Quick, friendly, fresh and all in all amazing service. This was our second time coming here I don't know why it took us so long to come back once more. Shame on us. The food has amazing flavor and the vegetables are super fresh. We had the classic #1 Teriyaki Chicken that comes with white rice and fresh steamed vegetables. We also had the Cream Cheese Wontons are crispy yet warm on the inside with a burst of flavor. Highly recommend. They have a great amount of indoor seating and it is very well kept and clean. The owner Ashley is so very sweet! We had just found this location, growing up around the area but never knew it was over here! Great spot for sure, you really do eat the best foods at hole in the restaurant locations. The food was great, I got a salmon bowl and he got the Kobe beef bowl. Definitely well sized for a single person portion, it's delicious! The place is decorated very cutely, and cozy. Not too many decors or anything crazy. As for it being four stars is mainly just because it would be a great reminder to notify your customers if they do need boxes, which are located by the front you are able to grab them. Since it was just the two of them, it was hard to get her when needed as she got side tracked but it happens to everyone! read more

Vacation to visit my sister. She'd never had Japanese food before. We chose this place. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Right off, we were greeted like royalty. The nice lady said her name was Youngsun. She took our order and served it with the brightest smile and friendliest demeanor. The food was amazing and we loved every part of it. Tokyo Teriyaki is a diamond in the rough restaurant with a delicious Chicken Teriyaki bowl that rivals the best I've had in Seattle joints. The charbroiled earthiness of the meat, mixed with the sweet umami sauce, paired with flavorful rice and delectable vegetables that taste clean and of high quality. I'm picky about brassicas, as I can often taste a kind of funk with them, and the vegetables served here were high-quality, slightly blanched, still with a crunch that felt refreshing when paired with the rest of the bowl's ingredients. The restaurant was very busy in spite of it being close to closing, with lots of activity for take-out as well as dining in, leaving me a sense this is a community favorite within the Northglenn neighborhood. Having traveled about an hour to try this out, that was a good sign, as was the extra teriyaki sauce readily available at each table. There were some really artfully done wall hangings as well, that really tied the place together. It felt cozy, and I'll make the trip again just to have their bowl! I was pleasantly surprised with Tokyo Teriyaki. The restaurant is fairly small and a bit dated, so if you're looking for atmosphere this probably won't be the place. But everything was very clean. We stopped in around 1:30ish on a Saturday afternoon and there were quite a few tables. We seated ourselves and the waitress came over quickly to get our drink order. Menu has different variations of chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki. The menu item that caught my eye was the Sukiyaki but I was informed by our waitress that this took 20-25 minutes to prepare. We needed to get on with our day so I ordered the chicken and vegetable bowl and he ordered the Tokyo bowl. Our dishes arrived quickly and were nice and hot. So I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken and Steak Combo Plate that comes with a side of rice and steamed vegetable medley of primarily Cabbage with a few sliced Carrots and Broccoli. I ordered an additional side of (what turns out to be primarily a side of steamed Cabbage) and an order of Udon Soup. Sue and Sam provided exceptional service and explained their extensive menu and made "in house" Teriyaki & Spicy Sauces that make elevate their meats with a Tantalizing Terrific Teriyaki Temple of Taste! The Udon noodles were cooked perfect in a tasty broth with green onion and fish cake. Bought my son a $25.00 gift certificate as his reward for taking me here! Tables are a little small and decor is minimal. The first sign for me that this Japanese restaurant would be so-so was there were no chopsticks. I ordered the gyoza to start and the chicken and beef combination. The gyoza is deep fried. I like mine fried crisp on the bottom and then steamed to finish them off. Their version was deep fried. The flavor was average. The chicken and beef combination was just okay. The most disappointing thing was the food was not remotely hot. It was barely warm. I like my food to come out of the kitchen hot...like it's freshly cooked. The vegetables were very over-cooked. The cabbage, carrots, broccoli had zero crunch whatsoever. Ordered beef bowl with vegetables and fried rice. Bowl is good however the rice has not been fried at all. Carrots and peas are just mixed in with regular rice. Also, If your planning on dining in, expect any to go orders to get taken care of before they start making yours.
