My cousin has been telling me about this spot in Freehold for a few weeks now and finally my girlfriend and I had dinner here with him and it was fantastic! Everything we ordered were from the daily specials - Salmon Avocado Misiti's Sauce (spectacular!), Toro Taku Rice (AMAZING!), and Fluke Uzuzukuri Poazu (delicious!) were my favorites but everything we ordered was top quality! We arrived as soon as they opened at 5pm on a Sunday so we got there before the rush and yes there is typically a rush from what I was told. The owner spent a lot of time talking with us as she knows my cousin who has become a regular and she was absolutely charming. I'm looking forward to going back here and becoming a regular myself.

The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and incredibly tender. The portion was so generous that I couldn't even finish it. If I had to make one small suggestion, it would be to offer the option to substitute the soup or salad for a couple of spring rolls. Other than that, I genuinely can't find a single flaw. Delicious food, great value, and definitely worth the drive. I'll be back! I've been coming here for 15/20 years now

Then they said actually it was fine, we could sit there because another table would open up for the reservation. We sat down, ordered drinks, got settled. A few minutes later a different waitress came over and told us we had to get up because the table was reserved and "she didn't know." No real apology. No manager. Just "you need to move." At that point we just left. Mistakes happen. But asking customers to get up after they're already seated because of your poor internal communication is bad service. Doing it with zero ownership or effort to make it right makes it worse. The food here is fine. It's not so incredible that it makes up for being treated like an inconvenience. Now that they're getting busier, it feels like customer service has slipped even more from their previously just acceptable level. Plenty of other sushi spots around that don't make you get up mid-meal. We won't be back.

I started with the spicy tuna tartare served on fried rice crisps. Perfect portion size, well-balanced seasoning, and just the right level of heat -- easily a 5/5 appetizer. For my entrée, I ordered the A5 beef ramen (not entirely sure of the official menu name, as I couldn't find it listed online). The bowl itself was intentionally simple, which worked in its favor. The broth was extremely rich and flavorful, and with a small addition of chili oil it was spot on. The noodles were clearly fresh and had excellent texture. My only real criticism was the amount of beef, which felt a bit light given the price point. My total for a solo lunch came to about $40 before tip. Overall, I'd rate the experience a 4/5. It's a great spot for an occasional treat, though probably not a regular go-to at that price. If I return, I'd likely explore some of the more budget-friendly ramen options on the menu.

That sadly was the best part of the night. We ordered; 8 AYCE and 2 ordered ala carte. My wife's vegetarian and doesn't eat much and my mom doesn't eat raw sushi and ordered the teriyaki shrimp. 1. The service is horrible. We waited 20mins to get our first appetizers. The waitress just dropped off plates and didn't explain what they were. My mom noticed the table next to us ordered what she got and a few minutes later, the waitress asked if she received her entree, which she replied no, and then she went to the table next to us and grabbed their plate and brought it back to the kitchen. We assume they reheated and replated the dish because it was way overcooked. 2. Long wait. Some items didn't arrived after over an hour and we asked about them multiple times. As we were ordering our 2nd round, we just reordered them. We got our waters refilled often but they never checked in to see if we were receiving our food or if we wanted to order more. Like they didn't ask one time. 3. Lost in translation. My parents are immigrants, so I am pretty understanding but the waitress didn't understand much of what I was saying and when I asked for extra ginger while pointing at it she looked very confused. I also asked her what a few items were when she brought them, and she didn't respond. 4. 10% coupon: don't bother trying to use the 10% off coupon from their own website. When we asked for the check, I showed her the coupon and she looked confused like I made it up and I let her know it was from their website under "coupons". She went to the back to ask about it and returned to say it was for online orders only. I mentioned that the coupon doesn't have any fine print except it can't be used with any other offers, and she didn't try to help at all which was frustrating. At the end of the day, it was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. The food quality was ok except for my mom getting a reheated meal. But the service was terrible. It sucks to have to wait so long for food and things coming out randomly and my son and wife waiting over an hour for their items while others are pretty much done. Save yourself the aggravation and try something else.

Dishes were never cleared. No tipping expected after the 12% service charge fee was added. Interesting. Senior discount not applied. $28 lunch. I left wondering if the dinner menu is different. English not spoken here or everyone is goofing and pretending. The hot pot broth is a mystery. No utensils were provided to cook with the hot pot. Food selection was not replenished in the entire time we were there. Some appeared that it might have been holding since lunchtime. Temperature of the food once removed from under the heating lamps was room temperature. Soups near the Hibachi section had film over the top which shows it has sat untouched for a while. One of the 3 was not at temperature and may have been unplugged. No attendees to the food stations or cleaning. The Hibachi station remained unmanned for most of the stay and had a scarce supply of foods anyway; no sauces in sight for the chef. The flavor of the food I did have was extremely bland, dry and I have had better from many strip mall take out locations. I can continue to write more but if you've read this far, I'm sure you're getting my point. They also have the nerve to add a 12% SERVICE CHARGE to your bill. The service is nothing short of people walking around with an empty look on their faces. Avoid this place and go elsewhere or order take out instead.
