Charged twice and we even went to the front desk and had to leave our items in the desk. Not going back ever. Bad. No help. We even showed them the bank transaction on our phone. Added to the story we had to call the bank and spend 30 minutes on the phone trying to void the payment. After spending 30 minutes on the phone with Tom Thumb HQ woth no help. Rediculous. Never going there again. And telling all my friends not to either. Plenty of options out there. read more

The bakery in this store has REALLY gone down hill!! Enough that I have officially picked up the last piece of dessert I will be getting from this place! First, it was the extremely undercooked cookie cakes we were getting that you could literally re-roll into cookie dough balls!! Then it was me going to pick up one of my kids cakes and the topper was broke by the lady behind the counter and she still tried to give it to me..... turned out there was several more in the back for replacing!!!! And now this latest time! Not only was the edible print crooked on the cake, the edges looked lower than the rest of the cake. Once we cut into it you could see where they compensated on missing cake with icing! Not to mention the whole pic was bleeding pink!!! Really disappointed!! read more

I've really loved shopping at tom thumb since I was a kid but today was completely different. They changed their self checkouts cause it called the lady helping over to check if I scanned all my cans of cat food. She watched the videos over 3 times even after I told her how many I had that should be on the screen so she could just count them herself. She didn't listen to me at all. It did the same thing when ringing up 4 frozen pizzas. She was talking to another cashier for 2 minutes before she came over and spent another couple minutes watched the videos and stared as if I was stealing and she had to catch me but there was nothing to catch so after she overrode it she stayed by me to watch me finish my transaction. I felt so ashamed to be treated like that. I even apologized to her and said I'm really in a hurry cause I could feel my anger and impatience swelling but she just laughed it off and said it must not like you. I left so angry and mistreated like a criminal over water, pizza and cat food. I hate to think this is cause I'm Mexican but idk, it felt like that. Horrible. read more

I like this place. Everytime we've gone, its clean, organized and has plenty of options. The aisles look like whoever takes care of them does it with pride, it always looks great here. They also have one of the best wine/ beer selections of grocieries in the area. So if you need some chilled bubbly for brunch you can definitely get some here. Im pretty basic with my grocery needs, but I find what I need here- eggs, coffee, produce, and meat. Produce is usually very fresh. They do have a decent hot/cold foods area. When I need brie, I know I can find it here too. We got wings and sides for dinner one night and it was tasty. I wish they had store made tortillas! Prices are OK to average and so is customer service. At night weve waited a while, even for a few items. I like this place for the organization. Id recommend. read more

I ordered a couple of items for delivery to see if they could compete with HEB and Kroger. Epic fail. Jack Daniel's baby back ribs were 7 days beyond the use by date. Today is the 24th, use by is the 17th. I'm not eating refrigerated pork 7 days out. I'll update this review once we see how they handle the $37.98 refund. read more

Ok....I guess everyone just wants to take my money today as if I wouldn't notice it. I shop based on sales......so when I pick up something that's 3/$12 or 10/$10, it would be nice if the receipt would reflect it. I was walking out of the store and realized that half of the items were rung up at full price, I had to go to the service desk and point out all of the incorrect prices. This Tom Thumb store is very nice. It's a little off the road in a not so busy shopping center. I kind of enjoy it not being so busy, I don't like dodging cars in the parking lot. The store itself is very clean and taken care of. The shelves are stocked and vegetables are fresh. Meat market has good selection. This particular location has a starbucks inside which is just a bonus for me. I can buy groceries and coffee at the same time. I came in this past Saturday to get my registration sticker renewed. I had heard that Tom Thumb locations offer the service but I haven't ever tried thus far. I walked up to the service desk and within two minutes had my new sticker in hand. I grabbed a frappucino on the way out and killed two birds with one stone! read more

Clean Store, Nice Staff I like this Tom Thumb as it is one of the grocery stores we regulary go to... sometimes the prices are higher for certain products, but I like the way the store is laid out and the wine selection is very good. The bagels, breads and bakery are the best in the are when compared to other supermarkets. They have almost anything you need and the vegetables are good as well. This is a convenient Grocery Store that is always clean, with ample parking and a friendly staff. read more

Usually superior service, but tonight I had to wait over 15 minutes on self serve cashier while they were helping the others who came AFTER me. This staff person scanned the store coupon over 5 times like a customer would, after I told her that customers can't scan that type of coupon bc it needs the a store person's authorization. So, she pulled a manager/supervisor who showed her to do one coupon then pulled her to help others with similar issue...I looked at her & said "I have 3 more items that I need help with, & she walked past me to help the NEXT customer instead of helping me finishing my bag. By that time it went from just 2 customers using self serve to all occupied stations with some back up. There was a lady with a name tag "GM manager" ?Tracy, who just stood there telling me "thank you for your patience" w/o jumping in to help out. So I said, "I waited & I had my patience", but they chose to finish assisting others & pushed me to the end of the line? All she said was "I apologize". I had 3 kids waiting with me. There's no channel I could find on their website, but yes I hate to say this, was I pushed aside bc of my ethnicity? I love this store even though it is out of my way to get here. I do my grocery shopping closer to home but there are times that I can't find in my stores some things that only Tom Thumb carries. The store is always bright and very clean. The shelves are stocked well and things are easy to find. The staff are very helpful and doing so with a happy disposition. Congrats to the management for their employees. read more

This Tom Thumb is excellent and I have seen improvements when I mention something that would make my shopping a better experience it done. The checkers are attentive and will open a new line even when I'm only second in line. The selection is good and for me a great location and the gas station plus rewards are awesome. read more

The store has gone down hill in the past few months. Must have had some management changes. When they are out of certain products and you ask when they will be restocked they say they don't know. The meat dept guys act like it's a hassle to cut steaks and pork chops to your specs. Oh well I'll just go the another store. I guess they think the customer should get what they want. Then when you check out the check out clerk ask did you find everything you needed. If you say NO they just say sorry. Not what was it that you couldn't get and let have a manager check on that. It used to be like that. Not any more if I wanted the I don't care attitude I would go to Walmart. read more

The Tom Thumb on Walnut Creek in Mansfield has most of what I need most of the time. It is close to my home and their meat market is especially good. The issues I have with TT is as follows: 1. The seafood section is almost non-existent. No fresh fish at all, everything is frozen or was frozen at some point. 2. Most importantly, there are a few of the staff that are casually polite but most act as if they do not see you at all and that goes for the managers. Of course that makes perfect sense because having great, cheerful, and polite customer service comes from the top of the organization, which makes me wonder who in corporate are managing the most important aspect of doing business, great customer service? Hopefully it will improve but if not I will drive anther Mile and go to Kroger. read more

I have made my last trip to Tom Thumb in mansfield. Probably it won't be around much longer anyway. As i was checking out I asked the cashier if they had a product I had been unable to find. Her response was, "I wouldn't know." She did not respond, "I don't know,let me ask," or "I don't know, I will find out." She just said, "I wouldn't know," and nothing else. This Tom Thumb has an awesome bakery. I had read reviews and was a little leery about purchasing a wedding cake from here but due to the reviews I did. They had lots of things to choose from and were extremely helpful. Had a lead time of 3 weeks, and oops! I had 2, but they got it done as I didn't order a ton of extras. We ordered a 2 tier buttercream white 'modern' cake with berry filling. It was as gorgeous as it was tasty. I was asked for weeks where I had gotten the delicious cake. It was VERY good, and again the bakery staff was simply awesome to work with. Kudos to them all!!! read more
