They got good tofu. I order one today stew with beef and the other one with mushrooms. They use the fatty beef and the broth is too oily for me. That combined with be good with mid spicy or higher. But the mushroom one is perfect to get the clear broth. I'll order hot &spicy with the meat tofu in the future. That will be a perfect balance with some fat and spicy with the rice. I'm a big fan of this place and very surprised on the low reviews. When I come here, the place is always empty with 1-2 tables (also surprising but I'm thankful I don't have to wait). Service is very quick and friendly. I always get the LA Galbi + pork soon tofu combo. I suggest mild soon tofu soup if you cannot handle spicy. I've been coming here for years to satisfy my soondubu cravings. The service is always consistent, banchan is solid and food is delicious. I would say it is on par with a lot of the korean restaurants that specialize in tofu stew in the area in terms of quality & quantity of food and pricing. They have a pretty extensive menu with BBQ meat combos, apps and other entrees if you're in the mood for other Korean food but I've always defaulted to the classic beef tofu stew. Had an awesome lunch at tofu story, I pass this place every time I head to work, today I decided to stop in for some lunch. I ordered the combination tofu bowl, consist of beef, seafood,and tofu mild spicy. It was delicious, they also offer me optional white rice or purple rice. Today was my first time trying purple rice, I loved it, it was very tasty. The server mentioned it was healthier and many people ordered it instead of white rice. My bill came out to be $16 for the tofu bowl, all the side they gave were actually free, and If you like one side more the server would offer you seconds. The service here is really spot on, the waitresses were really hospitable to our large group and we ordered a lot of food and it all came out very fast and hot. They also never stopping refilling the banchon and drinks. The sundubus were okay. One of our friends ordered mild but he felt like it was much spicier than mild, strange for being the lowest spice level on the menu. Came in to eat around 9:30 since I thought the restaurant closes at 11. The staff started packing up already at 10 and closed the AC while we were still eating and asked us to pay the bill first. I have only tried the meat dumplings so I can't say how the dine in food is. I got the dumplings to go and they steam it to order which takes about 5 mins. You get 9 dumplings and they are pretty big for each piece. I like that they put quite a bit of filling and the skin is pretty thin. Flavor wise, it is more on the mild side if you don't use any dipping sauces. The filling is a mix of meat and veggies with some glass noodles. I like that the dipping sauce is sweet, savory and tangy. I feel like it would go really nice with a side of kimchi or pickled radish for the extra zip of flavor. The total came out to be $13 after tax which is a bit hefty in price for dumplings, but they are a pretty decent size if you have it as a meal. If you are starving then I would say it wouldn't be the most filling, but for a quick no fuss meal, I enjoyed this quite a bit. I haven't tried their tofu items, but I am curious to try it if I were to dine in. They also have these large buns that you can get to go for $3 along with the dumplings. Then they bring out the steam hot bowl of goodness with a side of bap (rice). This place has decayed in terms of food and service. I an having lunch on a Tuesday at 1 pm and i cannot get service in a restaurant where there are only 3 tables out of the entire place. We order the seafood tofu soup, bland at best, it had 1 shrimp and 1 clam and some thinly sliced zucchini. The egg was like extra small. Always been my go to place for Korean tofu. I been coming since it was called Mr. Tofu. I think the food is very good and consistent from the times I have come. They use to open till much later but still a good time. I feel the tofu soups are very good. I always get the extra . They make a very good Japchae. I just about alway also get the Kalbi and bulgogi. They make this very good I feel. The spicy pork belly is yummy as well. This place also offers a good amount of the free dishes which is very nice even though I only eat the tofu one. However friends and family always seems to enjoy. Other then the service this place is very good. Service can be spotty only due to the fact they seem to always be short staffed. If you come when slow service is pretty good. Prices are on par with most Korean restaurants. Back again! This is probably my favorite korean food spot on Northern Blvd. Their naengmyun is icy and very satisfying. Their combos are still at a great price! We got two mul naengmyun one with spicy pork combo and one regular. If you ask, they can swap the meat combos wirh another in the soon tofu section! At least thats what the manager told us! The spicy fatty pork and the cold vingeary noodles really balanced each other out! Will definitely be back, especially since the weather is going up. Service is 5/5 and food is 5/5!
