The animal area has been cleaned up and there are tons of working sinks to wash hands. You can purchase animal food, pony rides, and bottles to feed the animals. There is also a play gym, train rides, hay rides, trike races, zip lines, slides, dirt to shovel, and more. My three year old easily spent over three hours here and loved every minute. We will definitely be back in the fall!! My only suggestion to andelin farms is to add a fan in the baby nursing hut. It was very stuffy in there.

I was surprised to see how they pushed the entrance area past the barn, but totally makes sense for those who may want to just stop by to shop and not want to enjoy the festivities. The staff were all friendly and kept up with keeping the animal pens clear of poop, especially for the petting ones. They had signage to designate which ones you could feed the animal food to and which ones you couldn't enter due to the animals resting. I really liked how they sectioned off all the animals off to the left side with its own entrance and exit and lots of sanitizing and handwashing stations nearby. They had some new things at the farm too. I saw signage advertising Cuddling with Calves for $20 (kids 8+). They also had some additional calves to see and pet along the way. So adorable! Outside of the animal area, they had a new section, Peacock Pedalers, that allowed kids and adults to ride tricycles around. They also had refreshment stations within the farm for drinks, kettlecorn, and other snacks, which made it convenient. What surprised me was that the features that were typically busy on our past visits, like the mini zip lines and the barrel ride, were very little to no waits. They offered lots of seating for taking a break and grabbing some food from the three food trucks they offered. The pulled pork nachos were yummy! It was a great deal to spend the day at the farm for $20 tickets. Yes, they offered lots of additions like the animal feed, train tickets, and gem sluicing for a price but not really necessary to have a great experience. The baby chicks and goats were the highlight of our visit. My daughter wants to go back next weekend!

When we arrived, I definitely was not expecting the alpacas to be free roaming!! They were so cute and obviously well taken care of and loved. I bought some alpaca food for $5 and it was a big portion that kept me and my family busy. All of the staff was friendly and very accommodating. We camped for the night and in the morning we were greeted at our van by the old donkey on the farm. The alpacas are the main star though, so friendly and adorable! We brought our dogs with us and the alpacas were very curious to meet them. They followed us around the farm for quite a while. I literately fell in love with this place and I can't wait to go back!!! There were even twins goats born the hour before we arrived. What's not to love about this amazing place. I feel lucky to have experienced it!

We watched them being weighed and fed. Glenn was very informative and showed us their fiber room. They also have a wool shop where we bought a saddle rug, alpaca socks, dryer wool balls, and a white alpaca shawl! Such treasures! His wife helped us in the gift shop. They also had a 14 year old girl who was quite helpful with the alpacas and all around their 5 acres... from operating the tractor, to bailing hay! What a great experience!

Communication was prompt and Beckie was super hospitable at every moment. She was kind and calm, and we all felt welcomed and comfortable. Thanks to her, we learned about alpacas and took some adorable photos. We even got to take home some souvenirs from her cute shop (get the alpaca socks-my husband LOVES his!). Tickets for the lavender bloom are seasonal and opening dates can vary based on the timing of the bloom each year. They do a great job of posting their bloom updates and open hours. Buy entry tickets in advance and be ready to show them on your phone. On the day I visited, they had a local coffee vendor who was serving lavender infused products and some local makers on site. The farm is not far from the Sacramento and Folsom areas and you can spend the day visiting other local growers or businesses not too far away. What I really enjoyed about the farm were their strategically placed benches and lawns. You can sit in the shade and enjoy the fields from afar after taking time to walk directly through them. Photo ops abound! There's also a farm barn with their wonderful products such as lotions, soaps and culinary items made from their own lavender. If you missed their opening in 2024, be sure to check them out in next year's bloom. Such a pretty and peaceful place!

We bumped into Jay Frey and his desert stream farm booth and I could've stayed there for an hour. They had heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes in four or five different colors, it seemed. Friendly faces that answered questions were available. Heck, it seems like Jay was the tomato whisperer as he pointed out to my wife, which tomato to eat tomorrow not today. He also had a small supply of greens, that we never even tasted, and that's another reason for us to return. Here's the good news, this was Tuesday night, August 19 and Jay let us know that the farmer's market has got another six weeks and then it will be done for this season. It's your chance to come taste some of the best tomatoes of your life. The Minden farmers market is open Tuesday evenings and there's a lot going on here that makes it a friendly fun stop. It's a lot like stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting and who wouldn't like that. We enjoyed a cocktail, we sampled potato chips and dip, which we ended up making a purchase and we met many friends while hobnobbing around the market. So you've got the chance to eat tasty, locally owned and grown produce purchased about four miles from the farm. That is something to celebrate these days. We ended up eating one of the four heirloom tomatoes as part of our dinner last night. It was delicious, and I was particularly proud of the fact that I resisted eating every bit of the tomato prior to it getting added to the dish.

The goats were super approachable and friendly. Our niece was able to actually pet a whole bunch of the goats and feed them with her hands.
