I'd give this place a 3.5 stars so just gonna round it up to 4 stars and give them the benefit of the doubt. Service is great. Staff is friendly. I had the Chicken and Waffles. Unfortunately, the 1st time I had C&W was at Roscoe's and that's what I have to compare it to. Chicken (3.5 stars) was decent, not fresh (probably frozen) but has a nice crisp. Wish it had some seasoning on it. Butter (3.0 stars) was cinnamon but wasn't melting on the waffle. Waffle was decent (3.5 stars). Syrup wasn't as sweet as Roscoe's or Bruxie. So compared to those 2 spots, this place is like 3 stars but given the location (Palm Desert) I'd say 4 stars Chilaquiles were good. Compared to places in San Diego like Cocina 35 and TelaVera Azul, this place would hold its own. I would say 4 stars but given the location, I'd bump that up to 4.5 stars, only way it would be better is if they offered a chipotle sauce. Oh I LOVED it here. Everything was so good. It's first come first serve and we were able to get a table for 10 in about 30 min so I'm not mad about that what so ever. Food was perfect to revive us especially during a brutally hot weekend. It can fit big groups pretty well and I recommend going earlier. Servers and employees were the best. Stopped by Lala's on our way home and I'm so glad I did. We got seated right away(on a Saturday morning). The staff is friendly, the decor is modern, the food is amazing. My daughter and my mom got the breakfast burrito and it was big enough to share. I ordered the huevos divorciados and it was the perfect amount of food, both the green and red salsa had good flavor and it came with a side of chorizo. I also ordered my son a Nutella waffle and it was also a good size. Per my mom the café de olla was really good. The interior is so cute and modern with a bar area where they prepare your drinks and mimosas. We ordered a variety off the menu. Chicken & waffles, chiles rellenos, farmers crepe which is a savory crepe that had pesto, mozzarella cheese, and ham inside, and a sweet crepe that was strawberry, banana, and Nutella. You can even add a scoop of ice cream to your sweet crepe if you wish! Everything we ordered was delicious. The side of bacon was perfectly crispy. We came on an off day. This is just what I'm saying first because of the end of our meal waitress did mention that she was by herself and was slammed. She asked how is everything at the END of our meal, my husband and I looked at each other and we said OK? What did she want us to say? We were not going to go on and on about it, we were ready to leave at that point after having had to ask another server for our Check. I ordered a side of sausage with the chilaquiles. I had to have her send it back before it even hit the table because it was literally burnt little logs. I can't even tell you what it looked like. I wish I would've taken a picture as it was actually laughable. I said please replace that with some bacon and she even said she shouldn't have brought that burnt sausage out to us! We ordered an orange juice. It was from concentrate and thick. I was hoping it was fresh squeeze. We asked for Wi-Fi so my daughter could do her class. Valentines Day Review We've been coming to Lala's since they first opened, so this is coming from repeat customers. Lala's was styled very modern and cute! We waited about 20 minutes and were seated in a booth that was literally taped up. After sitting down, it took around 5 minutes just to place drink orders and another 7 minutes to actually receive them. They have changed their menu three times since opening. Their original menu had a breakfast sandwich which is no longer offered. I politely asked if I could do a breakfast torta or sandwich and was immediately told "no" without any effort to accommodate -- even though they offer a pulled pork torta. I think widening the menu or allowing simple substitutions would go a long way. The menu does start some substitutions can't be ordered, but come on for a sandwich???? lol On a positive note, I ordered the strawberry horchata with no boba and I definitely recommend it. One thing that was concerning: the employee wearing a white shirt with red hearts (blonde hair) prepared multiple drinks and grabbed the tips of the straws with her fingers before placing them into the cups. After seeing that, I removed the straw from my drink. She checked on surrounding tables asking if everything was okay but never came to ours, and we weren't offered a refill while our empty cup sat at the edge of the table. After I took a picture of the drink, she then came over and asked if we wanted a refill. For food, my husband ordered the Americano (bacon, eggs, hash browns) with a side of the Philadelphia waffle, and I ordered the chorizo and eggs. The food was mid at best and my plate was only warm. Additionally, my husband ordered a side of ham with his breakfast dish which is listed on the menu as $7. The portion size did not match the price (photo included for comparison). I understand it was Valentine's Day and busy, but unfortunately this wasn't a one-time experience. We visited last month and experienced the same slow and unfriendly service. It feels like the more popular the restaurant has become, the less the customer service has been a priority. At this point, I don't think we'll be visiting again. read more

Perfectly executed dish! Ordered a strawberry horchata and it was good but closer to strawberry milk than a horchata. Server was friendly and attentive and I didn't have to wait long for my food. Lala's used to be my go to spot, but unfortunately the food has declined tremendously. I've tried to give them more than one chance by coming back but every time is more disappointing than the previous one. Food is always cold and the amount of starch vs protein they serve is ridiculous. My son got The King breakfast (per his usual order) and half his plate was filled with unevenly cooked flavorless hash browns. There was little to no eggs in his meal. His chicken tenders were too chewy, he ended up not eating them. I ordered a sausage breakfast burrito and it was really greasy and AGAIN fully loaded with the same unevenly cooked flavorless hash browns and egg that was not fully cooked alongside 2 pieces of sausage. Truly disgusting. I too, ended up just picking at one half of the burrito and completely discarding the other half. My husband got huevos rancheros and his food came out colder than my son and mine. He also added a piece of steak and it was so tiny and cut up. My husband was beyond disappointed. Service was great as always, honestly, it's the only reason we keep giving Lala's multiple chances. The ambiance and the service are superb but it's not enough to keep coming back and wasting my money. read more

Stop by here on a Sunday morning around 10am with a group of 9 people. We were heading to Arizona from Los Angeles and decided to eat a healthier breakfast than a fast food restaurant. There is tesla charging within walking distance and we found parking right away (no ev charging). Our large group was seated in less than 10 minutes. The staff was friendly and the decor inside just made eating there even better. It just felt cozy. The staff was friendly and haad great customer service. The café de olla was great. I would have ordered another if we didn't have a long drive. The food was great and I did not get any complaints from anyone. The fruits on the crepe and waffle was fresh. I would definitely come back here again. Only reason they get a star taken off is because they only had 2 bathrooms and there was a long wait. Buyer beware...I had such high hopes for this place, but when my husband and I got our food EVERYTHING was cold. Nothing was made to order (pre cooked bacon, pre cooked over easy eggs, precooked potatoes, precooked crepes) and tasted exactly like the free breakfast you get at a mid hotel. The only thing that was warm was the coffee. The staff was nice enough, so I do feel for them a bit because serving people food like this won't keep them employed for very long. It was very loud as it was a Friday morning and the place was full. The hostess and waitress were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was clean despite how busy it was. We both ordered the waffle combo. The waffles were hot and crispy. The bacon and eggs came out just like we ordered. This is a great breakfast spot and everyone around us seemed to be enjoying the food. The menu is extensive. Lala's is in the corner of a shopping center. There is plenty of parking, but it was a very busy shopping center. The restroom was clean and we were very happy with our roadtrip pit stop. Came here with my cousin before a quick trip down south. So just wanted something simple and possibly quick breakfast. It was simple but it did take a while to receive our food. It was somewhat busy, the inside is a good size and the seating is good for some sort of privacy. The aesthetic inside is nice and simple. Unfortunately you can tell the place was understaffed by where we were sat and that there wasn't any host and you saw the three same ladies do everything on the floor. Plus the usual with what comes with that. A little longer wait for food and sometimes little things have to wait a bit or remind the server, but nothing horrible. The menu prices and options were what you expected. The crepes of course usually being a bit overpriced for what you get but it was good but not filling. Why I got the combo but even then I did leave a bit unsatisfied. But I am giving it 4 stars because my cousin really liked what he got and it did look intense and good. So he really enjoyed it and why I bumped it up. It's a nice place to check out, it didn't really stand out to me compared to other places.
