I've been coming here now for a while and I've enjoyed my experience every time. The shop staff is cordial and knowledgeable and can make good recommendations. Lots of other shops in the area just seem to have a cashier to handle transactions but otherwise isn't very knowledgeable. The shop has good selection of my favorites, Davidoff, Montecristos, and Cohibas among others. They're on the more expensive side but given the location and selection that's a given, but they still have good affordable options as well. I like that motorcycle parking is close but the lot on the other side of the building that has pickup/drop off parking that I utilize as well. I've never had an issue with poor cigar quality either. Just bought six Davidoffs (not cheap). Tried to smoke two, and each one hard as a rock and zero draw. The remaining four that I did not open were also cement rolls. I went back and asked to exchange the un-opened four remaining for identical cigars. Even offered to take Avo's at half the price. Response, a hard "no". I also then noticed that the case that the Davidoffs were displayed in, was not a humidor. I know that there is no exchange policy, but a little customer consideration under the facts would have been appropriate in my humble opinion. read more

The statement made by Chris M is completely and utterly false; this individual himself had prejudices against individuals that were present at the Tobacco Patch. The owner of the cigar store has even evicted him from the premises! The Tobacco Patch is better now than ever before, it is one of the last late night hang outs for cigar aficionados. It provides relaxing, enticing environments for both sexes in a great downtown Kirkland setting. They are also the only appointed merchant for Davidoff in Washington, a premium brand cigar that is great smoke for a summer evening. The is the best cigar store in all of the metropolitan-Seattle area. I was BLOWN AWAY! I tend to stay away from local shops because I am a collector and often am looking for things that are just not in stock, but I kept finding gem after gem! Yes, I spent some money, but cigar smoking is a luxury after all. I am looking for selection over pricing, and their selection is so well-thought-out that I never had a chance to care if i was over-paying by a few dollars. Also, they have a smoking area outside the shop on the weekends. This ALONE makes this a unique destination location in the area with its unfriendly and uncompromising smoking laws. The first time I went into this store, the owner followed me and hovered over my shoulder while I was browsing through the humidor. I figured that he was just trying to be helpful in case I needed anything. I asked for his recommendation on a cigar and he replied that he didn't smoke. Why are you following me around the store if you are of no use in selecting some cigars? The cigars are expensive but not outlandish, with a decent selection of high quality brands. The shop would be a neat little place if not for the unpleasant owner. read more

When I began coming to Tobacco Patch years ago, I didn't like the place. The owner was gruff and unfriendly. I felt like I was being rushed through a purchase. Now, years later, having seen a greater world of tobacco stores out there, most of them super-nasty, I've settled into a greater appreciation of Tobacco Patch. It does have a fairly large, though crammed, humidor. It does have a large glass case of cigars. The pipe tobacco selection is a bit dicey, though; I wonder how often it gets cycled through. The owner is still equally gruff, but I'm older and wiser and can handle it better. And some days, he's more talkative. I do wish it was more of a destination, a place to hang out a bit and peruse the selections, the ideal being something like Old Morris Tobacconists in Victoria, BC. Alas, it's not. But at least I have a close store to purchase my products, rather than going into Seattle. read more

Good selection, friendly service, but relatively high prices.

When it comes to Yelp, I usually dedicate my energy too beer & alcohol.. however I love my cigars & pipe tobacco.. the 'Tobacco Patch' in Kirkland has a variety (roughly 20+) long-grain, pure & jarred, pipe tobacco blends to choose from (very rare in WA state, unfortunately).. all at great prices. The blends are fresh, moist, and very, very good. Staff is knowledgeable enough, and if you're looking for a cigar that has been well preserved (humidified).. this place is great. Overall, because of the pipe tobacco quality & selection, and the cigar appreciation.. I would recommend this establishment to any pipe, or cigar smoker around the area. read more

Please be aware of this location. I purchased a Peterson tobacco pipe from this location yesterday. The pipe stems are cheaply made and immediately oxidized upon me putting it in my mouth. Great selection tobacco but that is all I would get from here. Do not under any circumstances purchase a pipe. The person who was manning the store was on his phone and had little to no knowledge of pipes. Good luck. read more

The Shop is small but has a great walk in humidor that is packed full of great cigars. They don't carry just regular mainstream junk you see in every shop, they carry a great selection of boutique cigars at reasonable prices. Would be a 5 star review but the owners push Davidoff's a little to hard for my taste. They are good mild cigars, but when i'm walking out of the Humidor with a hand full of Medium to Full bodied cigars, the chances that i would want a Davidoff which is very mild are really low. Yet every time i go there they try to sell me one. Overall the Tobacco Patch is the best Cigar Shop on the East side. read more

I've been here three times. Every time I am the one who says, 'hi.' I'm the one who says 'thank you.' The guy in there never seems to smile or appreciate my business. I get much better treatment in Manhattan. First time I was there I bought a Fuente Opus X. About $25 bucks. It was so 'wet' that I had to re-light it 14 times. I mentioned this to the guy and he couldn't even bother with a 'sorry about that.' Fine, I will go back to on-line purchases. There is a much better place in Seattle called 'The Cigar Society.' read more

My fiancee & I stopped by yesterday for the first time. I'm new to the area and was hoping to find a nice, local cigar store. We walked in, I smiled and greeted the man behind the counter with a 'Hello', he didn't reply, just glared at us angrily. There was absolutely no reason for his response, and after shopping for a few minutes, and being angrily watched, we left. As we were walking down the block, my fiancee said "Did you get the feeling that we were extremely unwelcome... almost like he hated Caucasian Americans?" Well, she had nailed it, because that's exactly what I was feeling and thinking and I told her so. What a disappointment, the cigar selection was fairly good, but frankly, I'll buy elsewhere, even though it means a substantial drive. Huge disappointment. read more
