    Egg sandwich
    D O.

Staying on the East End, we were delighted to find TLC Kitchen for a quick and delicious custom sandwich and coffee. The Jalapeno Cheddar bread was delicious!! Eggs were fluffy and bacon was crisp. We found the staff friendly and our favorite part was the iced coffee - we will try to duplicate at home but I know it won't be the same. Can't go wrong here!

Great island vibe and great food! Highly recommend fish tacos and nachos (they will easily feed 4 or more!).

Great stop for lunch on STX. Had a sandwhich built to order that hit the spot before heading over to the beach.

La Terrazas Bar & Restaurant is not your typical "Santo Bar". While they do have many of the traits, they also offer a lot more in terms of their menu options. To find them, leave Sunny Isles, drive past the traffic light heading south and you will find them 2 blocks down, on the left side of the road. Look for the open patio with a yellow food truck in the back. They have spacious open-air seating with enough room for a dancefloor too. Group seating will be tricky because they don't have big tables, but you can always combine the tables & tall chairs to accommodate your groups. Their bathroom is also very clean too. Although the staff speaks predominantly speaks Spanish, don't that deter you, because they have English menus. I recommend anything with their camarones (shrimp) & garlic sauce. Their tostones weren't half bad and their stew chicken was delicious. I also loved their mofongo (fried plantains) and mangu (boiled plantains). They also have a full bar and fair prices. I highly recommend their mamajuana for $5. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and recommend it if you're in the area and want a chill place to vibe out.

Don't waste your money at 40 Stand or Toast, a better alternative is here! I had the Cajun shrimp eggs benedict and it was incredible! My wife had the avocado toast- another amazing dish. I literally can cooks eggs and bacon for a month on a standard breakfast for 2 people at a restaurant. I don't even really like brunch. I think most places have the dishwasher cook brunch. I usually get dragged to brunch by my wife. Almost exclusively I'm disappointed. So your probably saying why the 5 stars. This is competently good food. For example you can usually judge a place by Caesar dressing. For those who haven't made Caesar it's pretty easy to make. But it's easier to slop some out of a jug made by Cisco. Not here it's the real thing. Properly prepared shrimp and grits. Delicious iced coffee. Naan Pizza. For the people the that have to have breakfast food the have all that. Eggs and bacon and whatnots. They really take pride in what the serve. The atmosphere is really nice. Air conditioned. They have beer, wine, and hard liquor. But so does the hardware store down here. So the next time you go to toast and there are 73 people in a space designed for 8, swing up the block to Josephine's. Who are you resist?

Sorry, no pictures.... it had fresh basil pesto and the tomato sauce drizzled around it, cheese was melted into the crust with riccata spread around. Fantastic thin crispy crust. I'm an open-minded eater who travels a lot and will happily try almost anything--but even I met my match here. I ordered the jerk chicken plate with slaw and mac n cheese. The chicken was dry, but honestly the best part of the meal, which is saying something. The mac n cheese looked and tasted like it had been abandoned hours (or days?) ago--curdled, cold, and topped with a crust that could double as a roofing material. The slaw? One bite was all I could manage - a first in my 35 years on earth. A friend described it as "looks like slaw, tastes like a plastic bag," and I wish I could disagree. My partner's chicken salad sandwich didn't fare better. The bun was burned so black it looked like it had been broiled by the Caribbean sun itself, and the chicken salad had a sour tang that overpowered everything else. My friends shared the brisket plate; the brisket was good (truly!), but the sides were a continuation of the theme: barely edible at best. We ended up at a grocery store afterward, scavenging crackers and cookies to survive the night--never a great sign after paying Virgin Island prices for dinner. For what it's worth, the restaurant next door, Surf Club Cantina, was excellent. Do yourself a favor: eat there, and steer clear of Johnny Lime.

We were able to find street parking right upfront, but it can get tricky. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman and by a beautiful view of the houses on the hills. The view and vibe alone deserve 5 stars. The issue we had was the wait time. We waited close to an hour for our food. If we weren't so hungry and tired after a day of exploring, we would have just cancelled the order and left. We tried the shrimp appetizer and it just didn't up meeting expectations based on the menu description. My friend had the mahi sandwich while I had the mahi entree with mashed potatoes and plantains. The mahi in the sandwich was a bit dry, but my entree was pretty good. However, definitely not worth the one-hour wait or the cost. Overall not a bad experience and worth a try, but go there with lots of patience hahaha. Also, note that 20% gratuity is included regardless of group size.

We had a pretty large party with us, and they put together a table for us pretty quickly. However we were warned that the wait after our order would be longer than usual because of our size and accomodation. (Nothing a few bottles of wine couldn't fix!) The bar was stocked with basic essentials, nothing over the top but lovely enough to get everyone a cocktail or preferred beer/wine. The food menu had a good variety for everyone to have something interesting they could eat! Not everything came out perfectly, or even at the same time, but they were willing to accommodate everyone's needs and fixed a wrong order very, very quickly for us! Everyone who had ordered the mahi and salmon loved it, it felt fresh and zesty paired with onions and peppers. The shrimp dish was lovely and mild, as was the tamarind chicken. They were willing to accommodate some specific needs and made plain grilled chicken for someone who needed it. The rasta pasta had a bit of a little bit of spice to it, which was fun for an island take on pasta as a vegetarian option. They did have a vegan option with a veggie burger that came in a pita. The sides were all great, the fries and mashed potatoes were amazing, and the rice/beans were good as well. Unfortunately because we sat down close to 8, some menu items on the dessert menu were out. This lead us to the rum cake, which came out WARM and was absolutely delicious! If we stayed nearby again or needed a meal close to town, I would consider this a cute and reliable restaurant.
