When I was coming to Palm Springs and looking for places to try, and Gabino's kept coming up as a recommendation, especially for the savory crêpes. So I decided to give it a try. I went with the chicken crêpe since that's what was recommended to me, and the staff also suggested it. Honestly, the chicken was okay, but it was really tough and hard. The crêpe was also very oily. I was actually the first customer there in the morning, so I wasn't expecting it to be that oily. The place itself is really cute, and the staff was friendly. There was no wait, which was nice. I also saw that some celebrity chefs have visited, so I can definitely see why this place gets a lot of attention. I just wish the food had been better. I had heard so many good things and was looking forward to trying it, but unfortunately it didn't really hit the spot for me. Amazing restaurant! When we walked in, the place only had a few people inside dining. The atmosphere was calming and the workers were friendly and eager to help. I ordered quesadillas and the fiesta fries. The food tasted great--although the quesadilla was 90% cheese and barely any tortillas. Later, I tried both flavors of the soft serve, mango and matcha. The matcha was delicious and creamy while still having that rich flavor. The mango soft serve came with a passion fruit crumble that helped to add dimension to the mango. Not much to say that hasn't already been said! We ordered the chicken caesar and buffalo chicken. Both were delicious! We did an online pick up order and it was ready within 15 minutes, which was nice because it turns out we were closer than we thought so we arrived earlier than the estimated finished time. I understand the criticism regarding the oiliness of the crepe itself, but I dont think its a deal breaker and I would just make sure you grab a few napkins. read more

Just tried Gambian's over here in La Quinta (in Old Town LQ) and it was amazing!! My husband went and picked up one Chopped and one chicken Cesar wrapped in a crepe. It was a bit tricky to find at first since it's tucked away in a walkway, but there is a sign on the main street letting you know where they're located. Once we spotted it, we were so glad we made the effort. We were greeted by a very friendly young man who struck up a conversation with us and took the time to explain the different types of crêpes. He also described how they're finished with a flavorful outer layer of cheese and chimichurri, which immediately caught our attention. We decided on the chicken pesto, although it was honestly hard to choose because everything looked so good. When our crêpe came out, it looked just as beautiful as the pictures. And the taste? Amazing. It somehow managed to be fresh and flavorful with just the right amount of richness at the same time. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but it absolutely satisfied our craving and we practically inhaled it. It was raining the day we visited, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor tables, but I loved the Tupac quote and the rose detail outside. Such a cool touch. Very respectful crew. So each savory crepe is 16 bucks. Totally worth it. So much flavor and love in each bite. I ordered the chopped cheeseburger and my wife got the chicken ranch and we both shared the Nutella banana crepe for dessert. All were fantastic! I'm just bummed I didn't get to take a photo of the banana Nutella crepe. Let me put it this way. It didn't last. So the crepes got this crunchy outer layer. So texture wise. It's unique. Tried this during Coachella weekend and honestly, so good. We got the Chicken Pesto and the Chicken Caesar, and both were absolutely delicious. Absolutely delicious!!! I had the BBQ Chicken Crepe and my sis had the Chicken Caesar Crepe; both were fantastic! The crepes are grilled both Parmesan on one side, so you get that crispy deliciousness in every bite! The seating area holds a decent amount of people and is shaded. We weren't sure if there would be seating with this being a small, walk-up place, so that was a pleasant surprise. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they were sold out of most of their drinks when we went at 3:30 on a Saturday and the table was dirty when we sat down, so I had to get some napkins to clean it off. However, I did see a guy come out and clean the other tables as we were finishing eating, so I think we just got there before he had a chance to clean ours. The food is consistently amazing, and you can tell the team in the kitchen really cares about what they put out. Today I decided to order through DoorDash and accidentally ordered the wrong item (completely my mistake). DoorDash wasn't much help, so I called the restaurant directly and spoke with Joe. The staff is always so pleasant and they know their menu to address allergens (always a plus). My go to order is the BBQ chicken with pickles, you won't regret it! The crepe is crispy and not soggy so it holds up well, bite after bite. Portions are generous, so come hungry! They've expanded their operations to more days and hours and I cannot wait to enjoy the crepes for dinner and not just for lunch.
