First time I've been to Tokyo since it opened and it will not be my last. Upon being seated the waiter promptly took our order. We ordered chicken pad, spring rolls, and sushi. The pad thai included lots of protein and the spice level was just right; and the spring rolls just came out of the fryer. Our waiter checked in regularly to ensure everything was to our liking. The care this place takes in ensuring your experience is enjoyable goes far beyond typical restaurants. Came in to town to visit my in laws for Christmas, was craving some sushi and luckily they were open on Christmas Eve! The staff was so friendly and attentive, and everything was super clean! My husband and I ordered the rainbow roll and the chicken Katsu, we both thought they tasted great. So in love with this place and can't wait to come back a few more times before we leave! read more

This small restaurant in a former KFC drive thru in Fairborn is a hidden gem. We've been there many times for lunch since the place opened in 2017. There is an extensive menu with items from Japanese, Thai, Mongolian, Chinese and other Asian cuisines. All the food is fresh and perfectly prepared. Prices are quite reasonable. I always have several different hot appetizers and a maki roll or two. My partner has enjoyed the curries, soups, sushi and bento box lunches. The owner always seems to be there making sure everything is just so. Service is excellent, friendly and fast. We are usually offered free miso soup and a special appetizer. read more

In town from Phoenix, AZ, to see family. I was not very optimistic about sushi or even Thai food in this small town. Cant tell you how incredibly impressed I was with the food. There were eight of us and we ordered everything from tempura to sushi to thai dishes and more. All excellent! The owner and staff are also very friendly and gracious. Highly recomend! So I came on the day I was leaving OH. Keith was my personal driver while I was in OH for like a month and a half and this is his favorite place. He surprised me for lunch. I see why he chose this place. I got the panang curry. It was SO good, let me tell you. I could taste the green and red bell peppers in it. It was so flavorful. I loved it! I ask got the Thai tea with boba and a sushi roll as well. I think I have a picture somewhere. I'll have to find it. It was really good but there was a part of it I didn't like. I don't know what it's called, the roll or the part of the roll I didn't like. But I can tell this place is good. I'd love to try more sushi! I will be back if I get the chance to come back to OH again. Apparently it used to be called Thai pearl or something and the food used to be boring but this place is owned by someone different and it's really good. The flavors are so good! This is my favorite sushi in the area. The staff always takes the time to say hello and tell us what special items they have. Tonight we put our choices in the hands of the chef and were not disappointed. We had everything from white tuna on a truffle oil soy sauce to fresh conch. One of the plates I was really surprised about was the mackerel as I never would have ordered it turned out to be amazing with fresh ginger and green onions on the top thinly sliced. Place looks a little run down but don't let that keep you away. Seems to be kept pretty clean and the staff has been friendly and attentive both times I've been in so far. Once to dine in, once for carry out. Both times the food came in a timely fashion. Both times the food has been delicious and when we dined in it was presented nicely as well. I'm usually more worried about how it tastes but I do like a good presentation. In any case, we will definitely be back and I would totally recommend this place. They have tons of sushi rolls, Thai and Japanese dishes and even some desserts. They also have hibachi though it's not prepared at the table, in kitchen only. read more

The outside of the building looks pretty dated; inside isn't much better. The problem with these kind of Asian restaurants is that they offer too wide of a variety of cuisines, but nothing is really that good. My wife had the chicken katsu; pretty bland, but it was a large portion. I had the tom yum gai and that was pretty bland too. I didn't even eat the chicken in it because it had zero flavor. Recommend either finding a restaurant that specializes in either Japanese or Thai cuisine, because the same restaurant making both usually doesn't work out. I've lived in this neighborhood for 16 years. I think they've been here a few. This was the first time I've tried them. Ordered at 1PM for a 2PM pick-up. Amazing flavor. I got the beef and noodles, carryout at the drive-through. It's not just beef and noodles, but shallots, asparagus, snow peas, bock choy?, sliced shiitake, and carrots, with that wonderful seared beef glaze reclaimed into the stir fry. Delicious. The sweet chili sauce accompanying the spring rolls was super, too. I usually drown everything Asian with soy sauce, but this didn't need a drop. Perfectly clean flavors. I wouldn't change a thing. My daughter and I had lunch recently at Tokyo and we were very impressed! So happy to have a (more than) decent place for sushi and Thai in Fairborn. We ordered Bento Boxes for lunch - very impressed with how FRESH the Californa Rolls were and the shrimp shumai was to die for! We went back the NEXT DAY to get sushi rolls for dinner. The squid salad was super tasty and the rolls... we had a Dancing Dinosaur, California Roll, and an Angel Roll. They didn't last 5 minutes on the table! Their Miso is pretty darn awesome as well. I'm a picky person when it comes to Miso. I'm hooked. We had a wonderful time chatting with Li Li - the service was great! The restaurant itself is clean and has a great atmosphere. I was so sad when Saya closed (after declining quality) as it was the only decent sushi in Fairborn for a while. I can honestly say that, in my opinion, this is ranked in my top 3 Sushi joints in the Dayton/Fairborn area! read more

Excellent find! We had the Red Curry with Shrimp and Steak Hibachi and both were easily the best we have had in Dayton. Very good ingredients and presentation too. I like my curry fairly hot but a 5 (10 is the hottest) may have been a little high for me. Staff was very attentive and nice and the place had a very pleasant atmosphere. Don't let the the exterior fool you (it needs some work) as the interior decor and seating are very nice. Highly recommend trying a meal here. read more

Ordered carry out from here, and everything was delicious. The side salad had a house ginger dressing that was the perfect amount of sweet. The yellow curry and fried rice were both really good. Additionally, we had the "wild tiger" and "spicy tuna sandwich" rolls which were both outstanding. The spicy tuna sandwich roll was arguably the best roll I've ever had! Today was lamenting the lack of good Chinese food in the Miami Valley...I've been told "try this one, try that one" but after some amazing Chinese food elsewhere, our opinion will be different than others with limited experience outside the area, we are spoiled. Anyway I really wanted some Chinese food and passed this very local business by many times. I would have to drive a ways for Chinese but today, saw this menu and decided to at least get some oriental food and not very familiar with Japanese or Thai. I can't eat extremely hot food and absolutely hate seafood. I chose the Thai coconut soup and not terrible but not wonderful but then I have limited experience with this soup...I know I've had it once and it knocked my socks off. Ok, I ordered the hibachi chicken. The chicken was all white, large pieces and really not very much flavor except that it was in a thin sauce that was pretty tasty. I usually order white rice but this time since Fried rice came with it I went for it. The rice didn't have much of anything in it except rice but maybe that's Japanese style and that's fine. it had a brown color and was the best fried rice I ever had...I would have made a meal out of it if there had been more although it was a generous portion...I just loved it with it's subtle but delicious flavor. I'm diabetic and could have ate myself into a diabetic coma with that rice. I gave Tokyo a 3 because the chicken was plain, the soup was just ok, and I hate seafood...there were two big shrimp among my chicken pieces (shudder). Would be a bonus for some folks and my dog thought she had died and went to heaven, lol. They have a lot of sushi on the menu so that may be why they have a lot of 5 star ratings. Bottom line is that I would consider going back and trying something different...I always like to give a restaurant a 2nd chance. Wish I could do a higher rating. I was there around 4 and their only business was takeout. Atmosphere was ok and looked clean. I saw their seafood (again, shudder) in a little glass case and it looked bright and fresh. read more
