As a newer patient (2-3 years), and someone with a history of extensive dental/myofascial pain, it was incredibly important that I find a dentist who is not only excellent at what he does, but displays the kind of bedside manner that, quite frankly, is hard to find these days. The dentist is top notch. His front office, aside from Toni, is inept and fucking rude. They are classic "Over billers" who tell you to ignore EOB and pay what they say. One actually said, "We forgot to bill insurance for something, so you owe an additional $80" after I handed them over $900. I contacted insurance and they said, "You Don't owe that." Yet Doc K's office sent me a bill again and again. Finally left them and now go to the Dr. Sands. Sad because Doc K is a great dentist if you don't mind being hassled by the rude support staff. read more

Nope. I don't recommend. They were friendly enough during the consult. However, on the way out I was hit with a $190 bill WITHOUT EVER HAVING RECEIVED A NOTICE that consults have a fee!?!!! I wish I had a few extra stars, 5 isn't enough. First, Dr. K is so kind and patient, he understands individual patients needs, pain thresholds and levels of anxiety. He is not happy until you are relaxed (as much as you can be in a dentists chair) and explains everything he is doing, what to expect etc. Not to mention he is an artist! I've never loved a dentist office so much. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the effervescent Toni. Her warm smile and kind energy is exactly what you want when walking into a cleaning. Dr. K is so knowledgeable and has hired a team of equally astounding individuals. The BEST PART??? TVs sit above every dental chair with your own remote. I don't know what that says about me, maybe I freaking LOVE it. This office was recommended to be by a co-worker and I've been coming here for around 8 years. Dr. K is thorough, honest, personable, and efficient and his staff are a dream. I see Anahit every 6 months and I always look forward to chatting with her. Toni is also a warm and welcoming presence to the front desk. The office is clean and comfortable. There are three reserved spaces behind the office and plenty of street parking just around the corner on Whitsett (it's less than a 3 min walk; however, I am almost always able to get a spot in back). First time here and it was as hands-down the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. Upon entering, you're greeted by Toni who is super friendly, and so welcoming! The office is the cleanest and most technologically advanced dental office I've ever been to. I went in for a consultation to close a small gap I had between my front teeth that was bothering me forever. Dr. K was extremely helpful and gave both pros & cons regarding my different options. I ended up going with the bonding, and was out of his office within an hour! He was very professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about the patient's experience throughout the whole process. His assistant (forgot her name) was also such a joy! I walked out of there literally telling them I'm going to recommend friends, family, and co-workers... Big baby. Yep. That defines my demeanor as soon as I sit in a dentist's chair. Not exaggerating. I have had some wretched experiences with dentists in my life and so I avoid them at all costs. Until there's an emergency. SO three days ago, a filling cracked and the pain was quickly creeping in. Desperate to find someone local, I read the reviews for the Studio City Dental Center and called them immediately. Toni - the miracle on the other end of the line worked her magic and was able to squeeze me in (they sacrificed their lunchtime for me) no joke. When I walked in, I was greeted with so much warmth by the entire staff - I knew I was in good hands. Their offices are bright, clean, technologically advanced AND I even had a window looking out over these cool little olive trees. Mindy, my technician was a doll. Gentle and made me feel at ease immediately. Now. Dr. K. WHAT?! He's like the Fairy God Dentist. Cool dude with a great sense of humor and REALLY intelligent in his craft. Broke down the issues, quickly and clearly - and did not patronize or make me feel badly for waiting. Turned out they had to replace an old filling and drill down a bit more. After begging to be administered as much Novocaine as legally possible. it was time to go. I have never seen a dentist work so quickly, efficiently, and all the while with gentle hands. Dr. K and Mindy clearly had done this before as their teamwork was seamless and neither one skipped a beat. I am now 24 hours into to recovery (haha i know i know just a filling) BUT besides the normal soreness that comes with dental work - I feel great! And now I actually will make a follow up appointment and not wait until the next emergency occurs. You will so not be disappointed and I will shout this office from the rooftops for forever. I was actually a bit confused when I called, because I was under the impression that Dr K was an oral surgeon (stupid metlife doctor locator...), so the fact that I am even writing this review is testament to the fact that his receptionist, Toni, is so fabulous that I was moved to open up yelp after I got off the phone with her! I had left a message last night looking to schedule a consultation for a wisdom tooth extraction after reading these glowing reviews. Toni got right back to me, and didn't make me feel like an idiot - gave me referrals to oral surgeons, actually asked how I was (and meant it...or sounded like she did, which is just as impressive), and even stayed on the phone for a few minutes with me to answer my questions about what to do about my temporary filling falling out from my recent root canals. She was incredibly sweet and so helpful, and this even at a time in the morning when I'm sure she was swamped. If the doctor is anywhere near as good at what he does as his receptionist is, you're set. After my wisdom teeth I definitely plan to go back and see Dr K. read more

Months ago, I came in with crazy, scary pain on a couple of my upper right molars. I came in thinking that I definitely had to get a root canal, but Dr. Kouyoumdjian investigated and found a much less invasive solution for my particular case. In addition to the standard exams and x-rays, he looked beyond the "obvious" and delved deeper into examining my bite and bad habits to find the root of what was causing me pain. A week later, I was perfect--no pain. Six months later, I'm doing great and just had my second cleaning of the year. They seemed to remember who I was and the Dr. followed up on Every. Single. Thing (my action items). that we talked about when I came in six months ago. Whether it's a great memory or great notes, I don't know, and I don't think it matters. It's amazing when health professionals take meticulous notes--I feel like it's become a lost art. I truly believe that the Dr and entire staff (a) truly cares about all of their patients, and (b) are always thinking about the best ways to do things. I love this dentistry. Was referred here by my roommate, after a rather bad experience at a dentist office in Beverly Hills, near my work. I was given a bad cleaning and was over priced for fillings at this other dentist and came here for a second opinion. Firstly, the entire staff here is top notch. Even on my first visit, when I came into the office I felt like Norm walking into Cheers, with a warm welcome. To be honest, I was already sold on the place solely on my interaction with Toni at the front desk. Denee was the assistant who took my Xrays, helped Dr. K, and aided in scheduling my filling and cleaning appointments. Dr. Kouyoumdjian spent almost an entire hour with me analyzing my teeth, gave extremely insightful analysis, and explained to me in great detail what his opinion of the course of action to take. Very knowledgeable. He was very open, honest, and responsive to my questions/concerns, and extremely easy to talk to. Cannot recommend enough! I was calling around trying to find a new dentist for my boyfriend. We love ours, but Ryan just received new insurance no one seems to take. Although, I just discovered this dentist's insurance plans had changed as well, I met the warmest and most helpful person today. Her name is Toni. She referred me to another dentist, which she did not have to do, and went our of her way to give me his information and rave reviews. She also informed me of the best insurance plans for myself, whether I use their offices or not. Going to the dentist is typically an anxiety inducing experience...add a DEEP cleaning to it and...yikes. Hi neighbors- as I'm about to leave the state, I thought I would recommend my dentist, who is absolutely the best dentist in LA, because after the kindness and expertise he's shown me over the years, it only feels right to pay it forward with him. Dr. K at Studio City Dental Center is legitimately the best dentist around, for both regular dentistry and cosmetic work. I have been seeing him for 7 years now, only after trying so many other dentists in the area and not really loving their work, the vibe of the place, or the other staff. Dr. K is the kindest, most patient man and he's also astoundingly talented. Because I'm leaving CA this weekend, I went ahead and got a major elective dental procedure (two crowns in my front two teeth, and two veneers in my laterals, so literally the entirety of my smile) because I didn't want to have anyone else do my surgery, so I squeezed this in amidst all of the chaos of packing. My teeth look amazing- way better than I could have even imagined- and they were all so kind about me being a total wimp about the process. Dr. K and his technicians are the best, and Toni who works the front desk might actually be just pure sunshine in human form. Dr. K is hands down the best dentist I have ever had. My husband, our cousins and my two young boys aged 5 & 7 all see him. He is calm, caring and so amazing at his craft. He put in a crown that matched my teeth exactly. The temp one he gave me while I was waiting for the permanent one looked great too. And they both fit like a glove and went in perfect the first time.
