I don't know enough about Toledo Chinese cuisine, but this is better than most as compared to MI…read more Food, quantity, takeout, service, quality all very high. Price point is VERY fair. We've been here twice now. None of the dishes disappointed. We order off the authentic menu. They even have a "special" authentic menu that is seen only when you enter the restaurant. I think they are Cantonese. They don't skimp on portion sizes. Dishes are flavorful. Authentic menu is indeed AUTHENTIC. We asked 1 - low salt, 2 - low oil, 3 - no MSG and these preferences were honored. They even called back saying one of the dishes was a bit heavy in oil so that we could potentially order something else. They called us when the takeout order was ready. The Midwest needs more restaurants like these. If I lived closer I would come way more often. Best of all you get this for a very fair price point. It is not the inflationary/expensive price for low-quantity sub-par asian food you see now-adays. Come here if you are near the area. Ambiance is average and unassuming, like most great Chinese restaurants!

To summarize the food was awful. We also had to request duck sauce, apparently they we short and no fortune cookies.

The staff were all extremely friendly and conscientious of our needs. They made good recommendations and let us know they could accommodate for certain things on the menu such as the spice level. Everything from the tea to the main course was delightful! I highly recommend the flat bread and lemon chicken dish, they were superb! Definitely can't wait to come back and try something else.

2 out of 5 stars We…read morevisited Jing Chuan with a party of five after hearing good things, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing overall. The restaurant is extremely dark inside, although the traditional decor is pretty cool and gives the place some character. Prices were fair, but the service was slow, and our server repeatedly forgot things we asked for throughout the meal. To make matters worse, their credit card machines were down during our visit. The biggest issue was the food. Most of it was extremely greasy. The green onion pancakes were basically grease sponges with almost no flavor. The fried rice wasn't really fried rice at all. It tasted like plain white rice with a few vegetables mixed in and lacked any of the flavor or texture you'd expect. The Szechuan chicken was also disappointing and wasn't something we'd order again. There were a couple of bright spots. The orange chicken was flavorful, and the scallops were cooked well and were probably the best dish we had. Overall, while the prices were reasonable and there were a few good dishes, the overly greasy food, inconsistent quality, forgetful service, and payment issues left us underwhelmed. I wanted to like this place, but based on our experience, I don't see us coming back. Two stars because there were a few positives, but they weren't enough to outweigh the negatives.

Inside feels very nostalgic with decorations, especially being inside of a mall. It's one of my favorite Sunday morning go-tos after a night out. I usually order the har gow, siu mai, spare ribs, and the Chinese donut wrapped in rice noodle (so delicious). And of course, their BBQ buns and pastries are a must. Overall, a great option for dim sum in the area! 4/5

I got home and opened the food and it was filled with vegetables I was allergic to. I called and spoke with the person I ordered from they confirmed that it should've been made with only bok choy and was told to come back and get the correct food. I asked on this phone call if I would need to bring the food that was made incorrectly back they assured me I didn't. Then less than 10 minutes later called me back and said that the kitchen didn't think they made a mistake and to bring back the food to prove they were wrong. I came back with the receipt and incorrectly made item and inquired as to why they switched up in less than 10 minutes no response was given. Then a woman who I believe to be an owner opened up the food and started sifting through it with a spoon telling me what the vegetables were. Once I again reminded them that, that still isn't what I ordered she finally remade the food and made me wait again as they didn't have the correctly made meal ready as they promised me on both phone calls. This incident also violates Rule 3-306.14 of the Michigan Food Safety Code as well. I have been a loyal customer of Shang-ri La's Midtown and West Bloomfield location even during COVID and to be treated this way was pretty devastating.
