The owner Ashley is so very sweet! We had just found this location, growing up around the area but never knew it was over here! Great spot for sure, you really do eat the best foods at hole in the restaurant locations. The food was great, I got a salmon bowl and he got the Kobe beef bowl. Definitely well sized for a single person portion, it's delicious! The place is decorated very cutely, and cozy. Not too many decors or anything crazy. As for it being four stars is mainly just because it would be a great reminder to notify your customers if they do need boxes, which are located by the front you are able to grab them. Since it was just the two of them, it was hard to get her when needed as she got side tracked but it happens to everyone!

Have you ever been to Seattle and come away from it deeply missing the Teriyaki you had there? If so, THIS IS THE WAY. Tokyo Teriyaki is a diamond in the rough restaurant with a delicious Chicken Teriyaki bowl that rivals the best I've had in Seattle joints. The charbroiled earthiness of the meat, mixed with the sweet umami sauce, paired with flavorful rice and delectable vegetables that taste clean and of high quality. I'm picky about brassicas, as I can often taste a kind of funk with them, and the vegetables served here were high-quality, slightly blanched, still with a crunch that felt refreshing when paired with the rest of the bowl's ingredients. The restaurant was very busy in spite of it being close to closing, with lots of activity for take-out as well as dining in, leaving me a sense this is a community favorite within the Northglenn neighborhood. Having traveled about an hour to try this out, that was a good sign, as was the extra teriyaki sauce readily available at each table. There were some really artfully done wall hangings as well, that really tied the place together. It felt cozy, and I'll make the trip again just to have their bowl! Really hit the spot I've missed for years, and so glad I found this awesome restaurant. Give this place a try! You will not be disappointed.

Lunch special with teriyaki chicken and gyoza.

The lunch special of teriyaki chicken and gyoza is delicious and the portion size is generous. The chicken has a savory charred flavor and the vegetables are crisp, fresh, and tender. There is extra teriyaki sauce on the table as well. The service is prompt and friendly. The space is cozy and well kept. You can tell there is pride and care taken in ownership and the food. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

I want feeling great today and skipped dinner last night, so I was craving I healthy. I first came here 20 plus years ago after moving to the area. I don't remember why I stopped coming, but I'm glad I came today. (I think it might have been because I could find more affordable lunch specials elsewhere.) Today I ordered the chicken and beef lunch special. The portions were generous and all the food were healthy, lean, fresh and tasty! The new twist to order and pay before being seated at a table was odd. As other reviews noted, this casual eatery was spotless and comfortable. *Minus one star because I think the vegetables could be upgraded, imo.. Maybe some snow peas or squash. The cabbage and carrots were good, but they are cheap and hardly indulgent. Thanks for still being here!

He ordered several sushi rolls and nigiri (including tuna and salmon items). By the middle of the night he was experiencing intense stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, and dizziness. We ended up in the ER this morning because he was so dehydrated and weak. The doctor confirmed it was consistent with bacterial food poisoning, likely from improperly handled raw fish or cross-contamination. This is not something to take lightly. Food poisoning from sushi can be dangerous, especially for anyone with a compromised immune system, pregnant, elderly, or young children. If you value your health, I strongly recommend avoiding this place until they clean up their food safety practices. We will never return and are considering reporting this to the local health department. Please, learn from our mistake and steer clear. There are plenty of other sushi restaurants with better hygiene standards. Your family's health is not worth the risk.

Maybe it was a rough day but our server was annoyed. They have a decent menu and their lunch specials are okay and reasonably priced. However the sushi was pretty mid. Each roll we ordered was wrapped in large amounts of rice with not a lot of fish. It's still quite expensive for what you get especially if you want unagi. Can't say we'll be back since we prefer Yonsei which is nearby but I can see why it's popular. This location does seem different than the one in Cherry Creek. The one in cherry creek seems like a higher quality selection of fish so possibly it's based on location.

This is attached to the mall so don't come here Thinking you're going to have sushi somewhere that feels authentic because it definitely feels like a mall restaurant. But if you want some sushi I do recommend it. I judge sushi mainly based on two things - obviously the quality of the fish or seafood, but also the rice. Presentation can be whatever since I don't eat the presentation. Either way, Between my party of four we had 11 different rolls and an appetizer and no complaints there with the fish, So that was great. Really was not impressed with the rice though. Just could not taste fresh, really was not sticky. Couple of rolls that my friends had not wrapped in seaweed fell apart pretty easily. Also, minimal ginger and wasabi given with your rolls. So that could be a pet peeve of mine. An $18 glass of Japanese whiskey and that was fantastic. I got the last of the bottle and it was perfect with a heavy pour. Service was great here. Our waitress was attentive and checked in on us often anytime she walked in the general area. I'd love to come back and try it again And hopefully give a better score.

I ordered the Red Dragon roll, the champion sashimi, and the Denver roll to go via online ordering through their website. The ordering process was not ideal for a first time customer because none of the items had descriptions so I was looking between their website and then the ordering platform. Once you order it gives you a time frame but I never got another notice when my order was actually ready which wasn't ideal. My order was correct and packaged very pretty for takeout. The Red Dragon roll was just okay. In my opinion, the tuna on top of it is sliced very thin, so it's not much of a show stopper especially for what they consider to be a special roll. It had a lot of rice. It was fine but I don't think I'd order it again because it wasn't memorable in my opinion. The champion sashimi was kinda spicy which I didn't expect but it was delicious. I would order more of this or something similar to this preparation next time. The Denver roll was refreshing. It's wrapped in cucumber and it comes with a special sauce. I liked it. It was pretty filling too. I could see myself ordering that again if I'm craving a lighter option. I'd order the champion sashimi again and try something new next time for my second option.

Either the broths lacked flavor, the meats weren't fresh enough, or the overall experience just didn't live up to the hype. At one point I genuinely thought maybe hotpot in Colorado just wasn't for me. But my friends, who absolutely LOVE this place and come here all the time, basically forced me to give it a try, and wow, I'm so glad they did. From the first bite, I could immediately tell this place was different. The broth was rich, flavorful, and comforting in a way that makes you want to keep eating even after you're already full. Everything tasted fresh, high quality, and actually well-prepared. The meats, veggies, noodles, and sides all complemented each other perfectly, and the whole experience just felt cozy and satisfying. Another thing that really stood out to me was the service. Every server I've interacted with here has been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They genuinely make the experience even better because the atmosphere feels warm and inviting from the moment you walk in. You can tell they care about making customers feel comfortable and taken care of. Now it's literally all I think about whenever the weather starts getting cool outside. Like the second there's even a slight chill in the air, this place immediately comes to mind. It's become one of those comfort meals that you randomly crave late at night because nothing else compares. The kind of food that warms you up completely and makes you leave feeling happy and full. Honestly, this place changed my opinion on hotpot in Colorado completely. If you've been disappointed by other hotpot spots around here like I was, PLEASE give this one a chance because it is on a completely different level.
