The meal started with splitting the churro carpaccio which absolutely melted in your mouth! It was so light and flavorful that we knew it could only get better and did. Food is cool but from a business aspect there's like 30 seats and they give you a hassle everytime to place a to go order. I called to place a to go order... called and "pressed 2 for to go" just to be told you have to sit in the bar to order to go. Who does that. Then they don't serve tea,like huh? My friend invited me to go try Fukuro and I was super excited. We went on a weeknight and they were not super busy. Service was good the server was attentive. My friend wanted to try the sake we got the larger bottle for the table to share. It comes with a very cool dispenser which keeps the sake cold. Kuno was the complimentary sidekick, like the comic relief in a sushi-themed buddy movie. Together, they could easily host Drunk History: Tokyo Edition. The sushi? INSANE. The "Turo" had me questioning my life choices up to this point. I ordered multiple turo samplers because moderation clearly isn't part of the vibe here. Every bite was like a mic drop from the ocean. Fukuro is the pinnacle of sushi in Augusta. We've made reservations twice coming here and there is usually availability, but we've walked in before as well with low wait times. The interior decoration is modern with dim lighting. We have ordered several dishes coming here over several months, of note the Wagyu bowl is to die for: the meat is tender and delicious, the egg is scrambled in the hot bowl in front of you, and the fried rice it comes with is very well seasoned. My personal favorite menu item. My wife always gets the sushi platter, and it is about as close to omakase quality sushi you can get in the area. The fish is very fresh and the rice is perfectly seasoned. This is the freshest fish I've tasted outside of seaside restaurants. The short rib is good, but for the price I'd rather go to a legitimate Korean restaurant for something better. The deserts are good too, my wife quite loves them, but they are small and they don't fit my palate well as they are not as sweet. Bonus points for the fact that it is a Resy restaurant, so anyone with a Platinum could come here once a quarter for an excellent meal for minimal out of pocket cost. The selection of sushi was amazing and they also had sort of a sad buffet for you know people with other tastes overall the experience was great. The wait staff was wonderful. They were very helpful. I came here through the elder sister of this restaurant, Koi on Washington Rd of which I enjoy as well. However Fukuro is on a level that sets them above any Japanese cuisine restaurant in this area. I must admit that I'm a bit biased. I'm a sushi/sashimi only diner. I don't care for hibachi at all and Fukuro is a sushi/sashimi only restaurant. This visit we had the following: King Philly roll, the Triangle, Blue fin tuna tartare, Sweet Shrimp and the others I don't remember but check the photos. We also had their sake that is served in this really interesting vessel. Please see the video attached. Pros: I love the ambience. No clanging of spatulas from hibachi chefs and no "Happy Birthday" songs every 15 minutes. On the inside is a low-lighting and intimate setting. You can sit outside if you prefer. No paper napkins or disposable utensils - except the wooden chopsticks. The staff and owner are very friendly, attentive and seem to remember me and my family every time we attend either restaurant. I'm not a whiskey drinker but they have an entire section of top shelf whiskey available. The sushi is top-grade. IMO, this is the best place in the CSRA to get sushi/sashimi. Cons: I don't care for their house soy sauce. It has a smokey flavor to it and it tastes sweet. I'm a savory type of diner so this doesn't do it for me. Instead, I just request the regular mellow soy sauce for dipping. I wish they had filtered water. The water they serve out of their pitchers taste like tap and takes away from the wonderful, fresh taste of the sushi/sashimi they serve. Highly recommend this restaurant. This place is awesome, we will definitely be back! I came in starving and left pleasantly full. Everything we ate was so fresh and delicious! Our server Jessica was super attentive, she explained a lot of the popular dishes and gave great descriptions that helped us decide what to get since it was our first time. She timed all of our food perfectly and offered to take pictures of us at the end of the night since it was my birthday. From the drinks to the dessert everything was excellent. To drink we had an espresso drink and a vodka fruit drink with matcha (can't remember the names right now but they were so good)! For food we had the Chutoro Carpaccio to start, Hunger Game's sushi roll, Asian Short Ribs and Matcha Tiramisu for dessert. All of this was split between my husband and myself and we were both full at the end. The vibes were nice too! Dim lighting and music playing but not too loud where you can't talk. For 3 couples we order multiple appetizers. from the toro tasting to the tuna global, to the scallop carpaccio. let's start with that,so fresh and amazing,it truly melted in our mouth and the sauce was a perfect balance. New sushi spot in Evans. Went Saturday evening around 7pm. No reservation so was offered to sit at the bar or outside. So highly recommend making reservations on the weekend. The hostess took us to our table and placed our utensils nicely on our napkins with Lil plates and chop sticks on a fancy stand. Our waitress I think her name of Cherrie was fantastic very pleasant and accommodating. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and answered our questions confidently. Everything we ate was delicious! This was a very good restaurant for a girls night out! The sushi tasted very fresh, and the ambiance was very upscale. We definitely need more restaurants like this in Columbia county! I don't love tempura rolls, so I chose the two that didn't have tempura elements, and they were very good, but I do wish there were a few more non tempura rolls to choose from. It is expensive, so be prepared to spend $150+ a person for food and a cocktail. My biggest complaint was they cannot split appetizers on the checks, and we were not told that until they brought the check, so I got stuck paying for a $20 appetizer on my own which was a little frustrating. Omg !! I can't tell you how delicious Fukuro Bar&Sushi is !!! Trey Partridge and I went there for a date night and they did not disappoint. We started with the Salmon sampler so delicious. I could have eaten 10 plates of this. Then we each picked a roll, Trey picked Crab Dancin and I got the Kickin Philly both again really delicious. Especially with their in house made soy sauce, the flavor was phenomenal. Then one of the servers Cindy recommended the Truffle Miso with Salmon Sando and the truffle miso sauce under the salmon I could have drank. We sat at the bar and shout out to Kam for great service and great recommendations as well as the Owner Lee, he was very informative and great at giving recommendations. A lovely place that I feel like is out of character for Augusta. I'm glad Augusta is finally trying to improve the dining scene. I truly enjoy the ambiance, each time I've been here I've had to make a reservation since it's been truly full. I would say that the decor and lighting are what steal the show. The food outside of the appetizers and a few entrees is generally sushi and sashimi which is done well and fresh. I would honestly skipped the cooked stuff because I tried the salmon sando and it was OK. The other cooked stuff like the lobster puffer for valentine's week just felt like a expensive spring roll. Of the appetizers I really enjoy the yellowtail bliss and the bird's nest. I like the raw seafood. The plating is very fun and exciting. I think my favorite roll is the Hunger games or something like that. The one with the blue fin tuna that actually has raw fish. I did not like the soy paper roll that they said was popular since I felt that the rice to fish ratio was off and there was too much rice. I would say, if you just want nigiri and sashimi that would elevate your experience, they try a bit too hard to make simple cooked things fancy to cater to people who don't eat raw fish, and I understand why they do it. Service is friendly and I think they are trying to get wait staff that is high end. They refill drinks adequately and they are polite. In my experience more elevated wait staff understand the dishes and can give more detail but I don't mind the simpler service since I would prefer fewer interactions anyway. Also the drink selection seems massive. I don't drink alcohol but my friends that do were very impressed. Definitely a great place for a nice celebration if you're craving sushi. read more

Took the time to help make selections, explain the dishes etc. very helpful. And the inside looks really good. Great for a date. We had the tuna gyuza appetizers and it was absolutely delicious. Sitting on guacamole. Crispy fried with great flavor on the inside. I can recall the other name of the one we had but it was also very flavorful and fresh. We had several different types of sushi and just shared. Crab dancin, kamakazie, tuna on fire, hunger games, and the sunlit. All were amazing. But I'll focus on the sunlit only because it was different with the mango. Very skeptical. But it went great with the seafood. Absolutely delicious. The ambiance is business casual to upscale and has tables for small or large parties a cool seating area for smaller parties and bar seating. The menu is small but mighty with flavor. The puffer roll fried appetizer, it was a unique taste in flavor profile and juicy. We ordered 3 rolls to share. First, the soy sauce is house made and is delicious. Next the fish flown in from Japan was so fresh with not a ton of rice as filler. They add just a bit of different sauces that add depth but just a hint to tease your palate! We had the deconstructed black sesame cheesecake w/ mango ice cream & honey dew melon, just, wow! I would have never put those together but it was very refreshing and not too sweet. The sake presentation was really cool. The service by Jessica was great. She explained everything very well and we enjoyed her recommendations. We spoke with one of the owners, Cindy, and enjoyed hearing her tell us about the fish and she was happy to answer all of our questions. Great food, makes up for awkward location and signage. My partner and I have been there 3-4 times, each time ordering sushi so I can't speak to anything else. The sushi creations are innovative and delicious. BUT...I have one MAJOR complaint. The woman who served us (the owner, I think) wears the most overbearing perfume. Her scent arrives before she does. It's offputting. The cloud of sweet, sickening scented air lingers long after she walks away. She's so nice and professional, but this is almost enough to keep us from returning. I hope she sees this and refrains from wearing it. So..5 stars but PLEASE lose the perfume! read more
