This place was such a great surprise! My husband had the blackened grouper and a Hawaiian roll. I had a Ginger salad and Spicy tuna roll. It was ALL delicious!! They have fabulous sushi rolls! Went to visit my son in Jasper,Foster Cook at the Toyota Dealership and he suggested for us to go to lunch and get some sushi. He took me to what I thought was a gas station but when go in first door right in front of you is another door and it's a restaurant. It was small but very clean we sat down and immediately was given menu and asked what wanted to drink. Looked over menu and decided on fried crab claws -you get 3 sides. My son ordered blackened salmon and sides. My claws were amazing and cooked to perfection. My son said he loved salmon gets it almost every time also the sushi. Our server was very good and kept our drinks filled. Will definitely go back and visit with son if get to go eat here. read more

Honestly the food was overall very good to excellent, however, there is something to be said about the price point and the restaurants location and ambiance. Literally, this restaurant is inside a gas station. The restaurant has like 3-7 tables and about four bar high chairs at the sushi bar. These tables/booths are from mid-80s at best, not very appealing at all and exactly what you'd expect for a gas station restaurant. I ordered two combinations grouper/shrimp lunch specials, a kids chicken finger, and a sushi roll. After tip, I paid about 74.00. The combos consisted of 1 filet and 6 med-large sized shrimp and 2 sides. The food was really good, the price seemed unreasonable. I would pay this amount for what I got at a nice chain restaurant whose overhead is really high... overhead at this place should be minimal. (As a matter of fact, all the staff I came in contact with were.) BF is tucked into one side of a convenience store about a block from 78. It's very casual, so no need to don the dinner jacket & ascot; but don't let this fool you. It's a hidden gem that would pass muster in any city anywhere. The menu is extensive. The best seafood in town and the best sushi maybe anywhere. Their sushi is the freshest out of anywhere I go. You almost can't make a mistake on their giant menu. I've ate 75% of it and it's ALWAYS consistently good. Do not let the fact that this place is in a gas station fool you, this is THE place to eat. I've also seen a couple reviews complaining about price, you get what you pay for. No chain restaurant has this quality of food. If you are looking for cheap seafood, go to captain ds. What a find! We were traveling from Oklahoma to Florida and halfway there we stopped in the town of Jasper Alabama. Got our room and pulled up handy Yelp for some guidance on where to eat. After pulling up a few rated restaurants, we all agreed on Bayou. Put it in the gps and off we went, and drove right by it! Who would have thought a restaurant was in a gas station. After another vote in the car we went in, haha. It was not by any means fancy but after looking at the fresh seafood at the sushi bar we sat down and were greeted by a staff that made us feel welcome. We ordered the spicy tuna roll, kids fried oyster and fried shrimp and flounder. The sides were fries, salad, coleslaw, fried pickles and miso soup. Here is the breakdown, nailed the pickles, slaw and fries. Salad is salad, and after I used extra miso from our spicy tuna roll plate it was delicious. Now the dinner, oysters cooked to perfection, crispy outside and creamy inside. The spicy tuna roll, ehh, it came out puréed which was unexpected. With It came sushimi tuna and salmon. Yes it was delicious and sweet. The fried shrimp was on point as was the flounder. We were surprised to find such a great place in a hidden place. Service was good very attentive but as for the food the apps were good calamari was a must. My husband got the dragon roll it was 10/10 so savory and delicious along with the eel nigiri. My only complaints was the spicy tuna roll & miso soup were not my favorite. I would pick any roll that doesn't involve the spicy tuna. Miso soup tasted bland and watered down. Would not recommend.
