Got some food to go here again and they absolutely crushed it! They have my new favorite wings. The flavor in each bite was ridiculously savory. Decided to try their dim sum this time. Har gow was plump with shrimp and I think ginger. The shu mai were large and had a delicious filling that left me wanting more. The BBQ pork fried rice was fluffy and they gave us a large portion. My friend and I shared it all and agreed they have not disappointed and is probably our new go to Chinese local spot. I already want more of their wings! Mmm! read more

I tried Tokyo Express under the new management for the first time, and am happy that I did. I took out the lunch chicken combo ($9.95 + $1.50 chow main upgrade =$11.50) and a full order of BBQ fried rice. ($11.95) Good food. No surprise. It felt like good ol' Chinese food. No authentic hidden foreign spices. Good sweetness and saltiness, not too greasy. WOW! A LOT OF FOOD! The takeout containers were packed with food. Two adults ate the two dishes for two meals. GREAT PRICE! In addition, they are having the 10% off promotion. Can't beat the value! The lady at the counter was nice, the food came out quickly while I waited. I would call in ahead next time. The only con was that the chicken pieces had a skin on them in the chicken lunch. I just don't like chicken skin so much. Stopped by on a Wednesday evening. First time here and we had a great experience. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Always checking on us to see if we needed anything. The food was yummy! My favorite: the walnut shrimp and cream cheese wontons. I'd definitely order those again. But they have an extensive menu so I'll be back to try something different. There's plenty of parking and lots of tables and chairs to sit inside. We dined in but it looked like they get a lot of to go / pick up orders. read more

When the sushi was brought to me, I did my best to hide my distain. I have never seen sushi more dried out and old than what was on the tray in front of me. I ate one piece, and bagged up the rest. Chinese food is great but I am always worried about the very hot food coming in contact with styrofoam which is cancer causing. Amazing food quality, GREAT (I cant emphasize this enough) prices, and convenient location. I came in today for the first time and was immediately greeted by the warmest smiles. The super helpful and friendly staff quickly sat me down and offered me water and fried wonton strips. I was shocked to see how diverse the menus was and had a hard time deciding. I decided on a roll for myself and an orange chicken platter for my daughter that I took to go. The staff was super helpful with giving me reheating tips to regain the highest quality of food. So I came back to Toyko Express Thursday the 16th of October or yesturday and the food was still great and amazing. The people are always freindly as well. I got the inside out roll and the fuji roll large filling and delicious. The texture was on point and the ingredients tasted so fresh. Yes the establishment is still cash only and open limited Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. but it is amazing to stop by and try it once and at least experienced it . most the time I take my food to go because they do have the capability to eat inside but it can be sort of warm some days and it's not really the type of establishment I would see myself just sitting down to eat inside of there's nothing wrong with the place it's just very small for my liking again that is just my opinion. File under excellent customer service: Yesterday I went to get some sushi to go. The cashier noticed I arrived on a motorcycle and asked if I wanted a box to transport my food. She showed me the box and it was clearly too large to fit in my side bag. The sushi chef heard this and immediately made a bee line for the front door. She was eyeballing my bike to make sure my food was packaged with my size limitation in mind. Success! And I didn't have to find out how well sushi survives being bungee corded onto the back of a Harley in the hot sun. Good food too! read more

A super friendly place with excellent food. They have nice vegetarian choices. the gentleman at the counter cheerfully answered all my questions about their menu as I am a Japanese food newbie. Portion size is good and the prices are very reasonable ( seem to be pre-covid prices). I got their Veggie roll, California roll, Veggie Tempura and Miso Soup. The food tasted fresh and delicious. It was very nicely packed in a cardboard box and the owner carried the box to my car as my hands were occupied. They take credit cards now. If you are looking for ambiance, go somewhere else. This is a Japanese sushi/teriyaki diner - with diner chairs and diner tables and diner napkin holders - but no decorative diner frills. Tables, chairs, utensils. Not even anything on the walls. That said, the vegetable tempura plate I had was delicious and included the tempura and sauce, a cup of sticky white rice, cucumber salad, and miso soup. Everything was delicious. Getting out of their for a total sum (including diet soda) for $6.43 - even better. Nice portion...some folks may want a box. Nicely hot. Plated nicely. My only real complaint was that the tempura sauce was too cold when it first arrived, and the stark cold to the hot tempura was rather jolting. The drink options are limited to water or canned soda. The menu has several sushi and teriyaki options. Good options for vegetarians (like me), too. The place is only open for lunch (11am - 3pm), Monday through Thursday. Most importantly: It is CASH ONLY!!! No debit/credit cards or checks only. Luckily, I had some cash on me because did not see the sign until I was almost finished eating. Parking is good.
