The soft, chewy taffy was so good! My fav is peanut butter and it did not disappoint! I also bought banana and watermelon. They were good, but much milder on flavor. The service was friendly and she was patient while I browsed. The store was neat. It is pet friendly too. So happy we stopped in for ice cream! Long line, as it was hot out and everyone seemed to have the same idea. And there was only one girl working and the poor thing was doing a hell of a good job! Why do they keep the ice cream so ice cold and hard to scoop? Poor girl! She was sweating but still did a great job with a friendly attitude. I wish I had gotten her name to give her a shout out, but we were there on Saturday March 12th :-) The ice cream I got was called Pistachio Amaretto and Daaaaaaaannnggg it was freaking delicious! Now, listen to me. I am an ice cream freak! An ice cream freak of nature and I love ice cream more than any other dessert on this planet....and this was mind blowingly delicious. It tasted like a creamy frozen cannoli. I wish I had ordered more, even though I had a big lunch, and my one big scoop was plenty good enough. My husband got lemon marionberry which was incredibly lemony, the most lemony flavor of any I'd ever tried! Would I go back? Absolutely! Took me a bit of conversation to get him to acknowledge us. If you're in dire need of ice cream, please order a scoop of Turkish Coffee flavor to cleanse his holier than thou attitude. My sister, niece and I came to this candy and sweet goods place to get goodies for the rest of the family back home. When we entered we noticed so many goodies at the store we couldn't help ourselves at all. They have a fudge table that has nothing but variations of fudge and goodies. It was so hard to pick out which fudge we wanted so I ended up going with the chocolate swirl peanut butter fudge which was bomb dot com. I let my niece pick out a toy for herself and her cousin then we made our way to the Salt Water Candy area and other good treats. They also had ice cream too. I treated my sister to some yummy candies. They had ever flavor of salt water taffy but we opted for a $5 bag of taffy that had a variety. They not only had sweets for candy-holidays they also had clothes and other knacks to bring back as souvenirs. The area was under construction so it was challenging to get to the shop and a little confusing as well. Other than that we had a great experience there. There are chairs and tables inside where you can sit down and enjoy your sweet treats. Definitely a must try if you are in the area. read more

This place is definitely worth practicing patience. At first I was put off by not being helped right away. But I was patient and glad I was because I realized the gentleman that was working was a little hard of hearing. Once I got my chocolate and had a chance to try it, well let's just say I was blown away. The dark chocolate salted caramel and dark chocolate peanut butter cups are delicious. We come here because we love the taffy. We were all sad when they had to move. Now the store is kind of hidden. We also miss them making the taffy where everybody can see. We learned that they now make the taffy and other sweets in Morro Bay. The shop is cute and has some souvenirs that are a bit overpriced. The store is a little unorganized with boxes stacked around. They treat case was not fully stocked with treats when we went and not much of variety of taffy but enough to capture the attention of the little ones. Oh and they also sell ice cream. read more

OMG! This place is a gem! The boo and I randomly stopped by because we saw a sign for fresh cookies. I am sooooo happy we did because WOW. Hands down BEST cookies I've ever had!! They only offered one flavor, chocolate chip, but it's really the only flavor you need. The base of the cookie is amazing! The browned butter makes it exceptional and the chocolate chips are abundant throughout the whole cookie. It was just as good two days later, droool. It's chewy, it's sweet, it's absolutely perfection. We got a brownie and that was great too but I'm not a fan of chocolate chips in my brownies. 4 cookies and 1 brownie brought us out to $9. This place had a ton of gear, but beware the quality isn't great at all for what you pay. I spent about $150 worth sweaters & each one of them had a problem with the wear & wash. My daughter put on a black sweater over a t-shirt & half the inside lining of the sweater pulled all over. Took me forever to get it off. Plus they shrink big time. I normally don't dry my clothes but on low setting. The taffy almost made my mom sick. Did not taste like that good seaside taffy you'd get from a coastal city. I think there might have been cross contamination with the utensils used for making the chocolate which also tasted like taffy too. Won't be revisiting when I come back. read more

We happed to walk right by this corner shop and took a quick peak inside. This Pismo touristy gift shop sells souvenirs as well as hand made candies including chocolates and taffy. They actually have a candy making station and they have an actual taffy pulling machine...would have loved to watch them making the taffy but they said the following day was their taffy making day. My husband loved the taffy...he picked out a handful of flavors to munch on while we walked on the beach, I think they were all gone by the time we got to the car! Must try the Peanut Butter Cookies at the top of the counter in a glass jar , they are topped with a peanut butter cup. I only got a small sample from my friends purchases, but OMG was that cookie the bomb.com, I'm ready to go back just buy some of them. It reminded me of a classic homemade peanut cookie rolled in granulated sugar, except these bad boys are thick, but break apart like a homemade cookie should. Why 3 stars? The store itself was very warm when we went inside, to the point of being uncomfortable and people seemed agitated because of it, lots of grumbles, maybe the AC was out, but for that reason alone I couldn't wait to get out of there. Typical little tourist shop in a touristy area that happens to offer taffy and ice cream cones. It appears to be artfully organized and the taffy prep area looked clean. We went in for a couple of ice creams. We got Rocky Road and Doc's Java. Both were quite creamy, delicious and hit the spot. What didn't hit the spot was the cashier. No sense of customer service not even a hint of a smile. More like one of the Stepford wives performing her programmed routine which included grabbing her own hair into a knot and then scooping my ice cream WITHOUT washing her hands. I would love to see her manager or Health Department Inspector make the same observation. read more

The girl serving the food was NOT wearing a mask and when we asked her to put one on before handling our food she said no because it is a "personal choice."
