We've seen this food truck many times over the years and finally stopped in for a couple pulled pork sandwiches and sides to bring home for lunch. The folks here are friendly and service is pretty quick. Prices are fair. They have most everything a southern BBQ joint would have, except beef. Once home we cracked into lunch... it all looked and smelled pretty good. But everything except the smoked mac & cheese was way too salty. The smokey flavor of the pork and the beans were good, but the salt level in both was ridiculously high, same with the cole slaw. It's a shame because the flavors were decent if there wasn't so much salt. Sauces were just ok, nothing special there. Not sure what happened with the seasonings, but doubt I'll return. read more

I'm a fan of TNTz's ribs! Make sure you have your eyes peeled, as this BBQ stand is set up right off a small little service road before an intersection. There was even an Amazon guy who pulled over to the emergency lane to get himself a meal! The menu offers ribs, chicken, pulled pork, hot dogs, and turkey legs. Sides consist of baked beans, collard greens, coleslaw, and potato salad. The hubs and I decided to go for their 1/2 rack of ribs and a pulled pork sandwich, with the 4 sides to try them all. The pulled pork was just okay, and the 'Carolina' sauce that they had, I was just not a fan - it was a vinegary/mustardy/thicker sauce, but didn't really taste like the typical - I believe it was TNT's own rendition. I did like their sweet BBQ, as it was thick in consistency! The ribs, on the other hand, were so good! I could see why some noted that it was dry - it was definitely on the dry end, and not just the edges; I was just a fan of the spice rub that they used, as it made the ribs more flavorful than any other ribs I've had in a while! Just note that the ribs are also a little 'thinner' and 'flatter' than the usual ribs. We weren't a fan of the sides - the baked beans were too sweet and had an off taste to them; the greens were a bit potent, and we just weren't fans of the flavor. The coleslaw was creamy and was sweet, and the potato salad was vinegary and more on the sweeter end; the latter 2 were better than the others. There was definitely a line at this place, and it seemed like it's a favorite with the locals. People were eating by their cars and enjoying the nice air before hitting the road again. This BBQ joint is only open on weekends. I've seen the food truck and smokers stationed next to Route 17 multiple times while running weekend errands, but on a quarantine-life Sunday I finally caved on the way back from a grocery run. Prices are not cheap, but I decided to get a pound of pulled pork ($16) to go. Once I got home I made some pulled pork sandwiches using the sweet BBQ sauce they provided (the other option was Carolina style sauce). The meat was DELICIOUS! It was juicy and smoky. Absolutely perfect and worth the money. If you're looking to feed an army (aka family), I think the per-pound offerings are a better deal. Take the meat home and fix it into sandwiches or a platter. Stopped at the LidL and saw a that it was black owned and operated so we decided to try it. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and one of every side available. The only edible sidewalk were the smoked Mac N cheese & potatoes salad. The smoked baked beans, collard greens & pulled pork tasted like the salt box top broke while they were adding it. We could only take a tiny taste of each and had to throw it away it was so much salt. I really hope that this was a mistake, but that would mean only one dish would be extremely salty & not most of them. I think the prices are reasonable for this day and age where everything is high af. Again, I would love to see this business succeed so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CUT DOWN OM THE SALT AND TASTE THE FOOD BEFORE SERVING IT. read more

A lot of people recommend this BBQ so we finally tried. We ordered 2 half BBQ chicken (they were HUGE!) and potato salad & baked beans for the side. The amount of the side is big enough for 2 people. We also had 2 extra BBQ sauce but we didn't need to buy the extra because the sauce they give you free is enough. We thought the side wasn't that good (the potato salad was just okay, but the baked bean was too salty for us), but the BBQ chicken was VERY DELICIOUS!!!!! They know what they are doing. First time trying this place after driving by it daily.. I ordered a full rack of Ribs 28$ and a Turkey leg total came out to around 38 after taxes.. I have been smoking meat for over 25 year and for the price I was expecting more, the Turkey leg had good flavor but was dry. Same with ribs, flavor was nice but meat was extremely tough. When I bit down on ribs I don't expect to hear a crunching sound, which is exactly what I heard in multiple bites.. I like my ribs to be tender and pull away from the bone every so slightly, they don't have to be fall off the bone but shouldn't have same texture as a well done steak.. Based on reviews it's possible that maybe I had gotten a rack of ribs that were done well before I arrived and sat around for a while and dried out. When they say those roadside barbecue trailers are the best barbecue restaurants, they're talking about this place. Not only is their pulled pork sandwich the most delicious I've had in the nova area in a long time, it's reasonably priced as well! To top it all off the very first time I ate here, a young girl was selling lemonade for .50 a cup, and it was the best 3 cups of lemonade I'd ever had. Best BBQ in VA, no doubt about it! TNT'z Smoked BBQ is a food truck on rt 17. They have the smoker right next to the truck and the smell is incredible. Trust me when I say, you have to try it out. This is more of a pick up your food and eat in your car/home type of place. They don't have tables for you to eat at but who cares, I sure don't. The ribs are THAT good that I don't mind taking it to go. I've been to other BBQ food trucks before and I'm telling you, nothing compares to the ribs they have here. The ribs have a lot of meat on them and are always cooked perfectly. They have other options like chicken and pulled pork but I always stick with the full rack of ribs. WOW!! My husband and I were on the way back from vacation, we had just stopped for food when we passed this place. The smell at the stop light made us turn right around. I am so glad we did!!! I have mixed opinions about this place. On the plus side, the BBQ sandwiches that two friends and I got had very generous helpings of meat. The people in the truck were friendly and efficient. That part was great. The problems were mainly with the BBQ itself. It was the saltiest stuff that I've ever had--barely able to eat it--and my friends felt the same. It was also a very "wet" BBQ--not moist, but wet, as in soggy. The lower bun was soon mush. I'm not sure how they prepared the pork, but I have a very strong hunch that it is pre-cooked by simmering in brine to speed up the process, then put on a smoker to finish by giving it some smoked flavor ... but I could be wrong. That's just what it seemed like. It didn't taste like true pit-cooked pig, and I've eaten BBQ at many of the better known places east of the Mississippi. Also, the "Carolina BBQ sauce" that was given to us was nothing at all like either an eastern NC or western NC sauce. It was more of a Vidalia-honey sauce. It was good for what it was (suspect it was commercial), but not what we were expecting. I may have just picked a bad day when someone over-salted the meat, but I have no reason to go back there again. read more

I am from South Carolina and I grew up with good BBQ. This truck happens to park right outside of my neighborhood and anytime you walk outside you smell it. I was referred to them by a Facebook friend. I ordered a breast medium w/a cup of pickles and ranch. The crust was extra crispy and thick plus extremely too salty. I asked for medium heat because I love really hot chicken but it tasted like a mild or plain. I couldn't taste the heat at all. What I did like was I called 10minutes before they closed and my order was still taken and I was able to pick it up. I do appreciate that gesture because I'm pregnant and crave hot foods and had my mind set on hot chicken. If I do go back I just will have to order hot and recommend light seasoning or just simply try something else. read more

Love the food, hate the "argument" over sauces. Give me the darn sauce! The sauces are so delicious and the food is always $50.00 or more for 2 people, ease up on the sauce stingyness. We were in Fredericksburg for a football game. We passed this food truck going to the game. It smelled so good we had to stop on are way out. We stopped and got pulled pork bbq sandwiches and a rib sandwich. It was all delicious. Now I wish I would have got a full slab of ribs for Sunday dinner. Too bad I'm 3 hours away.
