambiance is casual and family friendly- I even had a special Stranger Things drink called the Upside down! Woot!

Came here on a Saturday night at 7pm with the hubs and baby and had no issue getting a table. I did make a reservation around 5:30pm but there were ample open tables inside; outdoor patio may be a different story. We brought our stroller and were easily accommodated. Let's take a second for the decor which I loved. A lot. Quirky but not cluttered. Huge fan of the log light fixtures. I had a 2 for 1 drink voucher - my husband got The Post Old Fashioned (interesting but would've preferred the classic) and I had Self-Mythology: yummy but not all the flavors came through. Our waitress charged us for both but fixed the error with no issue when we pointed it out. Lastly, let's talk food - star of the show. We had the crispy cauliflower appetizer which was perfectly cooked and tasty. I opted for the buffalo chicken sandwich with mac and cheese (creamy perfection). The sandwich was great except for the pretzel bun, which was very disappointing. My husband had the meatloaf and was thrilled with his choice. No desserts this time due to being full, but they sounded great! Looking forward to coming back.

We, my husband and I, travel trying out bbq or southern food restaurants- specifically fried chicken, collard greens and Mac-n-cheese! Well, I can confirm that Post Chicken & Beer here in Denver, CO does not disappoint. This has now become our first late lunch or dinner every trip into CO (which occurs usually 3-4 times per year.) The traditional is moist, served nice and hot (just cooked and fresh), has a nice spice and crunch in its bite. The collard greens have a bit of a sweet and sour type kick with a traditional Flavor. They are excellent however most recently we've noticed an increase of inclusion of stems from the greens. id like to see that reduced again and more focused on the leaves as the primary bite. The chile Mac and cheese has just the right combination of spicy kick blended with the super creamy cheese noodles. The biscuits also have a great flavor as well. The restaurant decor is fun, comfortable and entertaining. They have a bar, high table seating and traditional table seating. The staff have always been friendly, cheerful and nice. This visit we placed a Togo order that was ready in 20 minutes. We ordered a family meal so we would have leftovers for the week at our hotel.

Very cool place for hot fried chicken! Our servers were polite and attentive. I ordered the OG chicken sandwich, tossed in the Nashville hot seasoning, and added a side of waffles. I loved the breading on the chicken! It was well-seasoned and crunchy. The waffles were fluffy and the vanilla was prominent. We split a chocolate s'mores whoopie pie for dessert, which was the perfect end to a fantastic dining experience!

First time since Dec 2024 at the Rosedale location. I noticed prices have increased significantly. I sat a high table next to the front windows opposite the bar to watch one of the NFL Wild Card games. The menu has been modified a bit. I was served by Isabel O. She was quick & efficient. I started with a Tallboy of Townie IPA. A large glass. Smooth hoppy flavor with malt undertones for $11. I got a small Post salad for $12.25; Crunchy romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese and pumpkin seeds with cucumber sticks on top. Very nice. Kitchen was very quick. My Fried Half Chicken ($27.50) showed up only halfway thru the salad. A good deal of food with gluten free wing, drumstick, thigh and breast with mashed potatoes and gravy, a few pickles and a crunchy biscuit. I took the large breast piece home. All good, but the price seemed high. I checked a photo I took of the same dish and the menu from the LoHi location in 2022 that has since closed. That price was $ 17.45 without sides. Effectively a 50% increase. Their range of in-house beers is still a reason to visit, but be careful when getting food.

    Birthday brunch!
    Nina C.

Came here for my friends birthday brunch and had a great experience! Sadly they ended their bottomless mimosas a month or so ago, so that's a bummer. They brought out some complimentary powdered donut holes and jam for us when we sat down, which was nice. I ended up just having water, but my friends each ordered a mimosa, one standard and one with pineapple juice. They were yummy, heavy on the juice, not as heavy on the champagne, but still good. I decided to try the spicy orange chicken breakfast bowl, with grilled chicken instead of fried. It was really good, not spicy at all really, but the ingredients were fresh and the chicken was juicy and well cooked. I tried the chicken tenders as well, and they were really delicious, breaded, but not too much so, and the dipping sauce was yummy. The green chili mac & cheese was also amazing. That one was a bit more spicy, just the right amount of kick. My boyfriend tried the burrito, which is the size of a small baby. Definitely extremely filling, and he scarfed down the whole thing so I guess it's safe to say he liked it. The place has an overall diner field, with retro looking decor and seating. It's a cute vibe, the prices are fair and the food was good. I would definitely come back.

Yum! Just yum! Went here for brunch on a Sunday and it is now a new fav to add into the rotation for brunch places in Denver. As advertised, they do chicken, and they do it very well. Really everything is delicious from the menu. Starting with the donut holes that were compliments of our waiter, to the chicken tenders and house made ranch, to the absolutely delicious mac and cheese with green chili, Post knows how to do delectable comfort food. Best deal in Denver is their bottomless bunch beverages where you can mix and match between mimosas, bloody marys, and espresso martinis. Winning!!

Very delicious comfort food. Sitting here reminded me of a home cooked dinner, the way its smells, the music, the whole cozy atmosphere. I had the "warm hug" it's a hot taddy with chai and rum so so delicious. I also had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and the most delicious butter biscuit. Also super friendly service!!!

Super clean with a great vibe! THIS place in SoBo is phenomenal. Love the gluten free menu choices including fried chicken! And oh, man, it's done so well. We had collard greens, chili Mac and cheese, Bobs Red Mill grits, mashed potatoes and gravy, half a chicken fried, and chocolate chip cookie dip. I even got a 2 for 1 pint of Howdy Beer. Ahhhhhh so good... all of it! We were greeted and sat promptly. Everything came out super fresh and hot. I am surprised at how delicious this mostly gluten free menu is! Everything aforementioned is a must try. I'm gonna finish my beer now. See y'all here soon!

Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.

Laid back vibe and welcoming staff. Nothing pretentious at all. The bartenders were knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Always stayed on top of my drinks. I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious.
