This was my fiancé & Is first time trying this place today. We were highly impressed with our dishes. My partner had got the Thai fried rice with chicken, I had gotten Pad see ew with tofu. The noodles for pad see ew we're a little on the dry side but the flavor was not lacking. The service was excellent. He (Chawee) was very attentive! We will be coming back and trying different things off the menu. Overall incredibly impressed. Great place to order take out. It's definitely the type of vibe that you order ahead. The Panang curry should be called watered down Panang soup(extremely thin, zero viscosity) with a load of tasteless green beans. Most none tasty curry I've ever had. Maybe their noodle dishes are better, but if they load them up with as many waxy string beans, it won't be appealing. I was visiting from Michigan and looking for a local Thai food place. The food was very, very good. Everything seemed very fresh, was cooked perfectly and had great taste. The service was also great. I went inside for my carry out order and was immediately grated by a very pleasant woman who let me know my food was nearly ready and confirmed everything in my order. You know you want authentic when it comes to Thai cuisine. Homemade from scratch is the ideal way to go. I found this Thai restaurant nearby in Toledo, OH and thought I'd give it a try. I found out via the reviews that this restaurant is a small mom and pop operation. The owner of the store is a petite lady who was nice, friendly, and seemed hurried to fill the orders of the day. I don't blame her though. She seems to run the restaurant quite smoothly. My friend and I decided to pick up lunch here on a brisk Saturday afternoon on the last day of August 2019. We wanted to have dessert first, so it was Handel's Ice Cream before coming here. The restaurant itself was large enough to accommodate a couple of small parties, but large enough to seat about 10-12 people at a time. The restaurant was decidedly empty, but there was a couple of people there to pick up their take out orders at the time when we came. My friend and I decided to order take out and eat it back at the hotel. We looked at the menu for 5 minutes before deciding. I ended up getting the lamb curry and a side order of crispy spring rolls, which was definitely delicious and definitely hit the spot for any stay in Toledo. I was thankful that my stomach reminded me that I wanted my Thai fix and that this place was nearby to my location when that happened. The overall experience here at Toledo Thai restaurant was good, mellow, and positive. We ended up waiting for about 15 minutes before our order was ready for pick up. The ambiance of this restaurant is very much quiet and homespun. It was like having dinner at a family gathering. Its quite cozy actually. Not sure about if there is public wifi or air conditioning though. Toledo Thai restaurant is located at 4011 Secor Road, next to W Sylvania Avenue and near the Franklin Park Mall. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing, as well as cash. I think they require a $10 minimum for the credit card, but I am not too sure on that. They are located in a small strip mall, which has a generous helping of parking stalls for ya'll who drive with a private or rented vehicle. Not sure about public transportation options here though, but best bet would be to take uber or lyft as your best alternative to get here. Thankful for the reviews before I went ahead and came here. For the most part though, it was great that I was in the right area at the right time, so the drive here to Toledo Thai restaurant wasn't bad at all. The prices here was decently priced, with many entrees were priced around $10 already. Best bet would be to add rice with your curry, although they charge around $2-$3 for that extra. The flavors that came with the curry was rather excellent and full of spiciness that couldn't be beat when that Thai craving hits you. I would definitely like to recommend this place if you love Thai food that's real, authentic, and are near the Toledo area of Ohio. It's a place where you would enjoy because it's as homemade as you can get. First time, ordered over $60 worth of food for dinner. Food was missing sides. Didn't know till I got home. When asked the second time I called back for a carry out order on whether the menu had certain sides, was informed that they don't add it in bc customers mostly throw it away anyways..? How am I to know that I had to request it when the menu calls for it? First trip there-couldn't use the restroom due to all the food orders that came in which blocked the path. As a sit down restaurant, you can't NOT offer a restroom. Second trip, honestly a week later, thought I'd go back. The food was extra spicy, positive that they did it purposely as she knew who I was on the phone. I'm Thai and this was not the spicy I know. I order spicy all the time from Thai restaurants in Toledo & MAUMEE. Wrote a review on TripAdvisor, which they do delete all low scores and feedback on how to improve. Third trip today after 2weeks, ordered carry out, went in and was told by the lady that she was refusing me service due to my 1 TripAdvisor review which they deleted. Wow. At least someone read it, however, not to better themselves. Feedback is to continuously improve and be better. It allows the opportunity to grow. I've discovered better Thai restaurants close by with better food, prices and service within a real sit down restaurant. I was never given an apology on the missing menu side dishes, & refusal of bathroom as a customer. They went further to refuse services due to expressing my concerns online. I share experiences as I would not anyone to encounter this. I have to recommend restaurants all the time. I will not recommend this place due to lack of customer service, not enough proportionate food or lack of, and uncomfortable tight space mixed with a low quality look of a grocery aisle which only accepts cash. 5 star based on my expectation and what was delivered! Fantastic Pad Thai and egg roll. My go to was an hour wait and this was near where the rest of the fam was getting carry out! Tried it on a whim and did not want magic woks pad Thai again (magic woks is good value, for a decent fix when in a pinch). Was not disappointed. Medium spice was spot on. Not a lot to say here, other than speed of service everything was average. The food was good, but not outstanding. $10 for a lunch portion was a little high, almost $13 with a drink. Food was brought out very quickly. Very small inside, and filled with grocery type items in the dining area. Strange atmosphere to eat in. The front door has an annoying announcement every time it's opened. The bell goes off and announces "front door" loudly. This is because the staff hangs out completely in the back. I can never let one bad visit construct how I feel about a place entirely. I decided to try it again to see if anything had improved. It definitely was a much better meal this time rather than last year's April visit. They aren't quite in the recommend it to everybody range for me, but definitely would say give it a try if you're in the neighborhood and on the fence about giving it your own go. So this visit was a dine in, and the first thing I noticed was how empty the place was. Granted, my friends and I were there at a little after eight pm, but on a weekend, with no one in the restaurant and not one take out order going in, I started to feel a little badly for the restaurant. The server was very very nice, and when I asked for recommendations, he pointed to the fried rice. Not exactly what I think of when I ask for what is best in the restaurant. I ended up getting the green curry instead which was pretty good. I asked for mild and made a point to say as kindly as possible that I understand mild sometimes means medium when it comes to authenticity. I still said please make it as mild as mild can be and it of course came out medium. Still good, just had a little bit of sweat on my brow. Just be careful if you're sensitive to spicy heat with your food. I ordered the Tom Kha soup as others recommended it on yelp, and I was told they were out of it. Confused how you can be out of something when there's no diners, but didn't question it. The spring roll was a lot better, not as greasy and the sauce that came with it was a nice plain tangy orange goop that is always a universal delight in any thai restaurant I've dined within. I asked for extra rice when the check came since I had more of the main dish leftover than the rice, and the waiter came back to say that the owner said she'd allow it this time but they don't usually do that. I said I don't mind, you can charge me, but it didn't seem like a good way to encourange your only guests in the restaurant to come back. Prices are a little more reasonable than other local thai restaurants, and there is a cheaper lunch menu, so I might come back for that just to test the waters once more. Not my favorite Thai food in Toledo. I would recommend Rose Thai or Bangkok Kitchen over this. It is close to our home and we wanted to give it a try. There is a small Asian grocery store; and when I say small, I mean like 1 aisle. They do have a case with some fresh veggies which is nice. I'll have to come here and grab some quick ingredients. The restaurant decor is ok. Nothing too impressive. It almost looks as if they use Ikea type furniture for their chairs and tables. They could step this up. We started with some Thai tea which was delicious. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who has never had Thai tea before. Tasted like they used the real tea leaves to brew this! I always fall back on my favorite, Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles), but something was not right with this dish. I actually couldn't finish it. The flavors were all wrong. I don't know if they made the wrong dish or what, but I was very disappointed. And we were the only customers too! The bf got the red chicken curry and it was so good! This place definitely makes better curry dishes then noodle dishes. We did also take home some pad thai the other time and it was pretty tasty. Small portion, but delicious. Pros: - quick service - small grocery store to browse around in - Thai tea and curry were very tasty Cons: - Pad Kee Mao was totally wrong - decor should be improved Why I gave it a 2.... My Pad Kee Mao just really scarred me. The Thai Tea was delicious and my bf's chicken red curry was very tasty. But it was so difficult for me to eat my own dish. We have tried taking home the pad thai and that was delicious. I must've chosen the wrong dish here. I have eaten here frequently and have never been disappointed in the food. I give it four stars instead of five because the decor is very basic. This is casual joint, not a good place for a romantic dinner. That's fine with me, but worth knowing. But the food is great, and I've eaten Thai in some of the best Thai restaurants on the West Coast, where the standard is set. I'm a very big fan of the Tom Kah, and order it every time as an appetizer. Service is always quick and friendly. Highly recommended. read more

The hubby and I love Thai food and used to patronize Bangkok Kitchen in Maumee when we lived down there. We moved and wanted to find something closer to our house so, Toledo Thai it is! Well, we walked in, were given two menus and nothing else so we sat ourselves and looked at the menus. Ten minutes later, nobody had come to ask us if we wanted water or were ready to order. There were two ladies working, they just were not interested in taking our order, so we decided to give the menus back and left. I also need to add that there was one other customer sitting and eating. Nobody else was in there. It was not busy so, I do not understand why we had zero service. Maybe they have great food but, we will just drive on down to Bangkok Kitchen where we know the people and the food are fantastic! read more

We were leery about coming here given the overall 3 1/2 Star rating, but thought we would give it a try since it is very convenient to our daughter's new home. We had a delicious meal at a reasonable price and will definitely return. The portions were sized just right for us, but if you have a larger appetite, you might want to order soup or an appetizer to go with your entree. Hidden gem in Toledo. We have tried all of the other Thai restaurants in Toledo and wanted to give this place a shot. Totally unassuming on the exterior, but such a great experience on the inside. The food was so fresh, you could taste all the ingredients, and the spice wasn't overwhelming. Fresh whole coconuts to drink and eat. Papaya salad was the best we have ever had; even compared to award winning Thai restaurants like PokPok back in Portland, Oregon. We got the green curry and vegetable deluxe, both were excellent. The only complaint I have is that the cup is sometimes only half full, and you end up with a lot less for a "large" than you expect. I had thai tea and some noodly dish. The tea is very sweet, I could barely drink it all. The food was good but a bit bland. I wandered around the store that is attached.
