This is one of my favorite sushi spots in Augusta! They offer a wide variety of sushi and something for everyone. My favorite sushi are the ones that are flash fried on the outside. The fish here is always very fresh and even though the place doesn't look like much please give them a try! Very delicious. This time i got their party platter sushi ($30) and it's very worth it because you get 6 rolls which means each roll is only $5 and it's more than enough for two or even three people! The older man, who I'm guessing is the owner was so incredibly rude, asking us "what's taking so long" as we were looking over the menu, and then folk he' follows up with "you need to hurry up, we're closing soon." Giving it a 4, I stuck with the California roll since this was my first visit. Excellent sticky rice and the Wasabi is great. I hate wimpy wasabi and theirs had nice little burn. Wished they did not use ginormous styrofoam cups but I am sure there are people that love them. The reason I dinged the stars besides having only tried one item is the look. It looks dirty and in all honesty could probably use a really good scrubbing. Paint needs to be redone and some poor grandma does not get the clean minimalist decor as it was intended. Nobody seems to understand you can't use home decor items in a commercial space it will always look cheap and tacky. I will be back another day and hopefully the Habachi chicken is good read more

Well this is one of those places that if I was going out to eat with someone, I would change my mind if this was the spot they chose. Definitely would only eat here if I was only ordering the shrimp tempura appetizers and a drink. The shrimp tempura appetizers were amazing and delicious, not sure what that white sauce was supposed to be but it smelt like and had the consistency of heated up mayo ...The tempura part was right on point and the shrimp not over fried and cooked so that's a huge bonus. It would have been nice though if they didn't batter and cover most of the tail...but hey what can you do right?!?!?‍‍ The steak and scallop hibachi with fried rice and zucchini was a definite miss! A total failure in my opinion, and since this is my review my opinion counts and matters most ...the steak although cooked somewhat nicely was ruined by the overcooked and burned scallops ...the rice was more like steamed rice colored brown rather than fried rice, the zucchini was scorched and had the burnt flavor as well, and limp and lifeless like they were definitely overcooked or had been cooked and steamed over to heat them up.. I can't go back for a long time for the hibachi to give my tastebuds time to heal and forgive me for that flop of a meal. But again the shrimp tempura was great so that's a partial bonus read more

I ordered: $6-Shrimp tempura roll --requested it flash fried $8- Dynamite roll--flash fried Both came with cucumber, seaweed and wasabi. The sauce is on the side for take out and the food was hot for my 10 minute drive home. $7 Hibachi chicken with veggies and fried rice (mayo sauce to go). I was so satisfied from the sushi i only ate a quarter- full and felt food and have leftovers. Looking forward to eat the hibachi later- they give mayo and teriyaki sauce on the side so it was great. This place always smells so GOOD! Having been raised with traditional sit down sushi bars, I would have normally turned on my heels and kept driving once I saw the fast food type atmosphere inside. I'm so glad I didn't though. Oh my gosh did I have egg on my face after finishing my first volcano roll. First off, the ratio of fish and sauce to rice is perfect. I've been around to a couple other sushi places that kind of fell apart in execution and I think I've found my new "it" place. The avocado was sliced thin, was fresh and green, and was plentiful as well. I love how there is an open window in the kitchen so you could peer into the hibachi cooking area. The smell of grilled meats always tears me apart. "Do I do sushi or hibachi? Sushi or hibachi?" Each time I've stuck with the sushi but one of these days, a rogue desire for fried rice and grilled chicken will grab me. I've always had the best service here and the lady behind the grill and sushi bar is always so sweet and accommodating. read more

Popped into kinki sushi because of the convenient location. While the staff was friendly, they weren't overly accommodating or welcoming. It's a smaller space than it appears from the outside. Thumbs up they do serve Pepsi products. That having been said I got a flat diet Pepsi! Thumbs down. I tried the edamame, California roll, spicy tuna roll and the hibachi chicken with fried rice. Everything looked pretty good- presentation was fine. However, everything also really lacked flavor. Basically how I feel about this experience is, been there done that. read more

This is a great little sushi stop! I have yet to be disappointed by the size or quality of any rolls I've ordered here - everything always tastes so fresh and delicious. They have the usual fare (spicy shrimp, spicy tuna, california roll, etc.) and a variety of specialty rolls that are must-trys. I'm a huge fan of the love star roll in particular - a salmon roll with salmon roe and another variety of roe on top (name of it slips my mind right now). The gyoza are some of the best i've tried, and their fried rolls are great for when you're in the mood for something heavier. The staff is always friendly and accommodating (been here a few times with some picky eaters), but I have to knock them a bit on their space. There's not a ton of seating inside, and the kitchen area is a little small - they can get swamped and backed up at lunch sometimes. Would be nice to see them expand some of their seating to the space on the sidewalk outside. read more

Yum! We stopped in today and really enjoyed our meal. They seemed to have a fair number of vegetarian options, including a vegetarian sushi roll & several good appetizer/sides. We got 2 vegetarian rolls (one flash fried) and 2 avocado rolls. They were ready in about 10 minutes. All 4 were very tasty! The woman working made some suggestions for vegetarian things to order next time we stopped in, so that was very helpful and friendly of her to be so considerate to us and our needs. One thing I will say is that 2 of our rolls came with sauce that tasted suspiciously like a fish sauce, so obviously we wouldn't eat that. Thankfully it was on the side and not dumped onto the roll.
