Tried to come here a few time but the lines have always been out the door. I got lucky today was able to get in and sat in about 15 minutes. The food staff was nice and friendly and or waitress Catherine J was very attentive and kept checking on our table. First time here with local friends for breakfast. Interesting place with an old fashioned diner vibe. The four of us ordered the same thing. The strawberry waffle and the Original Egg Michael. The latter is a really good variation on eggs Benedict except that the sauce is a sherry mushroom gravy that goes really well with the poached eggs and the potato pancakes. Service was attentive (she kept the coffee coming) and the side of bacon one of us got was very good as well. Prices are competitive, plenty of parking up front. We hadn't been here in YEARS and were excited to return. Mark and I are not small folk. I'm here to tell you there was no way we were fitting into one of the booths. Thankfully there were plenty of tables available. Crisis averted! Our server was super nice and helpful. I thought for certain I'd get something sweet. I mean, it's a pancake house, right? Instead, I ended up with The Original Eggs Michael, which is an English Muffin, sausage patties and poached eggs topped with a sherry mushroom sauce. It was served with four thin potato pancakes. Everything was delicious! I loved the mushroom sauce on the eggs and the potato pancakes, although thin, were perfect. It was a deliciously light meal. If you're expecting the same experience as the Anderson Original Pancake House think again. The omelets are overdone and incorrectly garnished. I'm not talking parsley here I'm talking marinara instead of salsa with no one who cares enough to fix it. You are unlikely to get all your food unless you remind the server after they think they've delivered it all. You will not get a refill on a drink and we finished our pancakes without the luxury of syrup. The sticky container on our table was pretty low when we got here. It's hot in here and bizarrely loud for a breakfast restaurant. The booth seat was torn open and simply worn out. My food as well as my wife's food was not correct, and my daughter's had hair in it. The girl at check-out (the face of the business) was miserable and appeared to hate her job. I discovered this chain a few years ago and was delighted because I can't get gluten-free pancakes just anywhere. And theirs are very good. I stopped again on my way down to Mardi Gras this year and had a great breakfast. I really like this location, even though it is a pretty long drive from my house...very worth the wait. The inside decor has a homey feel to it, and the ceiling over my booth was painted with a tree and sky (picture attached). I only eat pancakes when I go on vacation, and this was the perfect Mardi Gras kickoff breakfast. My server was Kelly W. Very sweet lady who delivered perfect service. She took the time to talk to me a bit It's such a treat to have pecan pancakes if you can't eat gluten, and these were fluffy and delicious and covered in powdered sugar. Just a suggestion - if they bring out the tropical syrup try it first to see if you like it. At another location, I poured it all over my pancakes not knowing it was maple and ruined my food. They automatically bring it here too, but she switched it out for regular maple. I had eggs scrambled on the side, fluffy and delish. The bacon was very good too. Really great food for less than twenty bucks. Convenient location too with ample parking. If you're GF and craving pancakes, you won't be sorry you stopped. Yes just yes! This restaurant was so good! We had to wait in line for awhile but it was worth it. Almost every menu item comes with pancakes and you can upgrade depending on what kind you want. My brother and I got the banana pancakes and the upcharge was only $1.50. Definitely worth it. It also comes with a tropical topping that you can add but I didnt particularly like it. For my main meal, I got the corned beef hash. The hash is a hearty and tasty, our freshly prepared corned beef is served with two eggs. It was so good! While the location is great and very convenient with plenty of parking, be ready to hear that they do not have some options like egg whites or some other things that are still on the menu. We love cherry crepes, they are delicious, mandarin crepes are good as well. Omelettes are very big in size cooked with 4 eggs in the oven. We're seated and asked the server no less than 7 times to place our order. Server kept ignoring us and walking away. (acknowledging everyone else around us) Had to remind her to bring our drinks several times. Food was great as usual. Unfortunately, we don't visit this location nearly as often as we might. Generally get the older server with short red hair. She is always rude, slow, and doesn't listen to her customers. We've got friends that avoid this location as well, because of the risk of getting her as a server. Too bad that one server can so negatively affect a restaurant with such good food. read more

I've been here years ago in south bend but was excited to come back- I remember them having huge portions and that is definitely still true! All the omelettes come with 3 pancakes- whaaaat?!?! Best combo ever. They even had gluten free pancakes and they were delicious!!! Some places offer GF pancakes that taste GF- these were the best Ive had out to brunch. The omelette (as expected) was huge and delicious. The menu says the omelettes take 18-20 minutes but I don't think we waited that long. I went to the pancake House today on 10 five 2024 at 7:54 to pick up my order first off. The pricing online is totally different than the pricing in the store. I was told by the young lady at the cash register named Lexi told me the Pricing was not updated and she told me that I had to pay the pricing that was in the store and not online. then I get home and the order is totally incorrect. I got blitz crêpes with no strawberries. I was charged for two extra syrups when syrups come with the order I looked at what I got my husband now order was incorrect so I called and I was told that Amy, who is the manager was too busy to talk to me, but you took my money gave me an incorrect order but too busy to talk to a customer that truly has a complaint so tell me what world this happens. The Original Pancake House is a go-to breakfast spot with so many options and great food! We came in on a Sunday morning around 11:00 and only had to wait about fifteen minutes to be seated, but there were definitely people after us waiting longer. They do not take reservations and didn't allow us to join the waiting list over the phone, so be prepared to wait at least a little. They are a bit understaffed so it feels a little hectic, but the food is worth the wait. We got two Dutch babies, a 2 by 4, and the strawberry waffle. The food came out fairly quickly and was all very tasty. They give you very generous portions and it is not overly expensive. The service is not the best I have ever seen, but they were all working hard despite being understaffed. As a pancake lover, these pancakes are some of my favorites and they have tons of options. The Original Pancake House in Montgomery is very close to my house and I have been here dozens of times over the years. Today we chose TOPH as our Day 5 selection of our 24 day Advent dining calendar for greater Cincinnati. What my family and I really like about The OPH is the wide range of breakfast options they have, including blintzes and other specialty items not found anywhere else. The Dutch Baby is this wonderful oven baked German delicacy that is to die for. They have all manner of egg-based dishes (4 egg omelettes, eggs Benedict, etc) as well and do offer gluten free pancake options. Their coffee is always fantastic. The OPH in Montgomery is very popular so there is a good chance you will have to queue in a line for your table unless you pick wisely your dining time. Today we were seated immediately, but it was at 10:45 on a Monday. The food is unique enough and good enough that it is worth the wait. read more
