The service is always great and they check back often to see if we are in need of anything. We usually sit in the side corner since there's 5 of us so it's usually pretty quiet. It came with miso soup and a small salad with ginger carrot dressing. My wife ordered teriyaki shrimp and chicken and my daughter ordered to chicken teriyaki bento box. Both came with a miso soup and a small salad with ginger carrot dressing. The Bento box included a California roll and was served with white rice instead of fried rice. Stopped in for lunch while I was having my tires replaced at Discount Tires next door. I was not disappointed. The presentation was excellent! The salmon sashimi was generous and had a wonderful, smooth mouthful, with a mild flavor. The tuna sashimi was not my favorite, but not bad. I asked for my tuna roll as a hand roll instead. I wish I'd asked for a spicy tuna hand roll to vary up the flavor, but that is for next time. The ginger salad was very good with freshly grated ginger. The aroma complemented the green tea. All of this went well with my favorite, mackerel nigiri sushi (not pictured). My mouth is watering just remembering. I am planning on coming back for lunch when I'm in the area. The food at Toki is an Augusta staple- always good. The service needs to be improved, though. Our waitress was borderline awful. She had an AirPod in the whole time, barely brought us refills, got our food wrong, and messed up our checks so badly (even after asking us to order by ticket pairings). My friends and I work as waitresses. We understand that Saturday nights can be hard, busy, stressful, etc. but there is no excuse for this type of service. Toki in Evans is the best of the Toki locations in the CSRA. Their kitchen has the freshest tastes and best plate presentation. What's more, the service is attentive and satisfactory. On this occasion, I ordered the avocado salad which I had never had before. Not knowing what to expect, and not seeing a photo of it, I ordered without inquiring. I was so pleasantly surprised with the presentation, flavors, and taste. It was delicious! The avocado is sliced and laid over a bed of lettuce with a vinegar based sauce. Truly superb! I also ordered kani salad, gyoza, and cucumber avocado rolls which were all above expectations. The entree, vegetable udon, was quite good and light, not heavy, with crisp veggies. Went this week for dinner. Had not been in a while and wanted to give them another chance. Service was attentive but poor. The soup and salads came out before the appetizers, even though we ordered apps 15 minute before ordering dinners. Then came the main dishes, then the appetizers immediately after. So now almost all the food is on the table, half getting cold while we tried to eat it. Then as we were winding down now comes the sushi rolls and then then final appetizer which she had forgotten along with the second round of drinks that we never got. In one of the sushi rolls, the veggie were old discoloured prepackaged salads. WTF? Inedible. The other rolls looked like a kindergartener had made them. I came here when I was in town for Father's Day and I'm so glad we visited. I will preface this review by saying I didn't get the sushi. I did get the miso soup and it was tasty, but then again, you can't really mess up miso soup. I did partake in the hibachi and it was some of the best I've had. I am so particular about my sushi chef's, as I believe the best ones have wrinkles on their hands. Well of course I looked over and saw 2 young saplings and thought, uh oh, they are probably new to this, but I'll give it a try. I tried the Crazy Crab Roll and Super Spider Roll. For starters, I had the Salt and pepper calamari rings. They were crispy and full of flavor. Once my rolls arrived, a little edge had worn off and I was ready to savor the flavor of what was supposed to be one of most popular rolls suggested by others on Yelp. But when I tell you it took everything in me not to check my blood type afterwards to see if I was now CC type...soooooo much cream cheese on top. I assume it was once warm...or maybe not. But imo, that much cream cheese belongs on Red Velvet Cake, Carrot Cake, etc. I ate about 4 rolls and then scraped the other ones off to make sure my cholesterol levels didn't spike. I then moved on to the Spider Rolls. Although very big pieces or maybe not rolled as tight, they were flavorful. I did feel like I had to stretch my jaw bones in order to fit one piece in my mouth. GEEZ. My server was pleasant and my Arnold Palmer was delicious. When I return, I'll have to try the hibachi dishes. read more

This is a little hidden gem in Evans. Don't let the appearance of the shopping center fool you, it's actually quite nice inside. Very relaxing vibe and all of the staff were super sweet and helpful. Before I get into the food I'll just mention I ordered our food to go at the restaurant. The order was a shrimp bento box which comes with a salad, soup, and a California roll plus the veggies shrimp and rice of your typical bento box, a shrimp tempura roll and an additional California roll. The sushi was all on point in flavor! It may not look that pretty in the pics, but I promise you they were delicious. The bento box left a lot to be desired. It was 96 percent rice with semi seasoned shrimp. The salad was a literal lettuce ball and nothing else, so not a salad in my opinion. It could've at least had the shredded carrots or radishes or anything. The soup is the standard hibachi soup so it's good, nothing impressive. However, those tempura vegetable were perfection. No sauce needed to enjoy those things. I highly recommend some sushi and tempura veggies from here! I'm a little skeptical for the moment on the hibachi/bento here, but I'm more than willing to go back and eat there to see if maybe it's a better experience. read more

This is first time having sushi since moving to Augusta 10 days ago. I have to say it was really good. I sat at the bar being that I was on my weekly self-date sushi night. I had Takara plum wine, a house salad with ginger dressing, and the crazy crab roll. Also, the sushi chef was kind enough to provide me with a unique sample. It was quite delicious. The service was great too. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my dining experience. I have a few more rolls I'd like to try so I'll be back soon. I should mention they also serve hibachi however I didn't order any. They don't cook it in front of you. They also have a few dessert options. The sushi menu is not very extensive however they have a great variety, even having a few cooked sushi options. There's something's for all sushi lovers. There is ample parking in the shopping center. The restaurant isn't very big but it wasn't overcrowded. A couple of weeks ago, my youth group and I wanted to go eat at Toki. We were a party of 16 with no reservation, so we were ready for a long wait and was fine with it. When we told the hostess how many people we had, she reacted in a shocked manner. It was fine & understandable, so I didn't really pay attention to it, but one of our youth kids commented on her attitude towards us. Another lady walked up to us and confirmed that we had a party of 16 so I said yes. After that, she rolled her eyes and scoffed at me. One of the other leaders noticed it and let me know that he was uncomfortable with eating here with the kids from our youth group. This was excellent hibachi. I had the Teriyaki chicken and it was awesome!! I love how they give you a lot of chicken and a lot of veggies. I had the California roll as well and it was fresh and extremely tasty. They don't really have a huge parking lot so parking could be tough if it's a busy day for the surrounding stores. My wife and I have enjoyed eating at Toki's on several occasions. However, on our last visit for dinner on August 19, 2022. I witnessed who I presumed was the manager or possibly owner help clear an empty table. After he had cleared the dishes he came back and very meticulously picked up undisturbed sauces that were in uncovered "to go" cups. He very carefully took them back to the kitchen area which was in plain view of the dining area and set them down on a table. Another person came up and put lids on those cups and took them to the area where "to go" orders had been placed. They were sending out unused sauces that had been sitting on a table where people had been eating! I called it to his attention by asking, "why are y'all sending out those used sauces with to go orders?" He said something unintelligible and went and took them back to the kitchen but I didn't see him throw them away. I'm sure he put them back when we left. I would be very leary of eating here from now on. I know costs are up, but maybe take only one sauce to the table at a time and make the customer ask for more if they need it. read more
