Steak cooked to perfection (the way I asked for); roll was FRESH and tasty - perfect spice ratio! Lunch came with entree', soup, ginger salad, soy, yum yum, and brown ginger sauce. Service was swift, attentive and friendly! Ambiance warm enough for prom date, or any special occasion. Come casual or all dressed up, no matter. Price can't be beat either. This review is NOT about the food. Food is EXCELLENT. We used to absolutely love Toke Sushi and Hibachi. The food has always been incredible -- fresh sushi, delicious hibachi, huge portions, and we almost always leave with enough leftovers for another meal at home. We even met the sushi chef during our last visit, and he was so kind and genuinely grateful for our business. We told him how much we brag about his talent and how many friends we've recommended this restaurant to. Unfortunately, one employee has completely ruined the experience for us. Every single time we've visited, we've ended up with the same older waitress with black hair who is consistently aggressive, rude, and condescending. She always seems irritated that customers are there at all. Today was the final straw. We purposely ordered takeout hoping to avoid another uncomfortable interaction with her, but we still had to deal with her anyway. When we got to our car, we realized one of our sushi rolls was missing, so we returned to either get the missing item or a refund. Instead of simply checking the order, she immediately became defensive and insisted we were wrong. She aggressively tore through all of our takeout containers searching for the missing roll, and when she finally realized the restaurant had actually forgotten it, there was still no apology -- just more attitude and rudeness. To make matters worse, after she dug through all of the containers, our food ended up spilled throughout the plastic takeout bag. It's really disappointing because the food itself and the sushi chef deserve praise, but customer service matters too. Sadly, this experience was enough for us to decide we won't be coming back. We'd rather make the hour drive to Konomi in Trussville than continue being treated this way. read more

It's hard to find good and fresh sushi. This place accomplished it all. It was clean, our waitress was very kind and they were packed but we still got everything in an efficient manner. I ordered the salmon roll and Guntersville roll. I always stick to one basic just incase and both were very good. I can't wait to go back and try more! read more

We stopped in here for an early dinner while in the area. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Hibachi. First of all, the service was fast and friendly and the place was clean and comfortable. Now to the food. With this dinner you receive a soup and a salad with ginger dressing. The soup was way too salty. The salad had more dressing than lettuce, with the dressing just being okay. As for the main part of the meal, I had ordered the fried rice which was tasty and seasoned perfectly. The menu says it comes with veggies so I'm thinking I'll get some vegetables. The veggies consist of a little cabbage, two pieces of broccoli, a few small slivers of carrot, with the rest onions. I like a little onions with my dish, but when I order something with veggies I assume I'll get more than onions. They were flavored nicely but I just couldn't eat just onions. The chicken was flavorful. Just adding more cabbage, some extra carrots and more broccoli would have me giving it a 4-star. If I'm in the area again, I'll give them another chance but will order something else. read more

Takeout is horrible. The only way to hold them accountable is if you dine in, and even then that's a crap shoot. Sometimes they're good but beware if you get takeout. I mean, the red flags are there- there's never a packed house, they lost their liquor license a long time ago, and about the only folks you see dining in groups are cops usually. When they first opened I thought they were amazing, now I'm taking bets on how long they'll stay open. Hope I don't die from this sub standard take out meal I got. Gee thanks assholes! read more

We just had a terrible experience at this restaurant. We ordered take out and first of all we asked for medium well steak, the steak was medium rare/rare and very tough. The chicken was very very dry and hard, I even had to spit it out. They put maybe 5/6 pieces of steak in there. Also the rice was very dry. It's definitely not worth the price and the food was just overall not good. Then after having to throw away basically all the food we called to complain and the woman over the phone started arguing with us about the food. She even claimed "she knew the steak was cooked right because she tasted it." So she basically said she was sitting there tasting the food that was being prepared for a costumer and knew it was cooked right when it wasn't and said there was nothing she could do about it. She was very unprofessional and rude. Definitely will not be returning or be giving any good recommendations for this restaurant. If I could give 0 stars I would :( read more
