Was optimistic, loved the vibe. However, housekeeping must have forgotten to clean the restroom as there was hair on the shower walls, floor, shelves, and most grossly, literally on the wall all around the door casing. Not sure how much hair could be missed. Photos do not do things justice. Front desk staff didnt seem too worried about it upon checkout either sadly.

Beautiful interior and so well preserved!!

A beautifully restored and maintained piece of local history - with some seriously creepy vibes!! If you like to take your chances with ghost encounters, this is the place to do it lol!! I stayed in room 101 and didn't have any issues so if you're a chicken like me, the staff assured me that room has had ZERO reports of paranormal activity haha! This gorgeous 35-room inn was built back in 1911 and has hosted some serious star power back when Santa Paula was a Hollywood hotspot - such as John Wayne, Charlie Chaplin, and even Houdini!! The walls of the halls are positively covered in old movie posters and antiques abound in every corner - it's so fun to peruse the grounds - it's like a museum! But people don't come for that - they come to see ghosts! This inn is so famous for its paranormal activity that it's been featured on Ghost Adventures, The Dead Files, and in books and blog posts etc. Your best chances of an otherworldly encounter are in rooms 307 or 308. The 3rd floor used to be a gambling parlor, speakeasy, and house of ill repute back in the old oil boom days apparently. Room 307 was where an unfortunate cowboy got murdered during a card game and room 308 was where a "lady of the night" named Rose was murdered after a business transaction in the brothel :-o Their website provides more detail about their murders - but they're pretty gruesome so I'll let you read them at your own risk lol! I did muster up the courage to wander up to the third floor after dark and it's definitely super creepy! As you reach the top of the stairs, you're greeted with a chair full of antique dolls - I don't scare terribly easy but these dolls gave me the chills lol. The staff told me that they placed only one of the dolls up there and have no idea where the others keep coming from - yikes??!!! The hallways are long and dark and it's dead quiet (no pun intended LOL). My room - 101 - was very spacious and cozy though and a welcome retreat lol. The bed was super comfy and it had a couch, fridge, microwave, and automatic drip coffee maker. The coffee wasn't too bad for a hotel coffee. But the huge touch was there was a FAN!! I'm a fan sleeper and they had one in the room and I slept SO GOOD!! Such a nice touch and one you don't see too often. They have a popular Italian restaurant onsite and a Yelp check in offer of free martinis. They have a handicap accessible ramp in the back parking lot entrance - but this inn is very old and I only saw stairs for access to the upper floors - so if you have mobility issues, I recommend a first floor room. All the staff were wonderful to me - and their prices were surprisingly very decent. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't have staff onsite at night until 8am. I checked out early and they just have you leave your keys on the desk - anyone could enter your room - it's not secure. So I made a checkout video just in case. All in all I had a very fun and interesting stay - it's a great location in Santa Paula's historic district and I'd consider staying again.

We went here about a couple months ago then came back excited to go to the restaurant and get the delicious tiramisu and chocolate mousse again to find out that they did not have any.... Their menu was also very restrictive when we went and did not have many meat to choose from. Although we haven't stayed at the hotel we have walked around it and it's very interesting and spooky! We really like the vibes that the hotel gives off and how all the workers have stories to tell! We do really like this place but if you go here don't expect them to have what to would like on the menu.

Enzo's within the Tavern Inn is excellent. The service is above average, the ambiance is great and the food is wonderfully delicious. You can't help but love the vibe! The bartender is more than willing to dish out history and exciting stories. He makes a mean martini too! Enzo's inside the Glen Tavern Inn is worth a visit and every penny you spend to eat and drink there. Don't forget to visit the third floor and walk by Room 307 .. I felt the presence, maybe you will too.

This place is the cutest! And the food at Enzo's was to die for every night. Order their new pesto chicken pasta and you won't regret it!

What a lovely hotel! A dark brown historic Tutor-style structure--like a lodge or chalet--erected in 1917 near the now gone train depot, this landmark is right next to the agriculture museum just blocks from the historic downtown. Rumored to be haunted, the third story was once a brothel and speak e

We love this restaurant! We love the atmosphere, the music, the service, the food! Our server Jonathan was the best we've ever had, really took care of us. And the food was the most amazing, we were blown away with every bite. Will definitely come again

The haunted aspect made up for food. I got the spaghetti bolognese and it was OK. Not impressed. We walked around the hotel and it was very creepy but we didn't stay they night. There was a door on the second floor with at we walked into and there always a loud hissing noise. Check your battery when you come here because it drains so quickly! This place is definitely haunted.

The location is excellent -- close to Main Street and within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly, and the property looks like it has been recently renovated and freshly painted. There are nice updates throughout, and the little garden patio is a pleasant place to sit. We booked a room with two queen‑size beds, but the room itself was quite small, and the bed we slept in was definitely not a queen. It felt like a standard double, which made it uncomfortable, especially with my husband being a larger man. The mattress itself was also extremely uncomfortable and left both of us with back pain. Once we settled in, we noticed several maintenance and cleanliness issues. The bathroom tile walls hadn't been cleaned -- my husband was able to scrape dirt off with his fingernail. The electrical outlets were so old, that they didn't hold the plugs anymore, the plugs kept falling out, mismatched, and in poor condition, which stood out even more against the fresh paint. The toilet had a standard bowl with an elongated seat that didn't fit properly, and the bolts were rusted. The ceiling fan wobbled violently because the blades were unbalanced, and it made a loud clicking sound whenever it was on. The continental breakfast was also disappointing. There were a few tiny muffins, almost‑empty orange juice, and a single slice of bread left. It didn't appear that anyone monitored or refreshed the breakfast area. Overall, while the staff was kind and the property has charm, the room quality and maintenance issues didn't match the price we paid through Hotels.com. With a few improvements, this could be a great little inn, but as it stands, it felt overpriced for the experience. I am giving it 3 stars, but it maybe should be 2 stars.

We took "Slim" up to Sequoia National Forest and it was the perfect home away from home in the woods. Despite being loaded with gear, the van had a lot of get-up-and-go on the freeway and handled surprisingly well on the twisty mountain roads. The van was basically brand new (lucky us!), and was fully stocked with all the essentials. The bed was super comfy and the house battery never dropped below 85 despite us being parked in a wooded area for most of the trip. We found the 20 gallon fresh water tank was the perfect amount for about 4 days of dishes and misc. But you could definitely stretch that if you're careful. Wade is a gracious host and his service is very responsive. He coordinated with us for pickup and was flexible on the details, and even let us know that we'd left some items in the van.
