I come into Tobys Pawn Shop all the time whether its just to browse or im looking for something in particular. Everytime I walk through the door and there is an employee behind the counter they always welcome me in and acknowledge my presence as a costumer whether they are already previously busy with someone or not. This last visit i made here was to pawn some of my tools. I dont do this very often so was kinda new to the whole process. The employee taking care of my transaction was very friendly, and patient as far as walking me through the process as to how they come up with the amount of money they are able and willing to offer you. Also knowledgeable as far as my items i brought in. The whole transaction was quite quick and painless and I had my cash loan before I knew it. Tobey is a very professional person, his shop is very friendly and has many great items. I stop in from time to time when I am in downtown charlottesville and he always has new items. He's very straight forward and honest, and makes sure he gives you the straight scoop on anything you ask. I even overheard him telling a person wanting to pawn an item that he might be better off selling it himself on craigslist as he wouldn't be able to offer him as much as the guy deserved for the item. I am a first time gun purchaser so I went into the shop knowing NOTHING....the staff were pleasant and polite. Rachael was the team member who assisted me with some handguns. This is the shop you want to go to in Charlottesville and by the UVA area! they have the best products and the greatest staff. I have dealt with both stores and have never been disappointed. Their prices are fantastic, specially for firearms! The amount of firearms in stock is incredible and if they don't have it they can order it. The transactions are easy and painless. I've got good care in both Tobey's stores. Each accepts FFL transfer forms, and I now I am visiting both stores as one is close to where I live, while another one is next to my work. The customer service is excellent: sales people are knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and patient: I am sorta new to American firearms, and I have a lot of questions, to which I get satisfying answers. I went for an interview here but sadly did not get the job which is a bummer but it was a great experience. I learned during the interview that the main focus is the customers. They are very honest with their customers and they actually care about your well being, it just surprised me cuz when you think about pawn shops you think about being chipped and lied to about the value but I can honestly say from a hour and a half interview they are very warm hearted and caring. I have been to Tobey's on numerous occasions this year. Every time I go, I see something new at both of their locations. They have a good selection of coins and guns.
