I love to order from here when I get the craving for Japanese food. The Katsu curry is pretty solid, the last few times I've noticed their curry is on the sweeter side compared to Coco or from Shin Shen guemi. I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening after 6:30pm. It wasn't too busy, but I noticed there were customers picking up their orders. There's a decent amount of seating (as long as you're not in a large group), so I decided to dine in. The ambiance is very cozy and comfortable. I ordered a combo plate of Chicken Teriyaki and Beef Teriyaki. It was reasonably cheap (below $14 including tip) for a combo plate with steamed rice, sliced oranges and blanched bean sprouts. Within 5 minutes, my order was ready. The owner was very cordial that she brought my order to my table. The Chicken Teriyaki was perfectly grilled, glazed, tender and the sauce was not too salty unlike other chain restaurants. The beef was thinly sliced and coated with the same teriyaki glaze. However, the beef's texture was fragile that it could have been more tender and meatier. The bean sprouts were just right and perfectly seasoned in sesame oil. Tokyo Fast Food is a great spot for quick authentic Japanese food fixings. I'll definitely return to try their sushi, tempura and other teriyaki dishes. There is a huge menu, the food is authentic and ran by Japanese staff, there are simple old school Japanese dishes such as inari sushi, kappa maki, tekka maki. They have ramen, different bento box plates, amongst other street foods. I greatly appreciate that they have a SHIO(salt) based ramen with no soy sauce , and they always accommodate to my allergy restrictions. I also appreciate how they have SABA (makerel), a favorite grilled fish in Japan. I found out about Tokyo fast food while doing Uber eats, I had ordered the chicken Katsu with gravy and I also ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl my first time. The second time I ordered on Uber eats as well however, I ordered an atrocious amount of food for me and my friends and there were absolutely no complaints from salmon, chicken, steak Teriyaki bowls... To sushi to delicious Japanese carbonated drinks. I truly believe that the teriyaki bowls and the chicken Katsu are the real winners here however they had some entrees I'd never seen before and I'm very well-versed in Japanese food happens to be one of my favorite cuisines. The day before yesterday I was on my way home from SantaMonica, driving down Santa Monica Blvd. when I spotted Tokyo fast food in a little strip mall to my left... I don't want to say that I almost caused a collision but I most certainly flipped a B as fast as I could and ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl as well as sushi (they have a great combo) for dinner later that night. I usually get to go but they have a reward card that they will stamp for you and at the 10th stamp, you get a free chicken bowl. Everything I have tried here has been solid. The sushi is tasty and fresh and won't break your bank. The teriyaki sauce on the meats is perfectly sweet and salty. We had the following dishes: * AJI Fry Mix - This is Spanish mackerel and hamburger cutlet. This was served with shredded cabbage, orange slices and tonkatsu sauce. I ordered a side of steamed rice. I like the hamburger cutlet than the Spanish mackerel. This dish was just ok. * Beef Bowl - This was a really good beef bowl! A true hidden gem, Tokyo Fast Food serves incredibly affordable Japanese comfort food in a little homey spot in a random strip mall on Santa Monica Boulevard. I often come here for lunch, and the front cashier lady is always so sweet and friendly. Their sit down portion seems straight out of the 90's, but it's always been immaculately clean and comfortable. Wish their takeout wasn't in mostly styrofoam, but I definitely can't complain at these prices. (Like lunch for less than $10 that isn't a major chain fast food place is astonishing in this area!) The Tokyo Special was a very good deal and included chicken teriyaki, tempura, CA roll, salad, rice, and choice of egg roll, miso soup, or green tea Ice cream. There was plenty to eat. I usually prefer beef teriyaki beef over chicken teriyaki, but this chicken teriyaki stood out.
