I don't recommend ever eating in a booth always sit at the Hibachi table I chose to sit at a booth and I ordered Steak & Shrimp Hibachi. The soup was great as always but when I received my meal it was swimming in Teriyaki sauce, it was so sweet I couldn't even eat it. When I asked for the manager, she came over and started talking as if she was mad at me. I explained the meal tasted like it had Maple syrup on it. She stated that was the way they cooked it. Now I have eaten here a lot but never at a booth and the Hibachi is great. But I didn't think I should pay for a $30.00 meal that I couldn't eat! Lesson learned! read more

A year ago we tried this restaurant and left shortly after. The soup was cold and the salads drenched with dressing after requesting none be added. Overall service was horrible. We decided to try again and it was the complete opposite. The service was great. The food was hot and the server got everything right. The cook was outstanding. A family of seven was seated with two infants. They ordered shared meals for everyone which complicated everything yet the servers and cook were patient and got everything right. My most favorite Japanese restaurant in Cullman is Ninja. I've eaten there several times now and have never had to wait for a table. The service is excellent. During my most recent visit I ordered the Sushi and Sashimi for two. It was served in a sushi boat that was very appealing to the eye. The boat came with 2 hand rolls, miso soup and a green salad with ginger dressing. The fish was very fresh. The rolls were delicious and the service was impeccable. As a bonus the the sushi chef prepared us a special roll to enjoy while we waited for the boat. The entire experience was excellent. On our next visit we will try the grill. Look for my review but don't miss this place if you enjoy great sushi and excellent service. read more

I don't ever like to leave low reviews, but this is absolutely warranted since I don't feel bad about it anymore and especially since it's a health issue. A couple months ago we stopped in for Lunch. The server we had was super kind, but the cook seemed less than thrilled to be there which I get it- we all have our bad days. The food was fine, but we ended up spotting a roach in the sugar packet thing at our hibachi table. The water cleared it all out for us without us causing a huge scene, but when we got the check the only thing comped was our sodas. If having to pay full price for food that was served in the same area as a roach's living quarters was the price we had to pay to never go back then so be it. read more

Cullman lacks a lot of diverse food options, so I feel I should give these guys a break. There is a lot of effort in making the restaurant ambiance. So I give them credit there. But the fish feature in front is pretty filthy. We also had an air vent above my wife drip water fairly consistently the whole meal.... The cooks are great at their jobs, the food was not bad and I really enjoy Hibachi style food so that makes up for the dinginess. read more

This place has got it going on! The food is AMAZING! They offer Hibachi Ribeye (which is rare) & it is PHENOMENAL! They have some of the best ginger dressing! Ninja is a nice little place. I'm Not a huge fan but I do enjoy it at lunch. They have a lunch hibachi special for $8. I can get in and Out of there quickly. It's not the cleanest place in town. Nice and clean sushi bar. Hot green tea was a Lipton bag. Miso soup was made with a packet, you could tell because of uniform pieces of tofu that were only partially hydrated by hot water. So , tea and soup..not so good. Sushi was prepared by a very polite young man. Nice amounts of ingredients and very tasty. The presentation was very thoughtful and overall was very acceptable sushi. The drawback that kept this from being a very good sushi review was that the rice was a little bland. It needed more rice wine vinegar when being prepared. The service was great. What the service couldn't make up for was the food. I ordered Chicken Udon and the sauce was literally oil. No seasonings, no flavor, just oil.
