Though the meat was a little bit oily from the marinade, it was extremely tasty and so filling I couldn't even finish the whole thing. There were 4 large pieces and the price was very reasonable IMO (I believe $12?) and I was very happy with my experience. The order came out quickly and I would definitely go back! The only thing I found a little weird was the $1 charge for a small side of sour cream - but I was okay with this since the price of the quesadilla itself was reasonable. read more

Whenever I try a new taco place, I like to try several meats. I tried the asada, al pastor, and chicken tacos at this taco truck. The chicken and al pastor tacos were flavorful and tasty. Each taco was street taco-sized, but contained a hefty portion of meat. Personally, my favorite was the chicken taco. It was flavorful and was savory. However, the asada taco tasted a little bland and unflavored. I had to drown the taco in sour cream to make it more palatable. But I would definitely go back to this food truck for more chicken and al pastor tacos. Everyone seemed friendly and the prices are somewhat reasonable. Awww dang... I don't like leaving bad reviews but the service we got tonight is just not ok. We ordered Asada fries to share and when my friend asked for forks to eat said fries, a fork was given to her with attitude. Then the Window shut in her face. I understand perhaps having a long day but why treat people like this? Asada fries were ok. They have nacho cheese and some other kind of cheese. The Asada was more like ground beef texture and the seasoning wasn't my favorite. Another friend went back to order a chicken quesadilla got the same rude treatment. No friendliness whatsoever and simply uncomfortable interactions for no reason. I love to support small businesses but service is everything. Kinda ruined my appetite. read more

Purchased a chicken burrito and a fish tacos, the burrito was a good size, however, the first bite was grizzle bone. The firs bite was also my last bite as I was totally turned off by what was in the first bite The trash can got the benefit of my $13 burrito. My wife had the fish tacos which she did not finish as they were mediocre and tasteless. A total waste of $30 and we were left hangry, but healthy. read more

Shrimp burritos. With a juicy layers of savory excellence. Some special sauce that is unique to Gio's. If you like seafood at all, do NOT MISS Gio's shrimp burritos! I want to say they are life-changing, but it's safer to say, I look forward longingly to each trip to Gio's to get my hands on their shrimp burrito. They are so large, it's almost too much for me to handle--almost--don't touch mine while I'm working on it! Pairs beautifully with the coconut porter at Leashless. Also, Gio's homemade salsas are fabulous and unique as well. My teen daughter loves their chicken tacos, and their nachos look fabulous with a hefty smothering of guacamole. Portions are generous and prices are lower than average at Gio's. Also, the staff are so sweet--they would be lovely to have working your next event, I'm thinking. We LOVE Gio's! read more

I was a little bit irritated, having skipped lunch and was dreadfully hungry when I stopped by in here... And of course, the guy right in front of me had four or five orders they had to come out for us! But good Lord, is this place worth it with or without the weight. I ordered birria - and it is full on authentico. One example of Mexican cuisine, like Malay, that is potentially life-changing when it's done right, or can cause a weeks worth of tears when it's done poorly. I will definitely be stopping by here every time I am in town, I live about half hour from here but all of the seafood dishes and everything else looks to be the same extremely high quality as what I got. We have been to Leashless Brewing a few times, we love their beer. This particular day we decided to order some food from Gio's taco truck, my husband ordered the carne asada nachos and he love them, he said they were the best nachos he's ever had, their salsas have excellent flavor. I ordered two birria quesatacos and they were absolutely delicious!!! They serve it with a little bit of consomé so you can dip your taco in it. The flavors were amazing I was very impressed with their food; and I'm a picky eater. There are only a couple if places in Ventura to get good Mexican food and Gio's taco truck is our new favorite place. This place is highly underrated. I eat here every week and they always make me something fantastic. I usually order off the menu: whole bean tacos or burrito with onions, cilantro, and spicy salsa. The food is so clean and delicious. Their chips and guacamole are fresh and fantastic. Tonight, they didn't have any quac, so the lady made it for me! That's service. We love Gio's, come here one a week. We found Gio's due to Covid and always going to Leashless Brewing. Since they are in the parking lot to abide by state standards for Leashless, it's a wonderful combo. We love their food and obviously Leashless beers. The ceviche is off the chain, one of the best I have had, the quesadilla my son loves (perfect amount of cheese and chicken) and today we tried the asada fries. Food doesn't have any flavor whatsoever. The meat, the rice, and the beans had no seasoning. Very disappointed. The lady who takes orders also doesn't like to give any extra sauce or when you request grilled onion/serrano. They seam cheap. I told her she can charge me more if that's the case. read more
