I am sorry to say I can tell they are cutting corners. Went for breakfast this morning and I was not wowed. The coffee was very weak flavored. I had the poached eggs on biscuits and gravy. The amount of gravy was sparce and poached eggs were well done. I had to order and pay for extra gravy so the meal wasn't so dry. Hubby asked for jelly and grape is all that is offered. Food here is good, but not worth the hassle. They really need to get their act together. Used the virtual line which showed an hour wait. Showed up at the time the app told us to, waited on a 20 minute line to check in, and was told by the hostess it would be about another 20 minutes. After waiting another hour, we were told there was still 3 parties in front of us. Saw a number of very unhappy people yelling at the manager and my group decided to just leave - after investing over 2 and 1/2 hours and dealing with the nightmare of parking in Patchogue village. This has happened 3 other times we have been there. The manager runs around apologizing, but what they really need is a class on estimating wait times. Way too stressful for brunch. read more

There is no doubt Toast is a great place to eat but they seem to miss the mark frequently when it comes to pick up orders and wait times. The App didn't solve the problems. I regularly visit and though I enjoy the food I honestly feel that management and the staff/servers need more in depth training so they can be equipped to deal with a very busy establishment. I'm still giving toast 4 stars because it is a great place to go but if they can't tighten it up I, like others will eventually move on to one of the other very good places in the immediate area. read more

I've read and heard such great things about this place so I had to try it. I have a big group of friends at school so I figured it'd be hard to go there since it's always busy and they don't take reservations. I decided to go to Port Jefferson on a Saturday morning for my birthday and I wanted brunch. We stopped by Toast to see if there was a long wait. We actually got lucky and were seated right away. The brunch menu is great. There were too many things I wanted to try and genuinely had difficulty choosing. I decided to get the splendid benedict which came with home fries and half were sweet potato! what a huge plus! My friend got the eggs benedict brunch burger and absolutely loved it. Overall great experience.. the food was great, service was good. My only complaint was that there is a tight space in the front where the host is and where you wait. The door is constantly opening and closing which obviously you can't help, but all the tables in the front are freezing because the breeze keeps coming in. I'd love to give this restaurant a review if they would have even sat us, we had a reservation for 15 people for 12:00 in which we arrived at 11:55 where they then told us they had tried to call us multiple times to make sure we were still coming (they did not, no missed calls on anyone's phones) and they informed us that they had given away our table when it had not even struck 12:00 yet. We decided to sit and wait and watched as people walked in and were sat within 10 minutes of waiting. We then asked how much longer to wait and they told us they have no idea and couldn't give us a time. Upon leaving we found out this also has happened before to other people. I finally got the chance to visit Toast this weekend! I was so excited, since I've been wanting to come here for the longest time. There's always like an hour wait at this location, so I suggest using the Nowait app! It took us about 35 minutes to be seated. Which wasn't too bad. When we sat down, our waiter came over within a few minutes to take our drink orders. I had to try the peanut butter mocha coffee, which was so delicious! I also ordered a mimosa, because... brunch! For my meal I had what seems to be one of their most popular items, the avocado BLT omelette. Soooooo good! Their potatoes are also insanely delicious. I also loved that their rye bread was cut into thick slices. I've never seen that before at a restaurant, and it was so much better than the measly toast slices served at most other establishments. My friend and I also shared the cinnamon bun pancakes. I'm drooling right now just thinking about them!! All in all, Toast definitely lived up to the hype. This was my second time at toast and it was even better than the first! I checked in online while there was a 40 min wait and when we got there we were sat in less than 15 minutes. I got the whole grain waffle it was fluffy and flavorful! It didn't taste to gritty or grainy which what I was worried about. Our server was attentive and very nice! We will be returning! read more

This is by far my fav brunch location... and I Love brunch!! The service is always incredible, I've visited the Patchogue location... probably 30 times??!! And not once have I ever had bad service, or bad food. Coffees always refilled, the food arrives hot, the selections are incredible... there's something for everyone! Food was out of this world excellent. I had cinnamon French toast and it did not disappoint. The drinks are fairly priced ($7 for a decent sized mimosa was not unreasonable to me) and the service was fast. I absolutely love this place. Not only is the food and coffee are phenomenal all of the staff, no matter what position they hold, are passionate about the work they do. That contributes to a great atmosphere where it's a "feel good" place. We will definitely be back. Additionally, there was a bit of wait but the manner in which the wait time is done it allows you to walk around port Jefferson and not be glued to one area waiting to be called which is quite considerate and you don't even notice you are waiting. This review is actually based on our 2nd visit here, the first time around we were very happy with our meals and service, in fact so much we kept talking about coming back. So we finally got back here this past weekend and it just wasn't the same. First the waitress gave us spoons when we first sat but no forks or knives so we had to wait a good ten minutes before being able to flag someone down for silver wear as our food sat on the table and got cold. 2nd my dish was supposed to have fried avocado on it but they forgot and the plate they ended up bringing me was bland and the avocado wasn't very ripe it was hard! 3rd The up charge for the side of fruit salad seemed a bit high for the size you get. When we checked there was a 50-70 minute wait! We waited at home and arrived when there was still about 10 groups ahead of us so we walked around town and checked in when it was time. After a 40 minute wait and 10 parties later was told there was still 3 parties ahead. What's the point on putting your name on a "list" if your have to still wait for 2 hours.
