    This chickens was unacceptable!
    R. E.

I usually get excellent quality food here at Tokyo Joe's. Today was a different story. I've purchased a build your bowl, and the chicken had the consistency as if it was from a day or more so old. It was a pick-up order. I called the store and spoke with the manager, and they stated that the chicken was from a different carrier. That answer did not seem logical, but I took it for face value. Bottom line, no matter what, it is the responsibility that the food is of the utmost quality. It is highly unacceptable to serve less than par for the chicken or other food. I hope in the future, Tokyo's Joe needs to be more mindful of what type of quality food they serve.

This was my first visit to Tokyo Joe's - in fact, this was my first visit to any Japanese or other Asian themed restaurant of this nature. This is a fast casual restaurant where you go to the counter and order and then pick-up your food and find a table (no table service). The menu includes sushi (which I did not try) and a variety of bowls (which I did try). When ordering a bowl, you pick your protein, the noodles, the sauce and the various ingredients you want included in your bowl. There are also a number of "sort of standard" bowls that you can order if you're not interested in customizing your own bowl. All of the ingredients appeared to be very fresh and the staff was very patient and helpful. I was there with a family group of 4 and all of us enjoyed our bowls very much. I definitely will try this type of restaurant again -- and soon.

So many things to choose from!

I don't think Tokyo Joe's gets enough credit for their commitment to quality food! (Check out the picture of the sign to see what I mean!) quality meats, tons of veggies and so many options to mix and match so it never gets boring. If you only have time for a quick stop and you're looking for decently healthy food (on par with Chipotle) I would definitely recommend stoping at Tokyo Joe's!!

For a fast food joint, I love Tokyo Joe's because you can have a very tasty, very affordable, and very healthy lunch or dinner bowl! This particular location is one of the best in the area located at Denver West. Huge, open and spacious with plenty of seating for the lunch crowd. My Boulder Veggie Bowl was PERFECT. Yum.

Came to this location to try out the zucchini noodles "zoodles" and YUM!! I loved it as a change from the typical rice. First time trying Tokyo Joe's sushi as well and it was pretty good. Nothing spectacular but still tasty. Think I'll be sticking to stir fries from now on though!

Definitely get the spicyaki sauce, it's so good! Great price and portions while also being a nice healthier option.

Great, healthy food - excellent customer service. I keep the poke bowl in my regular rotation of yummy fast casual takeout meals.

I live in…read more5Points/RiNo but will absolutely travel here for the best Cantonese Chinese food, even when I can get it via DoorDash :) it's located at 38th & Kipling with easy parking, and the dining area has about 15-20 tables. The portions are so generous, and the food is made fresh & cooked perfectly! The honey chicken is crispy but lightly sauced - and the sriracha beef dish has a yummy brown gravy with veggies too. I love the curry pineapple rice with shrimp! The rice is high quality-- and most importantly, nothing is too salty! In fact, some could call the dishes a little bland, but I'd rather add salt & spicy sauces after than have it too much. The leftovers are delicious!! I hope they open a restaurant in Uptown, Cap Hill or RiNo bc we need amazing Chinese food that won't break the bank!!

Cooked and seasoned perfectly, so flavorful, with a nice kick on a bed of salad to balance out the friedness. The Chinese dishes were good, nice big portion size and they don't skimp on the protein which we really appreciate. Great value. The pad thai was very sweet. I asked for some chili oil to balance it out and then it had a better flavor profile. If you're looking for very mild Thai dishes this might be a good place for you, but I prefer some amount of spice at least. Will be back to try some other things and the boba drinks. And that calamari was SO GOOD Nice to have this place in the neighborhood.

Our bellies were full, satisfied, and we couldn't have asked for a better dinner. Walked in for dinner around 7:30pm on a weeknight. It was decently busy. We waited at the hostess stand. We waited and waited. A server walked by without acknowledging us. Another person walked by without acknowledging us. And yet another person walked by and guess what...didn't acknowledge us. Do we smell bad? Is this normal service around here? Who ignores people inside a restaurant? Imagine if someone walked into your house and wasn't greeted. Wouldn't that be odd? Admittedly, this is such a pet peeve of mine and my tolerance for it is zero. And because of this, your mind starts to wander. Oh, is it because they got a nod from Michelin? Are we not cool enough to be here? Are they a pretentious restaurant? Is my money not good enough? To be honest, I'm surprised we didn't walk out. We waited five full minutes until one of the three aforementioned employees came up to us. So the vibes were off for the entire meal, but as someone who can take a step back, the food was freaking phenomenal. SHUI JIAO - BEIJING STYLE DUMPLINGS ($15) // pork & cabbage boiled dumplings, house dumpling sauce. Dumpling sauce was what I imagine crack would taste like. These were the perfect starter. KKANPUNGGI - KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN ($23) // fried chicken, spicy garlic gochujang sauce served with thai jasmine rice and chinese smashed cucumber salad. Crunchy and crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. This was better than some places that specialize in KFC. No notes! MI XAO TOI - VIETNAMESE GARLIC NOODLE ($23) // shrimp, egg noodles, broccoli, vietnamese garlic butter sauce. My wife's dish, I only took a bite. She loved it and did her happy dance the whole time. My only criticism was it didn't really taste like Asian food. To be honest, it kind of tasted like an Italian noodle dish I'd make at home. Either way, happy wife happy life. They add a 6% kitchen fee to every bill. So yeah, there's that. Will we come back? Yes, because the food is absolutely delicious. It kind of annoys me how good it is considering the poor service we received. I'm not one to completely trash a place, I can look past my own internal bias. But damnit, can y'all just be more hospitable next time?

Starting with the better items, the sesame shrimp was decent. The breading was a little unusual, but it had good flavor. Still, nothing that really stood out. The crab rangoons were also just okay. They were labeled as crabmeat cheese rangoon's, but after eating a few, it was apparent that there was no crab at all, just cheese, which was pretty disappointing. They were honestly some of the worst I have tried. The wonton soup was not great either. It did not taste like wonton soup I have had before and was also sort of bland. That said, it was still edible. Now for the bigger issues. The chicken with snow peas was extremely bland, like no seasoning was added at all. The chicken itself was watery and tasted very cheap, which made the whole dish pretty unappetizing. The beef lo mein had the same problem. I have never had lo mein this flavorless before. The noodles and beef both lacked any real taste and just did not come together well. The last thing I will say is that it is overpriced for what you get. The portion sizes are solid, but the flavor and quality do not match the price at all. I am not someone who usually criticizes restaurants or even leaves reviews, but this was a major letdown. I just want to help others avoid spending their hard earned money on food that does not live up to expectations.
