Chula Vista finally has S tier pizza. I'd say this is in the class with every great pizza place in SD. Excellent crust. Light and airy with both large small bubbles. Very tasty. Great char. I love that they have Detroit style as well. It's fluffy with crunchy bits at the exterior where the cheese has fried against the pan. Highly recommend trying it. The menu is pretty extensive with plenty by the slice and plenty whole pie options. Looking forward to trying the grandma pie next visit. If you like Bronx, Luigi's, the friendly, urbn, etc you will love this place. read more

TNT Pizza makes the best NY-style pizza in San Diego if not in SoCal, and I'm so excited they now have this second location. While I really enjoy the convenience of having the downtown TNT location close by, parking is such a hassle, there can be aggressive unhoused folks roaming around outside, and the area can feel a little rough depending on the time of day. Not so at this location. It's bright, beautiful, and welcoming, and there's plenty of (metered) street parking right outside. On to the pizza. They offer the same delightful options at this location, and they have the same pizza-by-the-slice set up, with vegan, vegetarian, and meat slices available. We were hungry and decided to get a whole pie to go. The vegan House Classic NY pizza was just as good as ever, with sausage, peppers, onions, and pepperoncini. Their house vegan cheese blend is excellent, and oftentimes many people eating the pizza have no idea it's vegan. And it's only $2 extra to veganize the whole pie which is a steal when compared to all the other pizza joints around that charge an extra $5 just to sub in vegan cheese (jerks!!). The space itself is beautiful, with big garage-style doors that allow in tons of sunlight and fresh air, and there's plenty of seating. And in true TNT form, they still have the old school decor - mirrored beer ads on the wall, Pizza Hut-esque glass lampshades, and the old school squishy booths to hang out in as you enjoy your food. When we visited a few weeks ago, they were still waiting on their beer and wine license so hopefully they have that soon. The hubby and I tried this place for a quick lunch. We were very excited because of all the recent hype.... Well, now we can say we tried it. It was ok. Nothing too great...... Decorations were nice. We enjoyed the old school pizza parlor vibes. On a positive note, you can chose from different pizza styles. NY, Detroit, Tavern, or Grandma style. We wished they had more common topping options in their pizza display case available..... We weren't interested in ordering a full pizza. We wanted to try a few different options. The random fly in the case was a little gross. However, the hubby convinced me that the oven should kill any potential cooties..... What we ordered: * 1 Detroit Pepperoni Slice * 1 NY Meat Slice * 1 Grandma Pickle Slice The cashier that took our order was friendly. Our pizza slices were brought to us in a timely manner. The pizza slices we shared were average..... The pickle pizza was different but not my cup of tea. Over all this is a quick spot to grab a slice of pizza. We decided to stop by for some pizza after hearing TNT had opened a location much closer to us. We'd never tried it before, but we've always heard great things about the original location, so we were excited to give it a try. The menu had a good variety of options, including specialty pizzas or the ability to build your own. They also offer several styles, including Detroit, New York, and Grandma style. We ordered the Large Marge in Detroit style. We expected the wait to be a little longer since Detroit-style pizza takes more time to make, plus it was a newly opened restaurant with staff still getting into the flow. The wait was noticeable but actually shorter than I had anticipated. When our pizza arrived, the first thing I noticed was that we were given a New York Style Pizza not the Detroit Style we ordered . We didn't want to say anything because we were hungry and didn't want to wait even longer. It also wasn't very hot, almost as if it had been sitting for a few minutes before being served. As for the pizza itself, it was just okay. It was extremely oily, very floppy, and the toppings kept sliding off each slice, which made it difficult to eat. I'm hoping this was simply the result of a soft opening and the normal growing pains that come with a new location. I'd definitely be willing to give them another chance down the road. However, if this is the standard experience, I'm not sure it's worth the price, especially with so many excellent pizza options in San Diego. At this point, I don't know if we'd return. read more

This is a very nostalgic old school pizza joint for anyone unfamiliar with TNT. This is a very anticipated location we have waited what feels like years for; The pizza is true to its heritage while I really wish the pies in the case were labeled more then vegan, vegetarian or meat Idk what I ordered it looked good in the case it was delicious though I'm assuming something with hot honey? Either way it was devoured I wish there was another slice in the case Slices are about $4-5 each depending on speciality Detroit etc but they are generously portioned and served at a great temp to enjoy right away without burning the roof of your mouth I am hopeful the beer taps will be available soon I'd love to enjoy a slice and a beer at the bar one day but for now they had water and canned sodas There are plenty of booths and space along the bar Well def be back can't wait to see this spot make its mark on 3rd Avenue read more

Well wanted to give this place a try. The decor and vibe was amazing. I honestly would have been more excited and given a positive review. Having the open restaurant concept with no windows or doors. Allowing a bit of a fly issue. Seeing a fly inside the food case was the downside. I also think there should be a better options of the types of of pizza displayed as many were the same and didn't have much variation except the style. Shortly after ordering they put a more desired choice. So again they could have communicated and said in about 20 min there is going to be a different pizza. Also the pizza crust was basic ,nothing super exciting .So maybe a one off . Will give it a try again when craving pizza and just try maybe in the evening. read more

Love pizza joints that sell "slices". And its not just 2-4 different kinds its more like 8-10 choices!! They also sell 3 different styles (NY, Detroit, grandma). Service is friendly but if there's a line it might take awhile to place your order, But once u do maybe 5-8min for them to heat it up. read more

3rd time going there and I know not my last. Their ranch has to be the best I've tried, it's a must now with my pizza. The pizza and thin and crispy but not hard. The sauce to cheese ratio is perfect. Their pepperoni jalapeño pizza is great but my favorite has to be a meat pizza was a red sauce drizzled over it. I'm sorry I don't know the name. It's the two slices to the left in the picture. I've only ever seen a singular worker so a line does form but the wait has been no more than 6 minutes at most. Plenty of seating area, large TV(watch the Spain Vs Argentina game there). They seem to have a mini arcade in the back. I personally haven't checked it out yet. read more

I ordered the whole Large Marge vegan pizza. Man let me tell you what. She uncles me after 4 slices asa big as my head! Once you've had Marge, you be sitting Margarita out by the curb. Service is stand up and order, hear your name yelled, get it and start eating. There are few fine eating establishments that have The Misfits on rotation on the Musak. really wanted to give this place a much higher rating because the pizza itself is delicious. Unfortunately, the experience with the ordering process was disappointing. When we placed our order over the phone, we were told it would be ready in about 20 minutes. Since it took us roughly 20 minutes to drive there, we arrived expecting our order to be ready. When we got there, the pizza was not ready, and we were told it would only be a few more minutes. However, we ended up waiting nearly an hour total. The wait was frustrating, especially because we could have planned accordingly if we had been given a more accurate pickup time. The food is great, but I hope the team can improve communication and provide more realistic wait times so customers have a better overall experience. read more

Just strolling by on Third Ave in Chula Vista, and another great surprise TNT Pizza (not even fully opened yet!) First, we are a mostly Italian family from New York. I am an Italian nana and a Margarita Pizza snob (we gauge all pizza on how well you can do a Margarita because it should be simple!! ) TNT's was EXCELLENT!! I could not be more excited for TNT to finally arrive in Chula Vista. As expected the food is absolutely delicious. A variety of unique flavors sitting alongside some staples. Their pickle pizza is my absolute favorite, I could eat it every day. For our vegan and GF friends, their options are so good that sometimes I sneak a slice as well. The location brings back memories of old school pizza joints from my childhood. The place is always clean and the vibes are immaculate. Yesterday,, we ordered a whole Chicago Detroit pizza to go and all I have to say is it is our new favorite pizza joint in CV! Calianno's has been our go to for years and we still love it as it's a little closer to our house, but after finding TNT, we might be converted. I'd say I'm a bit of a foodie and have dined at some of the best restaurants in the world. I'm also pretty picky on my pizza and know what makes a good pie. I have experienced both Chicago style pizza in Chicago and New York style pizza in New York many times and I can say this pizza is absolutely amazing! How can you go wrong with a Crispy, thoughtfully crafted focaccia sour dough crust, delicious garlicy sauce and the perfect amount of toppings? You really can't. The hot honey and homemade dill ranch were also a nice touch. You can really tell they put a lot of care and thought into the ingredients and crafting their food. The guy who helped me was super friendly and he hooked up the parmasean and peppers! Heck ya! The decor has a super cool 70s 80s pizza parlour vibe that reminds me of pizza joints when I was a kid. AND it's huge inside. What are they going to do with all that space? I have a teenager who's into music and I think it would be so cool to hold all ages shows there! I can totally see the family getting together to grab some pizza and watch some cool bands play! Not sure if they can even do that, but sounds fun anyway! We will absolutely be back! TNT is legit the best pizza we've had in a long, long time! What a treat. I'd give it 100 stars if I could!
