This is my first time at Togo's with my coworkers and it was good. I like it but it did take a bit long. But we were just picking up our orders to bring to the office. I would go back again.

I am so upset that the quality in your subs has really declined. The meat on my family size 16 was paper thin. I have been a lifetime customer and this is unacceptable.

I think I've rated this Togos 1 star before? Well if I have here I am again giving it 1 star. I stoped by at 745 pm with about 15 to spare before closing time to get a sandwich,. I see the open sign turned on and some folks drinking at the bar and some employees walking around the sand which station. I get off the car and try opening the door and it's locked, all the people inside near the bar area and the sandwich station turn around without letting us know they're closed I walk away. After I get in the car I see an employee coming up to the door and placing a chair to secure the door from opening, keep in mind the doors are already locked at 745 pm. @TOGOS, if you're closing before your scheduled time please update google, yelp and the hours of operation outside of your door. I don't know why I keep coming here if I get horrible service.

I work down the street, so I tend to get a quick sandwich from here at least once a week. The sandwiches are pretty good, loaded with meat and the works to your liking. Also, they are as cheap as McDonalds (yuk) super size meals; that is if you order one of the daily crazy combos. Mysteriously, the take-out sandwiches are roughly $0.35 cheaper, so even when planning to eat on location, I order as takeout. Although the food, price and location are optimal, the ordering process can be quite exhausting. This is the actual dialogue from today's visit: Togo's: What would you like to order? Me: I'll have today's roast beef combo on sourdough with everything but mayo...to-go please Togo's: What kind of bread...white or wheat? Me: Neither...sourdough Togo's: Which combo? Me: Roast beef Togo's: Did you want everything on that? Me: Yes, but no mayo Togo's: Mustard? Me: Yes Togo's: Did you want the combo? Me: Yes Togo's: For here or to-go? Me: To-go It's exhausting to repeat myself multiple times, and it makes me wonder if they simply can't remember my order or if they are confirming it. I think it's the former, so during my next visit I will order in baby steps to minimize the repetition. Although repetitive, the service is polite and they do make delicious and fresh sandwiches, no skimping on anything. If you want to skip the longer lines, make sure you arrive prior to the lunch rush that typically begins at around 11:45.

Great service, 3 of us were together and he was pretty fast getting everything prepared for us! The sandwiches for all of us were to satisfaction, and we will probably go back to have lunch every so often! Great place to grab sandwiches, kind of like subway, however you don't pick all you want on each sandwich, though you can take on or add as you want! Bonus for getting a free drink when checking in on Yelp. They have a bar.. Which I find kind of interesting for a sandwich place, but there were quite a few people there getting drinks, so I am assuming they have been before and appreciate the service and products. Over all pretty good experience, nothing fancy, but does the trick for a nice lunch close to the business area.

I am up im the south bay area for work I have never been to a Togos like this-IT IS AWESOME! They have a full bar and delicious sandwiches! Saul is awesome and Lea the bartender is great! This is truly a unique restaurant/bar and i appreciate their vision! I usually get the #21 ( a veggie avocado sandwich) but tonight Saul had me try the Boom Boom (pastrami and boom boom sauce)! YUMMY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANY OUT OF TOWNER. There's nothing like it around! (And I'm from Orange county. ..

They love the "holiday turkey" at Earl of sandwich which has stuffing and gravy. This one is more similar to Togo's turkey cranberry and they feel they are about the same. We ordered fries and onion rings too. It took awhile because they had to heat up the oil in the fryer. There were more than 3 employees. It looks like the previous taqueria with a new menu board. I'm not a sandwich person but if I had to eat a sandwich, "the melt" here was good and I would try some of the others.

It usually takes me two and a half hours but hey I get to see my friends and drop in on Dittmer's. I usually buy the smoked ham hocks because I am addicted to a Cuban black bean soup. I have tried smoked ham hocks from other sources, but the results were so bad that I threw out the soup. The only place I have found that has true smoked ham hocks is Dittmer's. I noticed the price of ham hocks has gone up. But many of the other prices have held steady. The store remains neatly organized and is spic and span. It's kind of what you would expect from a German shop. Carlo's black bean soup from All around the world cookbook by Sheila Lukins. Totally worth a 2.5 hour drive. 2 pounds of black beans Quarter cup olive oil 3 cups, diced onions Eight cloves of garlic, bruised and peeled. One smoked ham hock 6 quarts water 2 tablespoons +1 teaspoons ground cumin 1 tablespoon dried oregano Three bay leaves. 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper Pinch of cayenne 6 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley 6 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves. 1 teaspoon salt Two medium red bell peppers, diced reserve a quarter of a cup for the garnish Quarter cup dry sherry 1 tablespoon pack of brown sugar 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice. One cup of crème fraîche or sour cream. Soak the beans overnight, drain and rinse. Heat the oil over low heat and sweat the onions and garlic, about 10 minutes. Add the beans with the ham and the water to a large pot. Stir in the 2 tablespoons cumin, the oregano, bay leaves, black pepper, cayenne, and 2 tablespoons each of the parsley in cilantro. Bring to a boil, then simmer, uncovered until the beans are very tender and the liquid is reduced by about 3/4. This will take about one and a half to two hours. Transfer the bone to a plate and let it cool slightly. shred the meat and return it to the pot. Stir in the remaining 4 tablespoons parsley, 2 tablespoons cilantro, salt, and all except 1/4 of a cup of the bell peppers, the remaining 1 tablespoon cumin, the sherry, brown sugar and, lime juice. Simmer another 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Adjust the seasoning and serve hot. Garnish with a dollop of crème fraîche and a sprinkling of the diced peppers and chopped cilantro. Hence why I stopped here one warm late afternoon despite having lots of food options in this downtown-y area. The Godfather ($15ish/5*) When I first try a deli I will usually try their Italian combo. It's a classic sub I love but honestly I find it hard to find an above average one. I'm not sure if the art of making one has been lost, but within the last decade or so, I strike out more than I get hits. Usually the meat to bread to produce ratio is off. Sometimes the meats are too salty/poor quality. Other times the sauce/dressing flavor is off. I am so stoked that I found a legit one here. They use prosciutto, mortadella and salami here, all my faves. I hate when a place uses American ham/cheese on an Italian sub. And all the meats are of quality, not too salty at all. Provolone was the cheese, textbook. I chose a sourdough roll and even though requires a good amount of teeth strength to bite off a piece and to chew, it was pretty damn satisfying. The interior is soft yet chewy. They definitely use a solid bread company. The bites were what I consider to be classic Italian sub flavors. No curve balls like pesto, red peppers or strong mustard. Just quality meats with great textures, fresh produce dressed in oil n' vinegar so it taste like a good salad. And the kicker that pleasantly surprised me were chunks of marinated artichoke hearts so this made you feel like biting into an antipasto platter just in sandwich form. So Damn Solid. Italian Sausage Sandwich ($15ish/4*). Even though solid I didn't love this as much as the cold sub. They ask what type of sausage mild or hot Italian. Chose hot, no surprise. They said this will take longer to make, like about 10 minutes. I chose a regular sweet French roll for this. Not as chewy as the sourdough roll, much softer but still has body. I liked the flavors of warm marinara with their unique sausage, quite classic once again. But the sausage they use is super thick like twice as thick as a common Italian sausage link. They do split it so it covers the bread but that sausage is one of the firmest textures I've ever had for a sausage. Sausage by nature because of the grind usually bites easily. Not here, I had to bite so hard that the meat couldn't stay in the bread. I think the casing was unusually tough for some reason. I eventually peeled it off. Decent flavors but problematic to eat cleanly. $35+ (after T&T) for 2 sandwiches seems pricey but really it is the new reality. 10 years ago this would have been about $20ish. Welcome to the new world order. Lol

Every meat on the sandwich was fatty, including the mortadella, which was unusually greasy and unlike anything I've seen before. The texture made the sandwich very unpleasant to eat. It also made me question whether the meats had been stored properly, though I can't say for sure. The bread was average and didn't seem very fresh either. Maybe going later in the day means the ingredients have been sitting too long, but either way, this sandwich was difficult to enjoy and ended up in the trash.
