Dr. Vu is awesome as a dentist and I love my hygienist, Lone! But what I'm really writing to say is that the Diamond Glow facials I've been getting from Lone are amazing!!! Dr vu had been my dentist for a few years before I moved to Woodland Hills. To avoid the horrendous 101 freeway, I decided to try out two new dentists- both of whom were very dishonest with me. One who over billed my insurance. And the second who told me I had developed 4 cavities and needed 4 fillings. My longtime dentist, Dr. Becker, retired, and it was pure luck that someone as cool as Dr. Vu took his place. Very easygoing and chill guy. Has never tried to sell me on any procedure -- in fact, he could have, as I've several times wondered if various stuff is wrong with my teeth, and he's always found them to be figments of my imagination. The office is super clean and mellow. I've lived in three different neighborhoods, all a pretty long drive from Dr. Vu, and I keep going there anyway -- in L.A., that's the highest indication of something being worthwhile! read more

For those of you who feel hesitant about visiting a dentist office during the pandemic, I'm here so reassure you that this is the office you want to visit. The moment you walk in you get your temperature taken and asked a few questions prior to escorting you to your examination room. Everyone working in the office had a face mask on at all times. I had the pleasure of having Loan measure my gums, conduct my x-rays and cleaning. When measuring my gums, Loan walked me through what is considered healthy and what is not (I had no idea). The knowledge she has is something that should not be taken for granted. During my x-rays, not only was Loan extremely careful when placing the object in my mouth after every picture, she also sanitized the vest and machine right after. I have not had a cleaning in awhile which I'm ashamed to say but Loan did an incredible job. She had a mask AND shield on which I cant imagine having that on all day (bless those who are working with people during these times). After my cleaning, I got to meet Mr. Tom Vu who analyzed my x-rays and provided feedback on what next steps should be. Dentist visits are not something we look forward to but when you find people with the knowledge and care that Loan and Tom had it makes it worthwhile. Highly recommend this office. My tender gums and heavy plaque build up (prob. the perfect storm of poor hygiene developed after one-too-many nights of sugary snacks and soda) were met with the most friendly, kid-gloved, and attention-oriented hygienest, Loan. She was incredibly gentle with the cleaning tools as I didn't feel any pain or harsh sudden head-jerking that I normally experienced at the office I went to previously. During my post-cleaning evaluation, Dr. Vu clearly and carefully explained and warned me of some potential problem areas and I didn't feel as if he was just going through the motions and rushing through just to claim on the insurance bill that he did it. Tom Vu dental office was clean, modern, and pleasant. Even the reception staff member was super professional and patient with me in dealing with my unexpected insurance coverage hiccup. Loan is now my go-to hygienist for my bi-annual cleanings. If Dr. Vu is just as kid-gloved as Loan with his dental instruments, then I can't wait until I get a cavity! So happy I stumbled across this dental office. My sister was having a lot of pain and the usual place I go to was closed. I called Dr Vu's office and Karen answered. She was so friendly and informative over the phone. She took the time to check if our insurance was covered at the office. I was afraid that since we were new patients we would not be able to get in quick however she offered a same day appointment. I was unable to accompany my sister to the appointment initially so I called Karen again to see what forms she would need to fill out. I explained that although my sister is 20 this is something new for her. Karen greeted her as she walked in, and made her check in process not only a quick and efficient one but also very pleasant. It did not take long for her to be roomed, and x-rays performed. Dr Vu was in with her shortly and explained what they would be doing. They engaged with her throughout the process, gave her glasses so she wasn't awkwardly staring and offered her to listen to some music so the drill wouldn't bother her. By the time I got there they were halfway done and I really liked how Dr Vu would check up on her and call her "kiddo". Not only did it make her feel at ease it showed a sense familiarity despite it being her first visit. He called me the " mommy sister" and it made me feel like I made the right choice in bringing her in. When we left she kept raving about how this was the best experience she has had at a dental office because normally the front desk are rushing to get off the phone or don't even acknowledge you when you walk in. I came to see Dr. Vu because I needed to get all four wisdom teeth removed. First, let me tell you, I was not looking forward to this procedure. Having consulted with a few dentists to take on my difficult case, I ended up choosing Dr. Vu. My case was difficult because my bottom two wisdom teeth were impacted, which means the tooth was growing in side ways and butting into my other tooth next to it. I really had to get them removed quickly since I didn't want them to move/shift my other teeth. Dr. Vu explained the procedure to me and walked me through the recovery. This was something other dentists didn't do, they just talked mainly about the operation and the cost. I decided to go with Dr. Vu because he was the only one that seem to care about how I would be feeling and doing before, during, AND after the procedure. His staff was friendly and even called to check up how I was doing, and made sure I was managing my pain well over the weekend. Very happy to have picked such a caring, professional, and great dental office. I ended up switching dentist and am getting cleanings here now too because of my great experience here! Dr. Vu is our family's dentist. He has navigated us through filings, crowns, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal and dental injuries (chipped teeth.) He is knowledgable, skilled and has a very good chair side manner. If the issue requires service beyond the scope of his office, we have be extremely pleased with the professionals he has referred us to. Let me start by saying how incredibly grateful I am to have found Dr Tom Vu and his amazing hygienist Loan.  I have had a miserable dental history and was often made to feel that it was all my fault because I never took care of my teeth. (This after following all of the guidelines and buying all of the different floss and special toothbrushes ... and USING them twice a day!) Loan started by giving me an incredible, thorough deep cleaning. (I have had others in the past.) She then explained, in detail, the reasons for the ongoing problems and how to effectively move forward to help my mouth/gums heal. Dr Vu took the time to explain each trouble spot and why or how the problems develop over time. (Night time teeth grinding, deep gum pockets, etc.) He gently made small adjustments with a few teeth and older crowns to create more comfort in my bite. He took his time to ensure that I understood everything, including the problem areas, and that things were done correctly. This whole experience was such a refreshing change from the "bandage and poor communication" approach that I have experienced in the past.  Truth be told, none of us enjoy dental work, but I finally feel like I have advocates that will help me understand my treatment and how to move forward to avoid losing teeth and creating more problems in the future read more
