I was very disappointed today with my "express" oil change service. I waited almost an hour and forty five minutes during a scheduled appointment. Then I noticed that the undiscounted price that I was charged was almost $50 more than the quoted online price of $99.95. Even with the "hidden fees" (mysterious $6.19 "environmental service", extra $8.11 "shop supplies", punitive $4.24 "hazardous materials" charge) extras, it was more than expected. I'll give one star back for the $15 discount that the service advisor gave me because it took so long. I do appreciate that. However, no mention of why it was more expensive versus what was quoted online. Even more sad is the lack of care that the Wenzel team puts into their customer service. No smiles. No greetings. I felt unwanted as a customer. You would think that, after an hour or more the service advisor would come and update the customer and let then know that the service is taking longer than expected (which we all know is BS). And, you better not talk to anyone but your "assigned" service advisor, as i was curtly directed to someone else. And finally, in order the get my "multi-point" inspection report you now have to call Onstar? Why not just print it instead of subjecting your customers to a forced sales pitch? I am reporting them to any and every agency possible. I am the owner of a 2013 Ford F-150 that I cannot drive. Immediately upon purchase started having serious issues and ultimately ended up with a quote from them stating the vehicle NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. Their big selling point? "Even though you are buying a Pre-Owned vehicle, You are COVERED! you have a Power train warranty 24 months or 24,000 miles, That's total BS too, WYNN's extended warranty company. I was told to take it to a Ford Dealership, which I did. Ford replaced the Turbo Eco booster, Camshaft Phasers on it and Vacuum pump but had an awful time getting good parts for it, the warranty company sent an inspector out to Ford. Warranty company would not authorize payment for actual Ford Replacement parts, they said we will send you the part. They use C & K Auto parts, for used or refurbished parts. Also Ford told me I had to pay an additional $1,800.00 out of pocket for parts the warranty company would not cover, like the nuts, bolts, lines, gaskets, basically all the parts required to replace the part they were going to replace to complete the repair. I am posting this to make potential customers aware of their very deceptive, dishonest practices. Just recently purchased a used vehicle from Todd Wenzel. Less than 12 hours of driving it off the lot, 3 sensors were going off and check engine light. I kindly called the dealership and they said - NOPE! Buyer Beware. They were kind all the way up to the Cash! I've been very fortunate to have leased cars from Todd Wenzel Chevrolet for the past 5 years, and am extremely impressed with all aspects of my experiences. My current lease I made an extreme challenge for them, having forgotten vital paperwork for the new lease. Dale Shaub, the sales representative who helped me again this time made it seem like a trifling...when I know it required a lot of extra work on their part. To illustrate, they had to make me a new license plate at the dealership! (Now you know how dedicated they are to excellent customer service. This all took awhile, but they kept me well-caffeinated and socialized above and beyond the call.) I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I went to the Todd Wenzel used car dealership in Hudsonville, the sales associate who sold me my car is Kaden, he clearly does not know what he is doing and should not promise his customers things that are not even close to true. I bought a 2011 GMC Terrain, it looked to be in great condition, my mom went with me, he promised my mom that everything was checked and tested mechanically and that everything was good to go. Not even a week after purchasing it, the check engine light came on, the traction control light, the tire pressure monitor system light, and the ABS light came on as well as a support bar breaking. I brought my car in to the service people at the dealership, they said that to fix everything that was broken would cost $2,100. The manager JS said that they would not cover any charges because I already bought the car. If i wanted to spend another couple grand on the car, I would have just bought a more expensive one in the first place. I was 100% sold a Lemon. This is my first time financing a car and they have made it a very unenjoyable experience; I went here because I thought it was a reputable dealership who I could trust but clearly, I was wrong. If you choose to go here to purchase a car, I would highly recommend not working with Kaden. I feel as if I was taken advantage of because I'm a young girl. read more

DO NOT BUY USED HERE! We bought my daughter's first car from Fox off 28th street. It ran well and when the doors had an issue days later and they fixed it for free. She got in an accident and we bought a car here from Shaun Hill. My daughter spent her own $. This car stalled out on the HIGHWAY within 24 hours nearly causing an accident again!!! It kept stalling out. When we went to a local dealership they said the check engine light was likely cleared and that's typical of Todd Wenzel. When we went to return the car JS and get our $ back he told us is was as is (so was the one from Fox) and that's what you get in this price range. (The car from Fox was wonderful). He would trade it in for less than we bought and give us another death trap. It sad to think the Wenzels drive around their private plane on the $ of teen girls who nearly crash within 24 hours of purchasing one of their cars. Zero integrity. Zero accountability. I showed up on time at 10 AM to have my recalled airbag replaced and was told by Cory, the service manager, that it would take an hour and a half to complete. I didn't receive the promised call by 1 PM, so I called him. Cory told me he would contact the tech and call me right back, which he did not do. So I went there to get it, as I had a scheduled 2 PM appointment. The truck had not been touched, so my spouse waited for it and I took her car. She then informed him that she had a 3 PM appointment, and needed the truck by 2:30. Then he complained that "someone should have told him they needed it done early." Well, here's an idea, Cory: keep the promises you make. Don't say you're going to do something, then blow it off. If you were not going to work on the truck until the end of the day, you should have said so. Our time is just as valuable as yours, Friend. read more

First off, we will start with Jeff Filkins in sales. I bought a used truck (2022 gmc Duramax Denali) that had a huge scratch in it, (couldnt see it because they refused to rewash it for me) he said he would take care of it. They did no such thing, told me to reach out to the body shop which said they had no record they were supposed to fix it. When i called back to jeff, he said he would reach out to his sales manager and let me know. Which he never did. Now $1,000 later out of my own pocket, another body shop will do the right thing. Fast forward 2 months. I bring it in for one of the first free oil changes. The service shop dents the hell out of my roof and scratches the side all up while taking it through a car wash that i said do not take it through. Alje Buiter in the service center then proceeds to act like this is not a big deal. He assures me they will fix it along with many other issues the truck had while i had it under certified warranty. With that said, they said they "did me a favor" when replacing the tailgate speakers that were broke and service "ate the cost". Last time i checked, "bumper to bumper certified" covers just that for the 12 months/ 12k miles. I paid nearly $3,000 for this protection for a reason. This whole process took about two months to complete. During which i had to follow up with the body shop due to no updates from Alje. Long story short if you dont care to read this, ive bought 3 very expensive trucks from this dealership in the past. I will never come to them again. Horrible service, horrible communication. I have chosen to use Todd Wenzel over the years for one sole reason, the proximity to my house. My cousin owns a dealership but is 2 hours away. The lack of customer care I continue to get from the service department is like nothing I have ever experienced before. I have brought my cars in both under warranty several times, and it takes months to get them back with no contact as to what is going on. No even a text message or email say "hey don't worry still working on it" this last time, and the mail in the coffin is the in about lift of their technicians to find the problem. Telling me it is just "how it is supposed to be. You are imagining things" like I haven't just drove my car for 100,000 miles and I don't know what normal is and isn't. I called my cousins dealership, and one of the senior techs over the phone said.... 90% positive this is what it is. Couldn't tell you for sure until actually taking it off and looking at it, but charging back to warranty I wouldn't think twice about replacing it." I asked would he road test it before hand.. said he would, as well as 30-40 mins of the engine just running. I got my truck back, 0.1 hours in the engine had gone by, and only 1 miles was added to the odometer. The tech said at todd Wenzel "it seems to be working like it should" But what amount of testing could this have been if they spent 6mins or less on it and never took it out of the parking lot. I've submitted a review to BBB as well cause this is grade and stupid Just take your car somewhere else... these techs and service advisors aren't worth the air they breath. read more

I forgot to write a review of our experience of Todd Wenzel Chevrolet. My wife and I were traveling to Indiana on Labor Day weekend when we got a flat tire. We drove off the highway and just by chance we were at the Hudsonville exit. Todd Wenzel was one of the only businesses open. Unfortunately their service garage was closed for maintenance. My wife and I have had several back surgeries and we are unable to change the tire ourselves, so we were quite literally stranded. A nice young manager, Bryan Reilly, was there and graciously changed the tire and got us back on the road. I would recommend Todd Wenzel Chevrolet for your next automobile purchase, I know I will. I have been getting my service done here for several years and have been very pleased with the quality of the service, the friendliness of the staff. One of my issues with other dealership service departments in town has been communication. I don't have that issue with Todd Wenzel. My car sat for 106 days (the fourth time) getting repaired, and was completely neglected by the dealership. Again, this was the 4th time for them fixing the same issue. I'm baffled as to why their technicians couldn't solve this the first three times? Leaking gaskets and seals around transmission and transfer case housing on a 2017 Equinox 40k miles. It was returned to me with a dead battery, rust and pitting on the rotors and brakes (which they used a wire brush to "clean up") and a bad windshield wiper despite them being brand new on arrival of the car way back in September. After finally getting the car back and dealing with the many headaches of this debacle (escalating the case to the district representative), I had to drive directly to AutoZone and spend $260 on additional expenses including the aforementioned items. Oh, and make sure you don't turn your vehicle off between the dealership and AutoZone because it might not turn back on I'm told. Mind you, it's 10° outside and I have my one year-old child and wife in the vehicle. I maintain my cars in amazing condition, and this vehicle was returned to me after nearly 4 months, in the worst shape it's ever been. If the car is going to sit there that long, at least take the battery out and put it on a battery tender, or start it up and drive it weekly. They said it was my fault, because the battery was original to the vehicle, although it had a great charge and was working fine before going in to their shop. I can assure you it went bad because you let it sit unattended in subzero temps for months on end. Please, for their sake, develop a better system to maintain your future customers' vehicles. I've had such a terrible experience that I would recommend steering very clear of this dealership! They are very hard to deal with, and at times hard to get ahold of regarding the status of your vehicle. Go elsewhere for service if possible. They just do not treat their customers with the respect they deserve, and cut corners wherever possible. I don't normally leave reviews, but I thought this one was worth my time. *** After leaving this review on Google, I was contacted by Chevrolet customer assistance whom I was working with, and asked to never returned to Todd Wenzel again! Who has a paying customer insure a vehicle, assure them that everything is getting taken care of, bring the vehicle home, and then 2 days later falls through with the deal and has the customer bring it back to the dealership?!? Immediately headed over to Berger for the same vehicle (2020 Chevy Blazer) except this time it was fully loaded with a panoramic sunroof, blacked out rims, AWD, etc. for a $20 cheaper payment per month. If you want a seamless process, best deals in town, trusted and professional dealership, and want someone to go above and beyond your expectations to take care of you, GO TO BERGER! My mother and I saw the Black Friday sale, which posted a *$5000 dollar minimum trade in, + 0% APR financing for a few months, I don't remember exactly how long. We were looking at buying a 2019 Chevy Cruze (see pic below), which is normally about $21,000 MSRP at this dealership. We had a rather poor car to trade in which met the requirements, and with some rather fierce negotiating, I was able to get this car for $16.5k OTD. Tax included. Brand new. If you want a good deal on your next car, COME HERE BEFORE THE MONTH ENDS!!! The staff was extremely friendly and I never felt a scummy vibe from them; in fact, we had some really cool conversations in passing the time, as well as a smooth experience during the price haggling. The staff is really cool as well; one of the financiers was a former MLB umpire, and talking with him was one of the coolest things I've done all year. We had great test drives of both the Cruze and the Trax, and they are very open to negotiation. If we had to do it, our financing options would have been great as well. TLDR; I went in here thinking a great or even OK deal was going to be impossible and I was going to have to walk away. I ended up getting a great deal beyond my wildest expectations. And I actually had a good time going to a car dealer. read more

The mechanical service provided was good. They did fix my vehicle, but the front of house service department was improbably apathetic. All three times I entered the building, I was met with no attention at all. I would stand amongst 7 or more employees and I was the only customer in the building. No one addressed me at all. My final visit, trying to pay my bill, I stood at least 3 minutes while everyone ignored me. Tim and Nick were helpful when they entered the building. The service manager, Jeff gave me an unmistakable feeling that I was an utter inconvenience to them. Would not recommend. If you can go somewhere else, I would. read more

I'm posting a review for my mother, who is 85 yrs old. She went to Wenzel for an oil change and to ask advice as to why her remote (for remote starter) was not working. $500 later, she was told she needed a new battery and thermostat. My mom is 85, she doesn't really know better to say she should get a 2nd opinion and check for better pricing somewhere else. This isn't the first time either, the last time it was brakes, tires, etc which ran her over $2000.. she lives on SS and a pension, I really feel they took advantage of an old lady, making her feel an urgency to get these things done, she went there because it's close to where she lives and didn't have to drive far. Treatment is poor by the desk service for no reason. They make you seem as if you are a bother rather than a customer. The workers stand in a group talking and ignore the single customer that is in the room. The service should be respectful and they should be willing to guide people through the process of signing in for an appointment and instead they took advantage of the opportunity to belittle the person who clearly didn't know what they were doing. read more

On 9/27/21 I brought my vehicle in for the repair of chips in my windshield. When I returned to pick up my vehicle on 9/28/21, there were deep scratches on the hood of my truck that were very obviously new as a result of the windshield repair. Once I noticed the scratches, I went back inside to discuss these new damages. I had first approached Justine Heath, the tech who had conducted the repair. I asked her if she had possibly placed tools on my hood during the repair, as I noticed scratches that resembled the placing and dragging/picking up of tools from my hood. Her response was "What side?", to which I explained to be the driver's side and middle, to which she replied, "Well yeah but I only put them on the passenger side of your hood." At this time, the tech sitting next to her states "Yeah, we normally don't do anything for scratches" As if this is a common issue?! After offering no solution, Justine brought her service manager Jerry Brott in. At first, Jerry argued that there was no chance that she had caused the damages. After showing both of them the damage, and upon further discussion, she changed her defense into placing her tools on the driver's side, but she had placed a rag under them. Discussion continues and Jerry then accepts the damages, but claims the farthest he will go to repair them is to buff only the spots of the scratches. Anyone in the automotive field knows that buffing only select spots and not the full panel would just result in larger blemishes. Aside from that, these scratches easily catch a fingernail, which indicates that they are too deep to be buffed out. My hood needs to be repainted and blended into the fenders for a complete repair, and all Jerry Brott attempted to offer was to further damage my vehicle. With a service manager which treats his customers as Jerry Brott does, I would highly advise everyone NOT TO BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR REPAIR. read more

This place is unorganized and has the worst customer service. We called a week ago to have recall work done to our car. We thought it was a serious recall since they were advertising on Pandora that my Airbags could kill one of us. They scheduled us almost a week out. When we took the car in they told us we didn't have an appointment even though we clearly made one for 10 am. Because we didn't have an appointment, even though we did, we didn't get a loaner car, we didn't get it done in the 2 hours they told us it would take over the phone (the call we apparently never made even though we have it in our records), and they weren't even sure if they had the part to fix it. Needless to say, we won't be taking our cars there for any service, nor will we be buying vehicles from them in the future. Go anywhere else but here. read more

Shortly after having an oil change service the Replace Air Filter indicator came on. I would think this would have been caught during the oil change? Returned to have filter replaced only to have the indicator come back on the next day. Returned again to have it cleared. When it came back on again the following day made another trip to the service area just to be told we would need to make an appointment. Well...no appointment! Went to look at a truck that was listed under by owner and I landed at the dealership. Okay fine, so I look at the truck and it isn't even what the worker posted. He showed me a different truck 2 years older and said he had a "typo". So okay I like the truck decide to buy it then I get hit with a $200 docking fee... okay I am annoyed but fine I will pay it because I want the truck... then I go to sign the title and they have an "optional" yet not so optional fee for them to transfer the title in your name. I said no I can take it to the Secretary of State myself. Well turns out they won't give you the title.... so needless to say I don't recommend this dealership... kinda lives up the shady untrustworthy car dealer name as shown in the movies. There are always hidden fees , for example when they say $40,000 off the lot... that is never the case. Side note their customer lounge (6 chairs in front of a tv) is disgusting... I didn't want to even sit down while I was waiting because the chairs were fulls of stains. read more

So, I go in there one evening knowing a lot about what i was looking for. Reliable vehicle, bigger than the sedan i have now, but not a truck. I get a better price than the competition on a 2010 Ford Escape with low miles. Many dealers sold similar vehicles around the area that were the same price and not nearly as good mechanically, or cosmetically. Tony, the salesman was very honest about everything. The first car I test drove before the 2010 Escape was a mercury mariner, lower priced, but did have some engine issues. No light was on, so if Tony had not have said that, I maybe would have gone for that just because of the price, as I'm young and very price conscious. He was honest, and customer focussed, for sure. I get back and he asked what I thought and had the 2010 Escape ready to go. It was a 2010 with one owner, and in immaculate shape, which he showed me the history for proof. He stayed later that night, and did the paperwork, and was remaining customer focussed the entire time. I had a gut feeling Tony was not in this to screw someone, and wanted to keep a customer coming back. If this vehicle ends up being reliable, I'll for sure be back. Through the time we were there he also tried to keep the waiting to a minimum, whenever possible. That was also appreciated. The finance guy was diligent and got right to work on getting me the approval that I needed to finance this vehicle. The thing that got me with him is that he told me with the $1000 I'm putting down now, I'll get this ethos coverage. He said there were 2 options, which was that or put $1500 more down and get additional coverage. Price concious, i chose the $1000 option. Come to find out, the coverage itself only covers "qualified mechanical breakdowns" through only certain mechanics. So, i may not get to see my mechanic of choice. All in all, even covered i may not be covered for much, and may be paying for coverage and repairs. Full coverage insurance on the vehicle already, so what this extra $2,000 does???? He lead me to believe it was required, when ACTUALLY I have 30 days to call and cancel. A little misleading on his part. Anyway, the next morning i was approved, I called and got insurance, drove up there in the afternoon, got a nice loaner for the afternoon, then everything was wrapped up by 5 pm the next evening. The service department rocked it too! Very fast, i got what i was looking for. The monthly payments are affordable for what i have, yet the finance department could have been a little more straightforward like Tony was. 3 Stars because of that, and also because i know someone who got shafted here AND also someone who's loved their experience. read more

Then I decided to go with a new one, which nick, the used sales guy told me he could help me with a new one also. He also told me they have 0% interest for 72 months on a 2020 2500 series truck I wanted, and that the truck was in the new lot. We drive almost 2 hrs one way and the truck hasn't been delivered yet from factory. Then I find out they don't have 0% on the 2500 models. Wasted a entire day. read more

My Husband and I just purchased a vehicle from here, and we were very pleased with the service we received. My Husband and I needed new wheels due to his truck taking a poop. We've been shafted and given the run around from different dealerships in the past, so we went to go test drive this vehicle with a lot of apprehension. I had a text conversation with someone name Justin, but Jeremy is who we worked with, and he was very nice and up front, and seems like a decent trustworthy person. We were there kinda late past what the credit union and our insurance agency were open. They still let us take the car home that night, and comeback the next day to sign papers. Isiah, their finance guy, was very helpful, broke down everything we were signing, and did well to explain things. All in all, it was a pleasant experience; and we were very prepared to walk away disappointed in another dealership, but it was very much the opposite. Thanks guys! I love my new Buick! read more

The service rep, Dakota, was extremely patient, helpful, understanding, and kept a great line of communication with updates on my vehicles status & provided a loaner vehicle through the duration of my issue. I love the facility & go out of my way to drive the hour to goto Todd Wenzel as opposed to my local Cheverolet dealer, because the customer service at Todd Wenzel is so good. I've been looking around for a Rav4 and found one on at this lot. It was the color I wanted and had good mileage. It was about $600 overpriced but I was curious and went to go look. Carguru.com also said it had been for sale for 100+ days. That was one of the first things I asked about and the sales person I was working with brushed it off as being a result of Covid-19. I got in to test drive it and quickly discoverd why the car had been there so long. The breaks on this thing were WACK. Like they-probably-should-not-have-let me-drive-this-car wack. When I voiced my concerns, the sales person pretended to look shocked like this was the first he was hearing of this problem. I did not like my experience here. read more

I had my car towed to your dealership for service even though I was suggested by others to take it elsewhere. I paid the tow fees to get it there then waiting anxiously till Monday when your shop re-opened, I dropped it after hours over the weekend. I can say I'm extremely disappointed in your service dept customer service as no one from your company called me to tell me they were working on my car or called me to tell me what was wrong or get my approval to fix it. I appreciate the fact that you fixed my car, but your customer service sucks. The salesman, Denny Barker was amazing and very professional. The problem we had was, we leased a 2020 Silverado in October, the sales manager recorded our old address from a former purchase and the rest was just an avoidable nightmare! The plate was sent to the prior address and we had no plate for 4 weeks. Then Denny had them send a dealer plate, thank you Denny. Then we never got payment notice at our current address and finally realized we needed to get paying on the vehicle. Got a "pay or..." call from GM leasing. Called Wenzel 2 times got VM. Got a live person and they promised the GM would call as soon as he was off the phone. That was 3 hours ago. Called GM leasing and finally got the correct address on the contract. The service we've received at Wenzel has been acceptable. We've mainly gone there for $19.95 oil changes because we became part of the Todd Wenzel Platinum Program when we purchased our new Equinox. The Platinum Program promises "$19.95 oil changes for as long as you own your vehicle" We were informed that this perk no longer applies. Even read the fine print, no reason to raise the price on these oil changes. Next time we purchase from a dealer that keeps their promises. read more
