    Margarita flight
    Alyssa C.

We came in on Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy but our service was pretty slow. It took a while for our waitress to stop by our table. We had eating almost a half basket of chips before our drink order was taken. We ordered two kids meals, chicken tacos, chicken flautas, and queso. The salsa has some spice and was good, the queso was good the kids enjoyed their meals. The pulled chicken in the flautas and tacos tasted pretty dry. I think the margarita flight flavors may have changed since the menu was made. We didn't see much of our server and she came and rushed to take plates away when people were still nibbling and talking. We ended up getting refills from someone else walking by since our waitress wasn't around.

My first visit and thought it was delicious. We shared an order of vegetarian fajita nachos. (I added black beans) the service was great and the atmosphere was festive. Will definitely go back.

Another visit to the local "go-to" Mexican spot. Service is quick and efficient, if brusque. Menu is enormous; all the staples are there. Warm chips and house-made salsa served within seconds of seating. Margaritas are big and perfectly blended. Portions are big, ingredients are fresh. There aren't any exotic new age dishes on the menu, just solid old-school Mexican standards done right.

Since moving to Wake Forest I have been looking for my Go-To Mexican restaurant and I might just have found it! We went to Tlaquepaque on a Friday night and while it was busy there was no issue with being seated. You walk in, they are playing Spanish music and you automatically feel a sense of culture. We started off with a few mixed drinks a Cantarito & a Spicy Marg both which came out delicious and not to mention beautiful. We ordered fresh guacamole which is hand made in front of you at market price. I ordered the special of the evening the Birria Pizza and not only was it delicious but also stunning, Tlaquepaque doesn't skimp on presentation. Our entire table enjoyed their time and we can't wait to try more of the menu!

It was busy and took a while to get our name in, but once we did get seated everything came quickly! Food was good.

Oscar Torres is our favorite ! He always goes above and beyond for us ! no one makes our guacamole or deserts like him ! He is the reason we keep coming back !

This place was good! The waiter was kind and attentive, even during rush hour. He was polite and friendly when speaking and made us feel welcomed. The food itself was also delicious. Nothing crazy to make the place stand out but definitely good enough for me to return. The venue itself is well kept and clean, which makes the experience that much better.

Food was outstanding. Table side guacamole was amazing. I ordered online and it's definitely not the same. I will only eat at their restaurant from now on instead of ordering online.

To a New Yorker, this spot is subpart. The food was not bad but it wasn't mesmerizing. Nothing really to rave about or tell others. Here is the Deal, its clean, priced decently and great service. You ger tricked by the avocado on the table and then they take it away to be made.. what gives???? 5 adults and 2 children so you can understand the range of plates and food ordered. It's meh for us but if you are in the area and need ok food that will not kill your wallet nor make you sick.. Ps: do not order the sangria, its so watered down that water gets you more tipsy

TLDR: Flavorful, large entrees with efficient service. I don't think I have seen a restaurant so busy, yet so efficient before. Yes it was taco Tuesday so maybe that was why everyone was out. The tables were consistently full with several pushed together to accommodate large parties as more customers piled in. Nonetheless, the employees were somehow still bringing out dine-in and takeout orders accurately and in a reasonable amount of time. We were seated at a large table near the front. Our waiter was incredible. I don't know how he kept everything straight, but somehow he did. I liked how the menu included pictures. The food pictures were all so tempting. After flipping through the menu multiple times, I decided on the Fajitas Tropicales. Others in my party already ordered chips, salsa, and guacamole. The guacamole ingredients and mortar are set up at the tables in advance and covered in plastic wrap. Then if you order guacamole they prepare it at the table. I enjoyed the fajitas and took home leftovers. I only wish there was more pineapple in the dish. I thought since it would be served in half a pineapple, that the portion of pineapple removed would be included. Instead only 3 pieces of pineapple were in the dish. Overall we enjoyed our meal and recommend this restaurant to others!

After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. The two of us spent $76 (including tax and tip), but we intentionally ordered extra to take home leftovers. Parking was easy, right out front, and the restaurant itself is spacious. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, not heavy or greasy, and we left with enough for another one or two meals. We'll definitely be back.

Once…read moreyou're inside, everything around you is bursting with colors and culture, definitely different than brown walls with a few pictures on them. Even the booths were creatively decorated. Our waiter brought us some chips and salsa. The chips were good, they held up well to the salsa and did not break. They probably could have used a bit more salt, but they were very crunchy, not too thick and freshly made. The salsa was ok, not as much flavor and a little thinner consistency than I prefer after visiting some other similar restaurants, but not bad at all. My wife had he Burrito Supremo and I had the Burrito California. Wow, they don't skimp on the portions!!! Large burrito, with lots of meat, I was so happy to see that! Well seasoned meat. I substituted the rice for the beans on my order. The pico de gallo was a nice addition inside of the burrito to cut through some of the heaviness of the meat and cheese, but I felt there was not enough of it. However, I found a solution. The green salad was mainly a mixture of roughly chopped bell pepper, white onion and shredded cheese with a little bit of lettuce. I don't think I could have eaten the salad by itself as I felt the amount of onions was too much on a salad, but I opened the burrito and added the onions and peppers to it and that really helped an already very tasty burrito! The additional flavors from the onion and peppers were great, as well as the texture contrast from the meat. The meat was very tender; there was no chewing on tough steak. The cheese added some richness and fat. My wife echoed my comments about the size of the burrito and the tenderness and flavor of the steak. She also enjoyed the black beans, which had a lot of flavor and mixed well with the rice on the side. We both had leftovers to take with us as there was so much food. It's definitely a good value: reasonable prices, large portions and great tasting dishes. We'll definitely return and make sure to try some new items next time!

It's a typical Mexican restaurant menu, with all of the standards - tacos, burritos, etc. Warm chips and house-made salsa are served at seating. Drinks from the bar are huge. One of the specialty drinks needed re-made because it just wasn't right, but the margaritas are spot-on. Portions are big, food is fresh and served piping hot. Stuffed jalapeños were pretty good, but not sure they are house made. The shrimp burrito is STUFFED with plump, flavorful shrimp and vivid pico de gallo. Refried beans, rice all very good. Definitely will add to the rotation.

Our waitress was awesome, she was friendly and quick with the service. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were delicious. Unfortunately, those were the only two things we enjoyed about Aye Toro. The food was extremely bland, almost flavorless. When my husband and I took our first bites, we both looked up at each other and both knew exactly what the other was thinking. There was no spice, nothing. Mexican food is supposed to be flavorful but this was like...boiled chicken without the spices. For $17 for a plate of bland food, I was super disappointed and felt like I wasted $80 for the night (two meals and two margaritas with a 20% tip). When we come back for trivia, we might stop by for margaritas beforehand but I can't imagine Aye Toro staying in business if they keep serving flavorless meals. I know this review is harsh but spending that kind of money on this lackluster dinner is even harsher.
