Have had this place saved for a while to try out because I love smaller local diner type establishments and when you walk into TNT's that's exactly what you get. There was a waiter who greeted me right away and said I could sit anywhere - it was 8 am so not crowded while I waited for my friend to arrive. The inside of the restaurant is definitely small but they've created/built an outside portion with heaters (I'm assuming AC too when summer starts) so there's a lot more space than online may show. This is the type of place where the staff knows a lot of their regulars and just smiles/laughs with them. Gives me a lot of good vibes. We found a little gem this morning! We tried TNTs Snack Shop. Upon entering we noticed the cute, old time diner feel. The friendly waitress offered any table for us and we sat ourselves. She quickly brought us water and menus. She was very personable! Their menu has tons of options and very low prices! My better half got an omelette and hash browns and loved them. The hash brown were crisp on the outside and perfect on the inside. I got the French toast (that was deliciously covered in cinnamon!), grits, and sausage. The breakfast was very tasty and the sausage patties were so thick and tasty!!! A little greasy but not bad. Overall, the experience, customer service, and food were excellent. I'd give them 5 stars, but the fact they only take cash is a big inconvenience along with using their atm that you get hit for $3.00 there as well. So they get 4 stars. Check out TNT! read more

If you ever wonder what happened to the good old days, then you need to come to TNT's. It's one of those hidden gems that time forgot. Filled with regulars enjoying the huge meals and small prices, they make breakfast and lunch just like you would for yourself at home, only better. We sat next to a guy, a long time regular, who used to be a chef. He said their vegetable soup is the best you'll find anywhere. And better than he can make. For a bowl, it's about $2.75. They also have cheeseburgers for under $3. I had an omelet with ham on the bone. The ham was delicious and as thick as a skirt steak. The omelet was more than I needed, but I finished it anyway. The wait is not long because the cooks keep churning out the meals, the servers (including the couple who own it) never rest, and the patrons keep flowing in and out. Plus there is an outside seating area that is protected from the elements by a canvas tent. So I guess it's technically inside. But that's a comfortable place for the overflow crowd they get every day. We like sitting at the counter. The coffee keeps flowin' and the service is quick. Everyone is in a hurry in these kinds of dinners so you never have to look around to flag down your server. There is no back room they can disappear into and they are all within 20 feet of you. The restaurant is a simple 'L' shape. With the long part of the L having booths and counter seating, and the short part of the L having booths and the cash register. Oh, by the way, this place is cash only. Though they have an ATM on site if you forget. So if you like delicious breakfasts and lunches at low prices, and you enjoy the experience of a diner, check this place out! read more

TNT's Snack Shop is about as classic diner as you can get. It's a stand alone place right near Arlington Park Race Track (and my place) with all the love & appeal of a casual Midwestern diner. What makes TNT a notch above similar diners in the area? The patio! If it's a nice day out, you can chill and have some delicious breakfast and lunch eats outdoors. Well that and the eats. Service is a bit above your standard diner service, too. Nothing fancy but they are friendly and polite which isn't always the norm at diners. On to the food, it's really good. All of it. The standout for me is their corned beef hash though. I don't want to get all crazy here but it may just be the best I've ever had. Their biscuits and gravy are also top notch. They have a huge menu full of very well priced items so I'll be dining here for quite some time before I knock out everything I want to taste. We ordered the Country Fried Steak and eggs with Biscuits and Gravy and also a side of ham for the two of us to split. Also ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate. The food was delivered freakishly fast. But when it came out it was delicious, so much so but I forgot to take a picture until we were mostly done with our breakfast. They do not except charge cards, but they do have an ATM machine inside. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable of all the items they serve. Can't wait to come back and try some more items here would highly recommend this place for fast quick very delicious food. TNT's Snack Shop gives off a diner vibe, with booths outlining the parameter inside, with diner-style stools and table arrangement facing an open kitchen. The chicken was rather moist and the corned beef hash was the highlight. You have to order the corned beef hash. The service was good, the people all seem like regulars from the nearby suburbs and overall, a really good diner experience. Pro-tip: Cash only!! But they do have an ATM inside... As a person who's not super keen on hygiene (hair washing in particular), I can't say that I love small space diners with open kitchens and thick food smells that waft out and cling to my weave. This is one of those places. Like, whoa. Like, bacon & egg scented 'do for days kind of whoa. As everyone else has said, this place is about as tiny, dive-y, and diner-y as it gets... at least for the northwest suburbs. They serve just the basics and not much more and have room for maybe 18 patrons if everyone sucked it in real hard. Coffee was basic. Drinks were served in styrofoam cups, which, call me new-fashioned, but I thought it was pretty sad. This place seems like it's been around forever and for as many cups as I'm sure they go through, they can probably justify getting ones that aren't disposable, or at least are slightly less anti-Earth. I went with a grilled cheese sandwich and a side of fries while my boo got an omelet with veggies and hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were great. Nice and greasy just how I like them (I hate when they're all hard and burnt), grilled cheese was fine, fries were just the basic from a bag frozen kind, which was all I really expected. Our bill was only like $15, but my grilled cheese was pretty un-substantial (I know that's not a word. just pretend, k?) and I def was still hungry when I left. I thought about ordering a second grilled cheese since it was only $4, but the food was already pretty heavy from all the grease and I knew that while I likely wouldn't leave hungry with a second sandwich, my stomach probably wouldn't feel very good about it. Service was fine. You can tell everyone who's worked there has been there forever as they're pretty casual and know most all the customers. I did think the spot was cute, and I'm glad I tried it. I do think TNT has a place in the community and I'm glad it's there and obviously doing well for itself.
