This place is awesome, a lot of retro games and for $10 you get in and have unlimited play. The food is surprisingly pretty good, I always get the mini tacos and they have a huge variety of beer selections. The place is super clean and has a very good retro vibe to it. They have Japanese cabs for Street Fighter 2: Super Turbo, Street Fighter 3: 3rd strike, and King of Fighters; Its one of the main reasons why I come back here! If there is any problems with any machine, call an attendant and they are willing to fix it on the spot. Staff is super nice and welcoming! I haven't had the chance to try the food but the overall atmosphere is very chill and cool. You pay a cover charge but then all the games are "free" which I thought was pretty cool because they have such a variety of old and new arcade games. The alcohol selection was pretty decent. I'm so happy a friend brought me here. As someone who has never even touched a video game, I still had an absolute blast! A very minimal cover fee for unlimited games. This was a local place close by to where I stayed at very close to the college as well. This was my first time here it was a very relax environment and family oriented. You would pay 10.00 to get in and you would be able to play games all day. They also have tournament for street fighter and have all the child good games from pacman to rampage. Perfect place to hang out on a Saturday night! I came with 2 friends and we stayed there for a solid 4 hours! It was a good use of $10! The games were old school which was a really nice change in pace and it wasn't as I thought it's be on a Saturday night! There were always available games and people didn't hog the games like I thought they would considering it's free play! The food was also super affordable! I thought it'd be movie theatre expensive but it was good for the price! I love that they had sitting areas both outside and inside! First of all, and I cannot stress this point enough, I was blown away by the arcade games. Seriously, row after row of great memories. This is an interactive museum in many ways. Incredible selection of vintage arcade game, many I forgot I used to love to play. And charging $10 a head to reunite with many of my best times at Malibu and Showbiz as a kid, is worth every penny. However...the bar is a huge disappointment. Barely a selection at all. No standards like Jack Daniels, etc. and then they have the audacity to serve mixed drinks in flimsy, plastic "cocktail" cups: the kind you would fill with punch on Sunday school. And don't even think about food. Pretend there is no food. I will go back to play the games, maybe on a Saturday afternoon or something like that. Hubby and I came with a Groupon and WOW! This place is amazing! There a almost all the classic arcade games we remembered, except Phoenix and Kung Fu. There were a lot of great pinball machines as well. We redeemed our drink tickets for mixed drinks which were great. It's a nice touch that there are shelves or cup holders between games to hold your drink. They have free ice water which is a nice touch. There is happy hour 3-6 p.m. at least during the week. They have a great selection of beers and ciders, some of which are discounted during said happy hour. Since we stayed open to close which was 3-11 on a Wednesday, we did try pizza and sandwiches. They were high quality and reasonably priced. They started the day with 80's music but as it got later the selection went to 90's music instead. All in all, it was a wonderful time! Love their concept, and love that they have a bar! Fun place too take the kids during the day and hang out with your friends at night. I was a little upset that the bartender working the last time I visited didn't see me and 2 others, and served 2-3 people who walked up to the bar after us before asking if we needed anything. Approximately 108 arcade machines and 12 pinball machines make up the eclectic mix of arcade gaming nostalgia at Free Play Arlington. While still feeling (and smelling) just like Free Play Richardson, the new Arlington location is noticeably more comfortable, larger, cleaner, and has rad custom painted murals. Among the arcade staples like Joust, Pac Man and Galaga are truly odd and rare games you likely never even played when they were originally released. The machines are lovingly maintained and work great, notably in their original configurations (one machine plays one game, etc ((with the exception of NEO GEO lulz)) ) . All in all, this is absolutely worth the $10 cover for however much time you decide to spend here, and another thrust of momentum to the national resurgence of video arcades. Game on! read more

Super cool concept. Really wish we had some in Oklahoma. You pay to get in and then all the games are free until closing time. You can also buy food and drinks at the snack bar and restrooms are available. Great place for introverts to hang out. Staff were all very nice. Lots of fun games, even for 2 players. The only cons were, a few of the machines were run down with broken start buttons and such, and the host seemed like her paycheck depended on us buying alcoholic beverages. Would go back again though. Much more fun than seeing a movie or the regular boring stuff. We stayed about 2 hours. read more

We paid half price for getting there before 4pm. The kids loved it. The game variety is great for young and old alike. You are sure to find something you will love. The staff was great. The bar is fully stocked with craft beers as well as various beers on tap. They also have cocktail/mixed drinks if beer isn't your thing. I would recommend any of their pressed sandwiches. They are a bit pricey in comparison to subway but they are much better and you are paying for ambiance. Free Wi-Fi. Cool music playing. Not only that, lots of their decisions are made based not on making the most money, but which games would be the most fun. Pinball is expensive to maintain, yet Arlington has a boatload of them. This place is awesome! I'm into this hobby and it was surprising how many games they had...and mostly all were working great (it's near impossible to keep every game going without flaw)! They had some rare and high end games too. Good selection of pins and most even had upgrades and mods to them. I went in here in a Thursday night and played for 3 hours. Not too crowded. Maybe a few dozen people. I did not eat or drink, although they have a bar so I should've had a beer. Just played games so I cannot comment on that aspect. What I can say is that the hostess at the front door was less than enthused to be there. She seemed totally bored when taking my money and explaining their gig. When I left she didn't say a word so I had to say "thank you" and "goodnight". If management is listening, work with this girl to change her attitude. Otherwise great place. If you follow their Facebook page they are clearly very passionate about retro games and what they do. And for $10.80 for all-day admission you really can't go wrong. Admission comes with in and out privileges, so you can play for awhile, go across the street to Twisted Root and grab a burger and come back - or stay for food and drink at Free Play. The games are older nostalgic games but still so much fun. The bathrooms are clean and the bartenders are great. The food was delicious and the alcohol selection plentiful. I loved this place.
