After returning from my NYC trip, I was inspired to seek out local bagel shops in search of bagel that are as good as the ones I had when I visited NYC. I did a search and found Bagel Street Cafe. It's located in the shopping center at the corner of Mathilda & Maude... sandwiched between Marty's Donuts on the left and KFC on the right. I stopped by to pick up some bagels to take home. It wasn't busy when I stopped by just before noon. There was one lady worknig there and she was super nice. I made the mistake of assuming that bagels on the shelves matched the flavor sign on the glass in front of the shelves. This is certainly not the case. I saw bagels behind the Super Combo and Onion signs. So I asked for some Super Combo bagels and some Onion bagels. The lady then told me that they were out of Onion bagels (and here I am thinking "but wait, I see bagels on the shelf behind the Onion sign). She then tells me that the bagels I see on the Onion shelf are 3 other flavors, Pesto, Spinach and I think she said the third one was Asiago. The Pesto and Spinach shelves appeared empty (on the right side, see photo). Well this is certainly confusing. So my tip to you is to not go by the bagels you see on the shelves. This is not the indicator of what flavors the have in stock. Just look at all the flavor signs and then ask for the ones you want to get. They could have a flavor in stock even if that shelf looks empty. And a flavor could be out of stock even if that shelf has bagels on it. I ended up picking up half dozen bagels (Super Combo, Pesto, and Spinach flavors). I had the Pesto and Spinach bales toasted with cream cheese. And I made sandwiches with the Super Combo bagels. I enjoyed all of them. I will have to go back and try some of their other flavors. There isn't a lot of seating inside, a few tables inside and 2 outside. I think most people take it to go. There's plenty of parking at this shopping center. Didn't see a restroom for customers. Not a big deal since I'm local. But it's something to consider if you're traveling and want to stop here for a bite to eat as you pass through the area. I know it's common practice to want to stop for both food and a comfort stop when traveling. Plus it would be nice having the ability wash hands after eating. read more

I was working nearby for the day and had plenty of time to waste so I looked for a light breakfast. This was the random place I picked and the menu and pictures from yelp made it easy to select from all of the options. Located off of Mathilda sharing a nice sized parking lot with a few other businessmen so you won't have issues parking. I initially came in to try the pizza bagel but ended up deciding on a chicken pesto bagel on a jalapeño cheddar bagel, which didn't disappoint. I added some hot sauce that they had with the other forget me not additives. Very fresh and flavorful. I also grabbed a giant snickerdoodle cookie from the counter. Those items and a can of coke came out to 16 bones roughly. Not the cheapest but I wouldn't say that I felt ripped off in the slightest. The line moved pretty quick and the service was nothing over the top but friendly and respectful nonetheless. I got a small vanilla iced latte with oatmilk... it came out to 9 dollars. When I asked her; she said it's because of the add ons. Flavor and milk... which it says .50 cents unless it went up. But yeah not sure I'd come back. 9 dollars is a little much for an iced vanilla latte. read more

They serve breakfast and deli-style lunch items and nothing that I have tried so far has ever disappointed. #BringOnTheYum The staff is super friendly and highly efficient... whenever there is a line, it goes by very quickly due to their fast and friendly service. I've even ordered catering for a work event through this location and everything went through seamlessly! Every morning starts off a little bit better when I stop here before going to work. I was in town visiting family so I decided to check this place out for breakfast! I got a plain bagel with sausage, egg, & cheddar cheese. I also got a hot matcha latte with oat milk, plain bagels and cream cheese. From first looks I was unsure about the taste but the bagel sandwich was one of the best I've had. I had never had a hot matcha latte but from the first sip I was impressed & it was perfectly sweetened. The customer service was good. There's limited seating indoors. I just came back from NY and this bagel was almost as good as NY -- it had a great chew to it! I ordered the Nova Lox and Cream cheese sandwich! It was only $12 which is such a bargain. The amount of cream cheese they put on it is perfect and the lox was so fresh! They also put quite a bit of capers on it which I personally love. I was led here from yelp after a night shift and the line was out the door- I knew I had to try it. This place was bussssyyyy but they were fast and efficient! I don't know how they do it! There were 4 people taking orders and only 1 cashier.. it was non stop. The place had 2-3 small tables outside and a few inside - definitely more of a to go place. The breakfast bagel sandwiches seemed to be popular but I had my stomach set on their lox bagel sandwich and it didn't disappoint. Bagel Street Cafe is located in the same plaza as Lucky with plenty of parking so you can usually get in and out fairly quick. I used to come here every week when I worked in Sunnyvale - I haven't been here in so many years and it's still the same bagel shop as I remembered. Highly recommend coming here early in the morning so you have more bagel options available. This time I stopped by around lunch time and they only had about 4-5 bagel options left. I went with my all time favorite, bagel with honey butter (technically not a cream cheese). They even toast your bagel for you which is nice but wish they smeared more honey on it because some parts of the bagel didn't have any of the honey butter. I've basically tried all of their cream cheeses; scallion, jalapeño, sun dried tomato, strawberry, and veggie are some of my favorites. My bf got the cheese bagel eggwich with pepper jack cheese which was also pretty tasty. But I'm more of a plain Jane, I usually stick with bagel and a cream cheese spread. They do have other items there like breakfast bagels, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, melts and even an espresso bar for any hot or cold drinks. FYI, they take card, cash, or mobile pay. read more

You can get it with a load of different toppings, standards being egg and cheese or egg, meat and cheese. The garlic herb cream cheese spread was soft and creamy and had good flavor. It was also green colored which I found interesting. I'd prefer to see fresh eggs as an option, but can understand given these guys busy operation they'd have no time to cook eggs lol. For coffee they had some basic roasts, would have liked to see hazelnut as an option, but I'm biased because that's my favorite ;) Service: Fast and to the point, they don't have time to be too friendly haha. The main cashier lady can start some interesting conversations with you though that can border on being cringe. Ambiance: same as all their other locations, your average bagel street cafe. They do keep it nice and toasty in there which is great on a cold day. Final notes: The line can form randomly and is unpredictable, but moved quick. Parking is in a large lot with other businesses including a Lucky supermarket so no issues finding parking. read more

I had passed by this spot before and decided to take the boyfriend to have some breakfast bagels before work. I was really excited because it seemed like a good place with good foot traffic. We wait in line which wasn't long at all then are asked what we would like. My boyfriend choose the #4 which was a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and meat. She asks what cheese and my boyfriend was like what cheese do you have? Shen then rudely responds to look at the sign and points to a red signage stand that was TURNED AROUND and not in our view. I had to quit literally move the whole thing around for us to see the cheeses. Then my boyfriend asks if he can add cream cheese to the bagel. When its my turn I ask for the #4 which is just egg and meat. She asks me what meat and I ask her what meats do they have (because this was not on the signage she had rudely pointed to earlier) and begins to list the meats. I take a couple seconds to think what meat and within 5 seconds she begins to list the same meats again with the same monotone voice she had the entire time. I look to my boyfriend to ask him whether he thinks I should get bacon or sausage and within another 5 seconds she lists the meats AGAIN but faster and louder as if to hurry me up and at that point I snapped and told her " I hear you I'm just thinking". I found this extremely rude to say them 3 times all within 20 seconds and to get louder and faster as if SHE was annoyed. I promise I am not the type to take long to decide, efficiency is my game but she didn't even give me 5 seconds each time to decide. What made this worse is she could hear in my tone when I responded I was getting irritated and then says "sorry" while smiling and gave a little laugh which was obvious it wasn't sincere. We step to the side to wait and then shortly after she asks again what meat my boyfriend got, which both of ours was sausage. Moving on to the payment we pay and then she stops the cashier and tells them she forgot to charge for the extra cream cheese and then pulls out one of the bagels and I ask her if she even put the cream cheese in there and she didn't. They have to cancel and reput the order which was the cherry on top. Overall it seems like she doesn't take her job seriously and isn't present with customers. She spent so much time annoyingly repeating the meats 3 times to me she couldn't even remember what my boyfriend ordered. This was a very unfortunate visit for our first time and we won't be back. To management: Please train your staff on customer service or at least hire people who would appreciate their job and treat it with pride. It wasn't busy for the service we received and the whole matter was quite frankly disappointing. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for a while but haven't gotten around to trying it until today! My coworker and I were looking for a bagel shop nearby work and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. It's located in the same plaza as Pizza Hut, falafel place, Lucky's, and Bank of America. Lots of parking. We came around 11:00am and there were only 2 people working in the front. Cute little cafe with fantastic bagels and great service. I have never seen a honey corn bagel before so I ordered one with honey butter - it was fantastic. The honey corn bagel reminded me of cornbread but in bagel form. The gentleman making the drinks and ringing customers up was fast, he heard us telling our orders to the women making the bagels and immediately made our drinks even though he was ringing another customer up. We ordered three items for pick up from here: vegetarian egg sandwich, a bagel with cream cheese and a lox bagel. The bagel with cream cheese had a surprisingly small amount of cream cheese. I understand we're not in New York but I was shocked. The garlic cream cheese had an almost pesto like flavor which while I like pesto I was not expecting from the flavor description. The lox bagel was decent and I appreciated the salty bite of the capers. As for the vegetarian egg sandwich- this was like eating cardboard. I noticed another reviewer describe exactly what I tasted- no seasoning at all. Like not even salt. I don't plan to return. :( read more
