Great spot. We enjoyed the nice weather and sat outside. We had shepherd's pie, a sandwich and soup. Server was super friendly and helpful. I'd definitely come back.

We had a reservation and came here on Saturday for lunch. We were seated quickly outside on the shaded patio area- While it's not right on the river, it's right around the corner from the river. FOOD- For lunch my partner and I shared the fog lifter pizza that had pepperoni, spicy sausage, and bacon and a bbq salad. While the sausage was not in the least bit spicy, the pizza and the salad were the perfect combo to feed the both of us, where we were satisfied and ready to explore Petaluma after lunch without it being too heavy! The table shared the "finger-licking-good" roasted potatoes, but in my opinion, they were fine, nothing memorable in the same way the pizza and the salad were.

I met my friend in downtown Petaluma and tried Wild Goat Bistro for the first time. This is one of her favorite restaurants, as it's in walking distance from her home. Tucked into the Great Petaluma Mill with dining areas that wrap around the exterior as well as other rooms tucked inside, it inherits the vitality and charm of western Petaluma's historic district. Marina greeted us at the host stand and also turned out to be our server. Although we didn't see many other waitstaff or bussers during our visit, our service wasn't lacking. She checked on us and our plates were cleared away in a timely fashion. We started with the Polenta Fries, which had pesto to garnish them. I'm often careful about eating pesto since I have a customer-focused job which prompts me to avoid overindulging in garlic. (I know. So sad!) The pesto was quite mild, which might be a drawback for some, but I found it agreeable. My Sonoma Crunch Salad seemed like a fusion of southwest and Asian flavors. The portion was quite generous. My friend had their WGB Burger, which she loved so much she almost tried to eat it all in one sitting, but instead opted to take half home for the next day. But the highlight of the meal for me was the Ultimate Italian Lemon Cake, which Marina told me was her favorite. She described it as light, which it is - surprisingly so. The cake is delicate and the fillings aren't heavy either. Not as sugary as angel food cake. Really, I want to go back - specifically for dessert next time! So, as far as location and service, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The salad I had as well as the polenta fries were good, but didn't wow me. However, the menu has plenty of options for everyone in your family or group and a reasonable price point for a nice night out in Sonoma County. It definitely offers a local feel and Marina will take good care of you as well!

Cute restaurant inside the old Mill. There are two sides, smaller tables in the front and larger tables on the other side. I made reservations and glad I did as it got busy. My waitress was friendly and attentive. I started with the tomato cucumber gazpacho which was cool and refreshing. Next, I ordered The Pearl vegan pizza with gluten-free crust. It was very good, though took half home. Then I was bad and had their carrot cake, which was moist and flavorful.

Hosted by Petaluma friends. Very good, not gourmet. Ambiance: Outdoor patio with dogs very attractive. Tacos, Lamb Burger and chopped salad (Cobb like) all excellent. Good Arnold Palmer as well. Polenta fries good but not crisp and could've been hotter. Turkey burger, good not outstanding .Service a bit slow and we had to ask three times for Splenda. One dessert, 4 forks, fantastic.

Kale salad was delicious! And so was the fig and pig pizza! Service was fantastic The flavors and plating were impressive! Overall this was a top notch spot for lunch and I highly recommend it!!! Coconut cake was epic! Try some!!

Food was good. We got one of their pizzas, quinoa cakes, their salmon entree, their Brussel sprouts and the polenta fries. For dessert we got the coconut cake. In all, the food was enjoyable. I especially loved my pizza and the polenta fries. I think the Kung Pao Brussels were too salty for me. Or maybe just too much of the sauce. I loved the ambiance being outside. I don't remember there being heaters but I'm sure they exist on colder evenings. The service was attentive and friendly.

Absolutely exquisite! Pappardelle with braised duck.

Food was excellent and our server was attentive. My companion had a burger with blue cheese and bacon. I chose the Hippie Caesar salad. The dressing of cashews was delicious. The browned parsnip hemp "croutons" looked pretty, and were a creative take on bread croutons, but had an unusual texture especially since they were cold in a salad. Notes: The front door was propped open during a very cold evening--48 degrees outside, which made the dining room chilly. We were given the lunch menu at 430pm when we were let in when they opened. Also, several staff members were speaking to each other across the restaurant almost the entire time we were there, and their volume made it hard to relax or hear my companion very easily.

Cute restaurant with welcoming vibe. Prime location with street parking. Offers indoor and outdoor seating. Heaters available for the colder days. Nice menu! Everything we ordered were pretty good. 2 types of pizza and really enjoyed the Brussel sprouts. Will definitely come again.

Still as delicious as I remembered! So many things to choose from n all well prepared!!! Grateful for this great local spot

Lucky to get a late reservation on a cold, rainy NYE when many other restaurants were booked or closed before a show at the Mystic. Cosy and casual, savory nourishing pizzas paired with reasonably priced wines by the glass. Will definitely return.

    How is the parking situation?

Street parking is very hard to find and the parking lot across the street is for a different shopping center. But there is a large multilevel parking lot a block and a half away, and there's always available parking in there.

Do they have a kids menu?

We actually do have a kids menu. We have pizza, pasta, and grilled cheese for the kiddos. Have a great day!!

I just tried to access their website. I get the message, this site has been suspended. Anyone have any comments or news re: this?

    Hi! Their website works: https://wildgoatbistro.com

Do they have heaters for the outdoor seating?

Yes. The tents also offer protection

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Yes, I've seen dogs outside

Strawberry maritozzi: Of all of the pastries this was actually my last favorite. I felt like the bread was a bit dry and flavorless. The cream was good however and not too sweet like your typical American dessert. I think if they could some how use a different type of bun that isn't as dry, this would be amazing. 2. Caprese Sandwich (wrap): This was incredible. I really liked this sandwich. It was so flavorful and the balance of the pesto and chicken was amazing. Highly recommend. Very large and filling too. 3. Mushroom focaccia: Loved this! Focaccia was fluffy and a very generous amount of mushrooms on top. 4. Passion Fruit pasty: I LOVED this! It reminds me of being in hawaii again and reminded me of the malasalas there however in a pastry dough form. 5. Chocolate pistachio croissant: High quality pasty very fluffy and light with huge amount of chocolate. Overall, I felt like the savory items were incredible and overshadowed the sweet items. The sweet were still good though. Everything was high quality and fairly priced. Only item that I wouldn't get again is the Maritozzi.
