Came here for lunch because I was staying at the hotel. The BLTA was very delicious and satisfying. My fiancé had the burger, which was delicious he said. Total disaster. Staying at hotel decided I didn't want to go out I was exhausted after a 5 hour drive. Took 15 minutes for anyone to greet me once seated. After that my salmon entree came out by itself no sides. Totally weird. Bit into salmon and bottom was totally burned. Guy next to me sat for 15 minutes before being greeted too. All I kept hearing tonight was sorry all over the restaurant. Don't understand why wait staff was so Aweful when restaurant was only a quarter full. read more

Okay came here for Thanksgiving dinner and breakfast today. Both times i can say that their chefs are inexperienced. For Thanksgiving my medium rare prime rib was medium well. For breakfast today my over medium eggs came desecrated after a fifteen minute wait. Sent them back....fifteen Minutes later i get under easy eggs, raw bacon, and warm bread. I will say this much, it is an egg not a rocket ship. Fire the people in the kitchen that are calling themselves chefs. They are capable of cooking at a buffet at Disneyland and that's it. Ech.... What a horrible horrible restaurant. After all this waiting and leaving hungry they couldn't even comp me my daughters meal. They took my 15 dollars in room vouchers and said we will just call it even.... I was so irate i had to leave because i didn't want my child to witness what was about to transpire. I left hungry and had no vouchers. Thanks but no thanks. I an going to go to the Sheraton and ask for money off my final bill. read more

Enjoyed a wonderful meal. Chef Dennis came to our table to see how we were! Sea Bass was crisp on the outside, moist inside. Kale side dish was seasoned to perfection. Rice was rich with fried/grilled corn, really enhanced the dish. I would of licked the plate but...after all, there were aother people around!! I don't usually use Yelp but I know a lot of folks do, so...go and enjoy a special meal. Last but not least...Bread Pudding for dessert....YUM! read more

We have been there today on Sunday just before 2:00pm. The man on the front didn't seem to be happy (branch hours are til 2), but he guided us to restaurant floor anyway. The service was good, but slower considering the number of the guests there (I think just another table was occupied and probably a little bit for pool side people). The food was pretty good. We ordered Calamari Salad, Vegetable Napoleon and Kid's Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries. However, I think the waiter took a wrong order and delivered Calamari Caponada instead. I was so hungry and didn't aware until the end, the dishes were very good, so it's ok. They serve Mighty Leaf Tea and it's good. We also ordered Triple Chocolate Cake for desert and it's very good though it came with whip cream instead of ice cream scoop despite of menu description. Overall, the foods are good, but the service was par (considering wrong order taking and the item description is just different. Also slower side of speed). It might be because we used Restaurant.com gift certificate, but it is unprofessional if so. Anyway, the food is good and the price is reasonable for the portion. I would give 4 star if the service was better than what we've got today. read more

We're locals and we were really hoping for a better dining experience. But, I'm sad to say avoid breakfast! Horrible service. We had to wait 10 mins at the hostess station to be greeted by a waiter who handed us our menus and said sit anywhere. I had to make sure he marked my Open Table Reservation off so that we wouldn't be notified as a no show. At that point we should've left. While waiting for service. We watched the hostess dissapear and the phone ring unanswered. We also watched another couple be seated only to leave when after 15 mins they only had water and no waiter. Once the food finally arrived after atleast 45 mins maybe longer and it wasn't very busy! My husbands eggs Benedict weren't runny poached yolks they were hard. My tortilla scramble was also over done and served luke warm obviously sitting under a heat lamp. Potatoes were also barely warm. Even my Mimosa was served warm. There are plenty of great spots locally for breakfast. We won't be back. read more

Easter Brunch was very pleasant. They had a banquet room set up with the buffet and it was quite nice. We were a party of 7 and were seated immediately. Open Table reservations were perfectly executed. The tables were decorated tastefully for Easter. The buffet table was set up nicely and flowed well. The variety of food for the buffet was very good and everything tasted good. The only thing that was a little disapointing was that our table was so large it was a little difficult to hold a conversation with everyone. Otherwise, very nicely done. read more

After a long night of travel and arrival to our destination at this Sheridan hotel, the next morning we headed to the house restaurant. We ended up there about 10ish and it was a calm and relaxing time. Not many people and service was quick and friendly. We had a simple breakfast- eggs, toast, and hash browns, you know, the normal American b-fast. Nothing exceptional but it was good :) Simple and to the point. I like how they have the breakfast on the back a-la-cart style. The nicest part was at the end, the waitress gave us to-go cups for my hubby's coffee and water for me. Very sweet! read more

How can you not give this place five stars? After a long day of birdwatching, hiking, and a little wine tasting, we showered and made it to the restaurant in time for the early-bird special -- a THREE course meal WITH wine for 20 bucks a person! Started off with a lovely organic baby greens salad. Husband's chicken breast was perfectly cooked; I enjoyed the black pepper spice in the homestyle meatloaf. Lemon tart and cheesecake were two yummy desserts. And being this was Sonoma, the house wine is Rodney Strong. Good wine for the price. The atmosphere was fine. The service was slow but very pleasant. The food was decent but nothing special. I had a fish with pistachio crust that sounded better on the menu then it tasted. My brother ordered the steak dinner which was almost $40 and cut a third of it off that was pure fat. It's ridiculous to be handed such a low quality cut when charged that much! For a party of 5 with only entrees and fountain drinks, no alcohol, appetizers, salads or desserts the bill was almost $200. I won't be returning with such a quality to price disparity. read more

If I could give it less than one star I would, My husband and I decided to take my 95 year old grandmother for a special Thanksgiving meal. We made the wrong choice with this restaurant. We called 2 weeks early to make a reservation and made sure they could accommodate a wheelchair. Upon our arrival we were told it would be a short wait for our table since we had a wheelchair. We were seated over 30 minutes late, then had to wait and wait for someone to take our order. When our waiter finally arrived to take our order he sat down in our booth. Again we had to a long wait before our salads arrived, we were given bread plates but none ever arrived for the whole meal. We waited and waited again for our entrees, 2 of us had the turkey with fixings and the other had prime rib, the white meat turkey was tough and dry, the mashed potatoes had no salt and everything was cold. The prime rib was ordered rare and wasn't even pink, the brussel sprouts were under cooked and the carrot mashed potatoes were lumpy and flavorless. We were left with our dirty entree plates in front of us while we were blinded by the setting sun because the restaurant only has blinds on some of the windows. This was a horrible meal and was over priced. A special day was completely ruined. WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. read more

Why should anyone that offers what appears to be very nice crusty European bread actually give you bread that is so stale! This is just such an easy thing to correct and the first impression a diner has on a restaurant that I just don't understand how this could be served. My waiter, very nice man but obviously not comfortable being a server - he had what appeared to be 3 or 4 tables but I was being totally ignored. I finally made my presence known by gawking around until I got his attention and then he was quite attentive... for a bit.... I ordered the wine tasting. Two 2 ounce pours for $5. Great deal, great wine. I again had to track down the waiter to get a second glass of the Cab (I literally had to walk around until I found him). I ordered one of the two wines thinking it would be similar in price to every other wine on the menu. When I received my bill, I was charged $17!!!!! for a 6 oz pour. Unbelievable when every other wine on the menu was $11 or less. I feel so ripped off. I had the small plate smoked salmon. Very good and lots of salmon which satisfied me for a meal. Which is a good thing because the menu is very limited so not many choices. Between the waiter and the wine price, I won't be eating here if I stay in this hotel again. read more

So many negative reviews that I'm not certain are warranted. This is not Barn Diva or anything cutting edge but it's nice food in a low-key atmosphere. Honestly, I enjoyed it more than my previous night's dinner at Pub Republic. Calamari with fennel was nice and crispy - not oily or soggy, kale salad with spiced dressing, candied pecans, chevre, and dried cranberries was light and refreshing, New York strip was charbroiled and very flavorful - paired well with roasted fingerlings, grilled asparagus and finished with a very nice au jus. While the sweet pea rav's were subtle, the flavors intensified with every bite - the mingling of mint & fennel and fresh pea sprouts was lovely. This is the fourth time I've eaten here as I typically stay at the Sheraton while in town. The staff is always pleasant and I've never had a bad meal. Would I book it for a special occasion? Maybe not but I will visit when I stay at The Sheraton. I enjoy the view looking out at the pool and the marina and boats beyond. It's solid and nice but nothing extraordinary and the menu is limited. They try to locally source when possible. read more

Great food, nice views of the Marina and Petaluma River, nice staff, very comfortable bar! Very comfortable dining at a really good value. Also, a great place to visit on Saturday and Sunday mornings after a walk through Schollenberger Park (w/views of the Petaluma River and tons of wildlife!). The Sheraton (Tolay Restaurant) even has its own entrance to the park from the Sheraton's parking lot. I also like going to Tolay's bar after hours for a nice frosty one or a glass of wine...tons of local, Sonoma County wines on their list. Tolay Restaurant & bar are must stops in Petaluma! read more

Had a fantastic breakfast and service here! We were greeted by Jack who was gracious and warm and got us seated and made us a fresh pot of decaf right away! He had us smiling even though the weather was really cold and grey and we were going to the beach. We had steak and eggs and Carolina, our server got the order exactly right, and I'm diabetic and had several special requests! She and Jack did a fantastic job, and also must mention the guys in the kitchen because our food was exquisite! We have stayed at the Sheraton in Petaluma for over 5 years , at least 7 to 8 times a year, usually for 6 to 8 nights ( as we have family there, lots of birthdays and holidays) we have always been treated wonderfully and our room is really nice, a great view and a wonderful staff that keeps everything perfect....We usually coffee and toast in our room about 6:30 am and then down to the dining room or the lounge for breakfast about 9:30am...the whole staff is very accommodating, everything is always perfect, great food and friendly staff....we have dinner there, sometimes with family sometimes just us, usually about 3 or 4 nights..the menu is one of the best around the food is always wonderful..deserts are to die for especially the bread putting (my favorite) the Executive Chef Danny Mai has one of the best menus and is always on hand to introduce himself to you...I would recommend. I made reservations online for Easter brunch. We've had a nice holiday breakfast here before. There was nothing on the reservation page about what we found when we arrived - a buffet only. Well, okay... I guess. We were seated in the big banquet room with many tables, but less than half were occupied. We waited - and waited - and waited, and finally flagged someone down who said he wasn't our waiter but he helped us with drinks. We flagged him down again after about 10 minutes and asked what the deal was for the day, menus or just buffet? Just buffet. Apparently our table had no waiter/waitress, but there were plenty of employees wandering around. We all got up for the buffet, and it was okay The sausage was cold. The cheeses were beginning to curl at the edges. Nothing special. We had to serve our own juices and coffee as well as food and it was a bit of a walk for my elderly mother. The second time someone got up when they got back the plates weren't cleared, so when we put them on a nearby table that got the attention of a waitress. I don't think she was really our waitress either. She and the previous waiter were very apologetic at least. When my mother asked her for coffee she forgot it. Apologies again. We were pretty much on our own the whole time. We had to flag someone down once again to get the check. We were pretty shocked that it was $49 per person, and not only that but they had added in the 18% gratuity for a party of 4. read more

We were pleasantly surprised when our last minute random stop at the sheraton hotel landed us in chef Danny Mai's restaurant. My husband's hamburger was "the best one he's every had". Filet was large and cooked perfectly. Breakfast was filling and delicious. We will come back just for the food. read more

Called to make a reservation for their Fathers Day Special. The hostess didn't know of any special and had to go ask. I made a reservation for 11am. We get their a few min early and let them know we are their 11am reservation. They look at their schedule and go set us without asking our names to confirm reservation. We get seated and handed Breakfast menus. I tell the waiter we are here for lunch. They tell us lunch is at 11am. I told them we made an 11am reservation and the hostest just sat us down. They brought us brunch menus and I again asked for the Fathers day special. Waiter didn't know anything about it and I had to tell him what it consisted of. They brought us our food only to forget my hubby's toast. Waiter never came back until we were done. Then brought us the check and barely gave us enough time to put the money in there when he was back to take it. Food was good was service sucked! Also, I expected with a name of TOLAY and the history of this name, that the restuarant would be decorated to this theme. Nothing fancy about this place, just a regular Hotel place to eat. read more

The first experience we had was about a year ago. We sat at table 25 for about 15 minutes. No coffee, No Waiter and of course No service. We left and headed out to the Two Niner Diner which is always dependable. Started hearing that Tolay had improved decided to give it a second chance. Ironically we were seated at table 25 again. Should have left right away. Service was extremely slow. The waiter neglected to ask if we would like coffee. We finally caught his attention, it took 10 additional minutes to serve us coffee. The breakfast crowd was small. about 5 tables being served. The omelet was small and the cheese had melted but it had been setting for awhile before it was served. The Petaluma breakfast was mediocre over priced at $13 a plate. The restaurant's atmosphere has a cafeteria feel to it. The staff seems to have a lack of direction. A lot of help was there but they seemed to be standing around not knowing what to do. Won't be back to many awesome restaurants in Petaluma to choose from. read more
