I have been taking my dogs to TLC Veterinarian Hospital for many years. I have only had one unhappy experience in all that time. I get good dental cleanings there and spay and neuter procedures when needed. The fees are reasonable and my dogs come back to me happy. I used to show and breed my dogs so I had a good number of them. I am down to three now and no more breeding or showing. read more

my dog lucky has been a patient here for five years normally service was good .lucky is sick not eating or drinking has some trembling. they could not see him for one week. they recommended we go to an emergency center . only one open in mobile is downtown on government blvd. I live in west mobile county and it is a hardship to go that far but have no choice. I am now looking for a new vet . I will not go back to TLC. read more

Do not, under any circumstances, use this clinic. Brought my new puppy here for an exam and round of shots a couple of weeks ago. Was barely greeted by the staff, and the vet tech informed me that the doctor wouldn't be able to see my puppy because she was going into surgery. Instead, they took him back to her for under 2 minutes and I left with a $200 bill and no opportunity to see/talk to the doctor. A couple of days ago, my puppy started drinking water excessively, acting lethargic, dribbling on the floor and ignoring his food. So I scheduled an appointment for today to have him checked out, thinking my experience might be different. Though the techs are nice, I do not pay $200+ per visit to never see or talk to the Veterinarian. They took us to an exam room, but every time my puppy needed to be examined, have an ultrasound, have blood drawn, etc, they took him to the back for the vet to see him, then the tech came out and relayed whatever the vet said. They took him back three times. When the tech came back with antibiotics (for what, we don't know - they never gave any sort of diagnosis), she let us know that they had taken it upon themselves to give him a shot for pain. He was not in any type of pain....and I said that multiple times when we arrived. When I looked up the type of shot after we left, it is not even supposed to be given to puppies under 6 months old - he is 11 weeks. I am mad at myself for letting this happen, but I paid and left without a word. Do not use this clinic if you'd like to actually meet/see at licensed Veterinarian and give consent for any medical treatments before they happen. read more

I'm at a loss about the negative reviews here. I've recently moved to the area and had TLC recommended to me. Love this place! Everyone is very nice and they genuinely care about the animals! First time visit was a dental cleaning. First, price was very reasonable considering the prices at other vets. Second, they took excellent care of my dog. He was not over sedated like usual and did very well with recovery. They called several times to update on what they were going to do and when they were done to let me know how it went. I also received a call the next day just to check on my dog. That was a first! The office is very clean, staff was very nice and caring. This was the first vet office I have been in that didn't stink! Normally the smell is awful, like a litter box. I didn't smell a thing here! We will be back for future visits! read more

So I got my dog fixed, surgery went fine. They sent him home with a cheap plastic cone that cut into his skin and had a huge swollen knot. The surgeon wasn't in at TLC, so had to take him to a vet close by, had to be put to sleep to see what was wrong with neck. Turns out it was a bacterial infection from the cheap plastic cone with no liner. When I called the receptionist at TLC to tell her what happened, so this doesn't happen to any other dog. She was defensive and said this has only happened to 1 other dog. I tried to tell her maybe tell anyone getting dog fixed to go by the pet store, and at least get a cone with a liner or a pillow that goes around their neck. She had zero empathy for what my dog is going through, and was super defensive. We are getting my dogs stitches out next week, and will not be going back. read more

Judging from the prior reviews of TLC, this used to be a good vet. Not anymore. What ruined this practice is the cantankerous, curt, incompetent front-desk staff. They are a misery to interact with. On intake, the older lady missed half our paperwork, too busy socializing and petting the animals; the other 3 just stood around; and the woman who "helped" was boorish, demanding to know why I was there, demanding paperwork from a vax drive I'd taken my pets to, even though the rabies cert hadn't come in the mail yet, all the while being seemingly unable to find the information on my dogs, you know, because she didn't look. So, they're rude, disorganized, and can't find their own files, but they can take a 'tude with you because you didn't bring in a rabies cert you haven't even gotten yet? Yes, and why does it take 5 people to stand around and do nothing??? So, they made us come in for a yearly heart-worm test, you know, because they like to hold your dogs' required heartworm meds for ransom. They rudely demanded to know why we were there, and then asked if my dogs were heartworm positive. YES! And you would know this if you could be bothered to look up the information. My wife happened to be fasting for a colonoscopy the next day and was faint, but they kept grilling her like the Grand Inquisitor for information they could've simply looked up on their computer. Ironically, Torquemada wasn't this lazy! Yes, well, no one expects the Spanish Inquisition...at least not at their vet. $80 later for a heartworm test, yup, we already knew they had heartworms, they tell me to double up on my dogs' heartworm meds. Ok, so we went home and tried to order enough Heartguard for both dogs for a year. By this time, my wife had been diagnosed with colon cancer and was very sick, but once again, they held my dogs' heartworm meds for ransom, and as always they argued with her and we had to call several times to get it approved. I tried to order twice the amount of Heartguard as commanded by the TLC staff, but they couldn't seem to do the math and understand that's how much I needed to order. I ended up only getting a 6-month supply (Again, twice the Heartguard they needed would've looked like a 4-year supply because 2 dogs x twice the meds for a year. How hard is that?) because they wouldn't approve more. Worse, one nasty woman was incredibly rude to my wife on the phone, barking at her that she didn't know what she was talking about when she tried to explain the double heartworm med instructions TLC themselves had told us to do! So there's a winning combination: Stupid and ill-tempered. Have you ever heard the adage "Be kind, everyone you meet today is fighting a battle"? Yes, well, the battle my wife was fighting when she had to engage these hostile pit vipers at TLC was CANCER! Which reminds me, I had an actual Cottonmouth on my lawn the other day that wasn't half as ornery as the TLC staff, I kid you not. Yes, you at TLC aren't just incompetent, lazy, and acidic to your paying customers, you seem to be awful, awful people. So why don't you go and take your venom out on the people you're actually mad at and leave your poor, defenseless customers alone. Oh yeah, and you're fired! As an aside, I'm going to take my dogs to Town & Country Animal Hospital. They're the folks who did my dogs' rabies/parvo vaxes at a drive-through vax clinic at the Semmes middle school. Those folks were courteous, competent, well-organized and got the job done all at cost for the vaccines, because they clearly care about animals and their humans. And let me thank Dr. Bobby Christie at Town & Country in advance for getting it right. Your vax clinic is awesome Sir, and I suspect so are you. And when someone actually does something right and moral in this world, you should scream it from the rooftops. Can't wait to take my dogs to an actual professional. I have used this vet for years. I am so disappointed in the treatment my Charlie dog had received that I am sharing. First apparently neither dr Leonard or dr fremean like to work weekends which is when most of us working people have to take our due babies to the vet. They use a lot of substitute vets. Neither get the same quality of services. One time having your pups nails clipped is part of their yearly visit but when I took my other dog it wasn't. This last substiutute vet was arrogant and in terrible hurry. He half ass treated Charlie for a skin problem. Only told me half of what I should do. Called the office a week or so later to find out from the clerk there the rest of the treatment. When I expressed my concern of not being treated correctly she i formed me to bring him back in was going to cost me more money. ( i paid $288 the first time). So we go they the summer and between bathes and his mousse I keep situation under control. Not cured but under control. Well here come winter. Bathesbecome diffult because Charlie won't take an inside bath. so to make a long story short they gave me an allergy med all the time i was trying to get the vet to worked with me to figure out and eliminate what the allergy to cure it. Nope she still not listening even though I told her that I almost didn't come back to the treatment I received a couple of months earlier. Do Not give your dogs appequell It gives your dogs seizures. I took my 6 week old basset hound here for first set of shots and deworming, The Vet clinic was extremely busy on this particular Saturday and i felt very rushed in and rushed out, even though I prescheduled this appointment, not even 9 days later I had to take her to an emergency vet where I was told the amount of worms she had was unbelievable, my puppy was dehydrated and needed a blood transfusion immediately, fluids, and blood work done, she also has had to stay for multiple days at the vet hospital, I'm most confused as to 1. Why the vet at TLC didn't recommend deworming my puppy sooner than the scheduled 3 week follow up booster appointment, knowing this was her first appointment, with their licensed vet. 2. How did they not see/catch this amount of worms. 3. They said they don't prescribe deformer to take home, why wasn't I recommended to buy dewormer myself from the local tractor supply or feed store? 4. How in 9 days did my puppy go from being dewormed and then on her death bed? The assistant that answered the phone when I spoke with TLC said this could've happened due to her not being wormed at 3 weeks of age.. why wouldn't the vet have warned me about this? they knew it was her first appointment, OR more importantly recommended another dewormer before bringing her back in 3 weeks. If I would have waited that long my Basset Hound would have died. I have now had to fork out a $400 deposit just to try to save my puppy. Me and my kids are distraught, and the finances to keep her alive are overwhelming, and quickly rising. I would not recommend this Veterinary hospital. read more

I'm giving them 1 star would give them 0 if that was an option. My MIL has been taking her animals there ever since they first opened, has never really had any problems.But since they became a corporation, people have been nothing but rude! We called several times yesterday to see about getting her dog put down because we could tell her was suffering alot. He wasn't eating and could barely breathe. We knew he wasn't going to last long and we didn't want to see him suffer anymore. All they gave her was the run around about prices and all and we're very rude to her. They wanted to examine the dog to see if they could save him but we knew he was dying. She just wanted him out of pain. They would not help her at all, they just wanted to get more money out of her and she lives on a very limited income. The poor animal ended up dying a couple of hours later. We will no longer be going to TLC ever again! They could of helped us and not let her dog suffer as long as he did but all they care about is money! Shame on you TLC!!!! read more

I use to use this veterinarian but I don't anymore because they removed a tick from my dog and when I ask to test my dog for diseases they said no it's ok you use medicine every month. My dog kept getting sick and they said it was stomach problems and gave me medicine then I could not leave so anxiety medicine. Then a limp started so gave me joint medicine and this went on for a year. So I went to MedVet. To end this on a sad note my dog died of Rocky Mountain Fever. read more

Great staff but my dog was really sick. I kept pouring money into getting him well and there was no contact with any Doctor. The assistant could only answer so many questions. The Doctors were not helpful nor understanding. I went to someone, but to late, my dog passed away. read more

Second only to rehmjob as the absolute worse vet in Mobile county. I took my 1 year old cat to get neutered and my 3 year old dog for vaccine. A week later, my cat pulled all his hair out and was covered in fleas and some type of dermatitis. My dog contracted a skin condition that still has not dissipated after a year. They stink. Don't go to this hole unless you want to combat the same issues. read more

Great veterinarians! Been going here for many many years. Everyone's always very nice and they have helped all other animals so much.

They're fast, friendly, and convenient. You can get your pooches paws trimmed here without having to hold them yourself, or paying outrageous prices at the groomers. If it's an emergency they accept walk ins and they work you in right away. I recently took my moms new pup here suffering with Parvovirus. They gave me detailed instructions on how to kill the virus at home, how long it can live on surfaces, and told me exactly what they were going to do for the pup and how much it would cost, and given her symptoms' severity, about how long it would take for her to get better. We've always used this place, and when my dad got remarried she switched her pets to our vet and now recommends them every chance she gets. read more

I was initially very excited to use this vet because prices seemed reasonable. The facility does seem nice. However, I soon found out quality of service goes way down when prices are cheap. I've visited this vet numerous times over the past year, hoping each time that maybe I came on a bad day. But my experiences got worse and worse. Having worked as a vet tech during summers in college, I was able to gain enough experience to know how clients should and shouldn't be treated. On the first visit with a cat who needed shots, the vet walks in, doesn't introduce herself, give my cat his vaccines and says okay, have a nice day. No questions asking how my cat was or if I had any concerns. Brought my dogs in to have their hips x-rayed for OFA. With the first dog I was called a B@#ch when I asked if they could redo because the positioning was poor. With the second dog, they also messed up the positioning and then refused to redo the x-ray. Brought another dog in for an "old dog check up", was told my dog had early kidney failure by one of the vet techs and was sent on my way. I asked if I could speak to the vet, and she comes in annoyed, like how dare I want to know more about what is going on with my beloved pet. She gives me some incorrect info about elevated BUN levels, which made me lose faith in her diagnosis of my pet. Again this vet didnt ask my any question about how my pet was doing or if I had any concerns about her. Nor did she ask about reasons my dogs BUN could have been elevated. Use this place only if you know for sure your animal is healthy and all you need is vaccines. I will never use this clinic again, and would advise most not to as well! read more
